This must be an "affordable" company if my university handles their HSAs through them. It took over two weeks for my contribution to be processed, delaying medical care that my infant needed. Now on Feb 2, we are still waiting on our tax forms to be delivered electronically. This violates federal mandates. Customer service is not helpful and borderline rude.Review from Romeo D

In 2023 they started charging me $3.50/month maintenance fee without letting me know. By the time I checked my account, I already paid $35. While they gave me $0.02/month interest on my investment. No further comments.Review from jerri a

Like the other reviews, one star is too good for this company. You know it's an incompetent company when they answer all their one star reviews the exact same way :"We apologize for any inconvenience". Seriously? Fix your company if you have to answer all the bad reviews the same way! A good company wouldn't need to say that. BWallet has stopped my recurring payments at least twice in the several years I've been with them. And bc they stopped, they charged me $3.50/mo bc my balance was under $5000. When I called, the rep wanted to know why I wanted to talk to a supervisor. The rep couldn't explain to me why my payments stopped. I was on the phone w/ the rep for over an hour and 23 minutes. That's why I wanted to talk to a manager. I'm so done with this company. Requested transfer papers to go to another HSA with someone else. STAY far away from (non)BenefitWallet if you're thinking about starting an HSA. They aren't worth the headache they give you! Don't consider them as an option!!!!Review from Thomas C

I wish I could give zero stars. I'm six weeks into trying to reactivate my account and it still hasn't happened. I mean all I'm doing is asking them to take my money, it shouldn't be that difficult. 12/8/23 request to reactivate. Answer: you must snail mail a notarized piece of paper saying I am me. 12/15/23 I called to request an update, they said they still haven't received my paperwork. 12/19/23 account reactivated, but no notification by email, text, phone, app notification, nothing. 12/27/23 I get my debit card and check book, this is the first sign of life from their company, I am on vacation so unable to make contribution. 1/2/24 I log in to make a contribution but my account is closed. I call and I'm blamed at least five or six times for not making a contribution sooner. I asked why they don't notify you when they reactivate the account. No reason, just not their process. I begin the process to reactivate the account a second time and I'm told they will make an exception and do it without the notarized paperwork. 1/8/24 account still not active. I call and ask them when it will get activate and I'm blamed 5+ times for not funding in December. 1/9/24 account is magically reactivated. I log in and make a contribution and try to activate my debit card. I can't activate the card, tried three times via the automated line and finally called them. I'm told the debit card is no longer active because, guess what, I didn't fund the account in December. I request a new card and assure them I've funded the account. I told them I have a bill coming up around 1/20/24 I need to pay and request them to expedite the card. They said they would put in a request. 1/11/24 they took my money from my account. 1/16/24 My card has not arrived. I called and was told my request to expedite was denied. So glad their operations team decides if i pay my bills on time. Also my account is STILL $0 balance. Six weeks in and this is still going. I've lost my patience now.Review from Miranda D

My husband and I requested a reimbursement two months ago but it kept being held. Finally on the 14th we got it lined out and were told it had been verified and nothing more needed from us. We patiently wait as they said it could be up to 2 weeks. It’s been that. I check online the reimbursement has disappeared again. I call they needed to verify it again. Why?! It is my money and shouldn’t be this difficult to access MY money. I’ve now been informed it could take another couple of days to verify then another couple to be released. This is absolutely unacceptable.Review from Max J

Believe the reviews of this company. We have a medical child and unfortunately this is the company our FSA is through. They have denied almost every transaction we made this year even though we submitted the required documentation. We now have to pay back around $1500 which they will get to keep due to how late in the year it is. When they deny a transaction they place a hold on your card so you can't use it until you pay it back. This company is an absolute scam. Everywhere I've looked for reviews they have 1/5 stars and the reviews are all similar in nature. Believe the reviews and avoid this scam company! We will be fighting with them over this. Every transaction made on our card was for legitimate medical expenses- copays and remaining balances after insurance kicked in. They absolutely try to steal your money. They deduct it from your paycheck and then dont allow you to use it for medical expenses. How in the world is this company still open and operating. Will be seeing what we can do legally against this scam company to get them shut down. Unbelievable.Review from Someone S

Benefit Wallet is the worst company we have ever had to use. It's ALL my own money and they deny every single purchase. I am so happy my work is dropping their contract due to numerous complaints. I hate this company, seriously. You are allowed to shop for FSA items and submit photos of the order for reimbursement. I have had numerous issues but today's was extra ridiculous I ordered a lot of FSA items off Amazon's official FSA list, and of course, denied. My husband was on the phone with them for hours because apparently they reserve the right to deny or approve ANY item even if it says "guaranteed". They said it had the be the exact items from the FSA store. So we did the work for them and sent photos of every item that was on the FSA store with our Amazon order. Surprise, surprise they were all matching and still denied. The hilarious part is that they were also trying to say every item that was sunscreen was a cosmetic and didn't understand that anything above SPF 15 isn't a cosmetic and IS sunscreen from an actual supervisor. My husband asked for the internal list of actual approved items since they can randomly decide, individually, what is approved and what is not, obviously no list is provided so far and it won't be. I wish I could hold a sign up that says a vulgarity and remind them, it is my money.Review from Chris R

After multiple attempts to contact the organization regarding my HSA, and spending several hours on hold, I finally made contact. I never received my debit card. I was informed that I would not be able to log into the website due to lack of access to the work email utilized to set it up. I was also informed I was not able to close my account without my debit card, which I had never received. I was then told that they would send me a confirmation number to authenticate my account via the mail in 10 business days. A month later and I have not received the number. Once again I spent well over an hour to get off of hold, and was informed there was nothing they could do except restart the process.Review from Naomi F

If I could give no stars, I would. This company sucks. I am so disappointed that my company chose to switch over to this company over *********. I have been MORE than patient with BenefitWallet on a number of occasions and each and every time they deny claims for the smallest of things. They ask that receipts have a "description of service" when it is so clear what was purchased on the receipt, but no they want that specific language when it already has the names of the items purchased. On top of that, they expect me to pay $180 because I was given a discount for ordering a certain amount of contacts! Like are you serious!? That money didn't even come out of your pocket! I never had it in the first place! They even denied my claim for two covid tests for "lack of service." Unbelievable. Avoid them at all costs. There is a reason so many people leave negative reviews!
