I sent my car there to get fixed for one thing they said it was the Cadillac converter. Then they said I needed tires and brakes and rotors there was a list of items I was told I needed adding up to $4000. My husband and I agreed to the most important fixes and told them we dont want to keep repairing things since we have to finance it. They said everything was under lifetime warranty. Once we got the car back it wasnt driving correctly we saw the belt came off so we put it on our selves not thinking anything of it. Went to another mechanic they said it was bank 2 with the Cadillac converter so with it being under warranty we took it back there they said it was something else and if they needed up repairing the converter they would charge a fee I am beyond confused and upset we financed almost $4000 of repairs and its under warranty and there asking for more so now the care is not drivable and I refuse to pay them since they didnt even fix what was wrong in the first place they just wanted to charge me anything they could. Im trying to avoid court but that will have to be my next step. The only thing Im asking is to refund or pay the bill that we had to refinance and I will no longer deal with Midas. Since we owe them so much we cant finance to actually get the car fixed.

On April 5th, my 2014 ******* Santa Fe would not accelerate on highway 33 and I pulled over. Once I did that the car died. We towed it to the Freehold Midas, told them my check engine light was going on and off for awhile and that the car ceased to accelerate on the highway and died. They looked at the car and at first said they thought it was a starter issue. Then the next day, they claimed it was a battery issue. The next day, they said they thought it was a sensor issue and were ordering a sensor, they also they said were bringing another mechanic in to look at the car. We questioned them and were concerned that they couldn't correctly fix our problem. On that following Monday, they called and said they replaced the starter, battery, and a fuse. The car was ready for pick-up. We paid a total of $1224. One week later the car broke down again and we towed it back to Midas. They looked at the car and said it was an engine problem and they couldn't do anything. We asked for a refund because obviously the problem with the car was not fixed. They refused. We even told them we would pay for just the parts but again they refused. We then towed it to ****************, they looked at it and said we needed a new engine which was covered by a class action lawsuit. They installed a new engine and the car was fine. The issue we have with Midas is that they misdiagnosed the problem and repeatedly were guessing what the problem was. Rather than admit they didn't know what was wrong with our car they simply put a band-aid on and replaced parts that had nothing to do with the main problem of the car. The whole engine of the car died, they could not diagnose the problem correctly because the engine failed and the car would not start. We have spoken to them numerous times and have tried to reason with them but have been unsuccessful. We are seeking either a full refund or adjustment in that we share the responsibility (as in half, which basically covers the parts).
