  On September 30, 2024, I purchased gas at the BP gas station located at **** ***** ****** ***** in Vineland, NJ. The posted price for gas was $2.75 a gallon. I used my debit card and noticed today, that I was charged $78.83. I checked the gallons the day of the transaction which was 20.9 gallons. If I received 20.9 gallons of gas at $2.75 the total should have only been around 57 dollars. Defintely not almost 79 dollars. The transaction on my statement lists it as a check card purchase BP #******* at $78.83. I was never asked if I wanted a receipt and was never provided one at the time of the transaction. Could someone please assist me with this problem as I was overcharged by more than 20 dollars? This is the response I received after I was told to email BP via a quick phone conversation. To answer your question, some independently owned and operated BP stations may offer cash discounts to cash paying customers to avoid credit card fees and may charge regular price for credit card usage. These independent stations may also charge the credit price to process debit cards. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, BP cannot interfere with the established policies and promotions these independent stations may offer.
