In October 2021, I made a purchase of a 2018 ******** E300 from *********, which involved their lending company known as Palisades Funding. Initially, I was unaware of the connection between the two entities. In November 2021, I encountered significant issues with the car, particularly related to electrical problems with the headlight. This occurred only a month after I acquired the vehicle, and during that time, I also had to replace the brakes. Shockingly, the car was sold to me with a malfunctioning headlight, essentially one working headlight. To add to the initial unpleasantness, I had to be escorted to my car on the first night due to a threatening incident that took place while I was at the dealership. Looking back, this should have been a warning sign of the tumultuous experience that lay ahead with ********* and Palisades Funding.Following numerous visits to the dealership to address these issues, I eventually decided to return the 2018 E300 due to its persisting electrical problems. It's important to note that I had the vehicle for only a month at this point. They had sold me a car with a non-functioning headlight, which was truly unacceptable. In addition to these mechanical troubles, I also had a concerning encounter with one of the owners, *****, who is known to have a questionable reputation, as evident from my ****** search results and his involvement in a case related to ****. After I voiced my concerns to him, he agreed to exchange my car for another one. However, when I went to the dealership, I was met with poor treatment by the manager, who couldn't comprehend why I wanted to part with a used car with a defective headlight. The irony of this situation was not lost on me. Ultimately, they offered me a 2019 ******** A220, which was priced at $29,000 at that time. It's important to mention that I had already paid $10,000 in cash as a down payment.I continued to own this vehicle until last month. In late June, I fell behind on my payments due to a bank error. I maintained open communication with them throughout this period and was on the verge of settling the full arrears by mid-August. At that point, I asked them whether I needed to surrender the vehicle for three days while I arranged the payment. To my surprise, one of their VPs promptly responded, insisting that I surrender the vehicle. I complied and contacted the repossession agent to arrange the collection. On August 15th, I reached out to Palisades again, inquiring about the process of retrieving the vehicle. They informed me that I would have to await a letter via mail before I could pick up the vehicle. I patiently waited for the letter, only to discover that I had roughly two weeks to come up with a staggering $30,000. The rapid escalation from owing $3,500 to $30,000 within days left me baffled. At this point, I had already paid approximately $39,000 for a car originally priced at $29,000, with several years of payments remaining.Despite my numerous attempts to contact Palisades, they failed to respond to my emails until after the date by which I could recover the vehicle had passed. It became evident that they never intended for me to retrieve the vehicle. Subsequently, after the sale date had passed, they provided me with their attorney's contact information, and I have yet to hear from them. The practices employed by Palisades Funding, *********, and Palisades Collections appear to be predatory. I am seeking assistance from relevant agencies to resolve this matter, as it is beyond my capacity to address this unethical situation on my own.

On or about 8/25/2023 while still discussing with the customer his loan status, the customer cancelled the vehicles insurance. The customer's vehicle was voluntarily surrender on or about 8/28/2023. Meaning the customer authorized us to pick up the vehicle. When the vehicle was repossessed on 8/28/2023 the account was 4 months delinquent, the vehicle was not properly insured, and the registration had been suspended. On the day the vehicle was repossessed the customer inquired as to a timing on when he could pick up his vehicle. It was explained to him that he would receive a letter from us advising of the repossession and once that was done his account would be reviewed and he would have the opportunity to redeem the vehicle. When the customer received the letter, he claimed to have retained an attorney. Palisades in turn forwarded the account to our counsel. The customer has the opportunity to redeem the vehicle by curing the defaults in his loan. The timeline to cure the defaults is limited and if that is the intent the customer should communicate this. As of the date of this answer there has been no affirmative action by the customer to resolve the defaults.

I financed a 2015 *** x4 with $4,000.00 cash down at ****************** in Bronx ** (aka *********) December 2022. I told them (management at the dealership and finance company) that the money I was putting down for the car was the only money I had in the bank and I would not receive another paycheck until 2 weeks later. After paying $600 to car insurance, I had $120 to my name to live off. I missed a car payment in January because I was out of work on an unpaid leave. My car was repossessed while I was at work. The repo man came into my job to tell me to come get my things out of the car, and that he was taking the car because he was told I was rude and missed a payment. My job reimbursed me in the amount of $5,000. I called and told the finance company (Pallisades) and was told I wouldnt be able to get my car back unless I paid the full balance of over $24,000.00 or I add a co-signer to my loan, which wasnt the agreement I signed for.

We financed a 2015 *** X4 (*****************) for ******************** in December 2022 with a first payment due 1/12/2023. On 1/17/2023 we received and email from ******************** authorizing a *** to be processed. On 1/20/2023 ******************** advised our office she would like to hold off on processing the **** later that same day she requested we process the *** for her payment on 1/23/2023. The *** was processed on 1/23/2023. On 1/26/2023, ******************** contacted our office and advised us the *** that was processed was going to be returned. On 1/27/2023 we attempted to contact ******************** with no response. On 1/31/2023 we contacted ******************** requesting a payment to cover the *** from earlier in the following week; she indicated that she would attempt to make a payment by Friday, 2/3/2023, but was unclear if she would be able to fulfill the payment. On both 2/6/2023 and 2/7/2023 we attempted to contact ******************** on both days we were unsuccessful. On 2/7/2023, and with no recent contact it was decided to put the vehicle out for repossession. The vehicle was repossessed on 2/9/2023. I am rejecting this response because:

I contacted the office after they reached out to and said my paycheck comes biweekly. When I signed the finance contract I told them I put every dollar I had into financing the car ($4,000). The dealership said they would work with me as long as I told them what was going on. So, later when I was coming off of medical leave of absence from work, I was asked for a co-signer when I didnt have one, and had used every ***** for the car and was waiting on my next paycheck to make a $784 car payment after owing the insurance the dealership set up for me, $594 which overdraft my account at the time. I communicated I would make my payment as soon as I got paid. I was not given a chance to pay. I was not made aware my vehicle would be put out for repossession because they wanted to blindside me. They told the repo agent I was rude so they werent going to give me a proper chance to finance the vehicle. Giving me terms of finding a co-signer when they know I dont have one. Which is why my down payment was so large. ****** told me should would get back to me multiple times and never called me. They sent my car for repossession out of spite and nothing else. I can afford that car. I want this taken off my credit report. They are trying to spite me.

    Regards,
