Good afternoon. I hired the services of New Mexico legal group at July 22 of 2022. I got assigned a lawyer called Mark P. He asked for $5000 dollars up front to get my divorce going. I paid in full, had that amount deposited on their account. He said he would keep contact with me. Months passed, part of the agreement was for them to take care of the interrogatories stated by the courts and that never happened. My divorce case got dragged with no work done. When I fired mark in October 11 of 2022 due to his lack of being responsive with me or not having any vital work done (interrogatories was the priority) I got a email stating that they spent $4439.44 dollars of the deposit I had with them. I tried to get in contact with Mark but I would get her paralegal assistant, which had a attitude when I questioned how is it possible that they spend that amount of money and my case at court had no work done and had to do it on my own on the deadline since I thought and trusted them that they were being legit and professional with me The last time I tried to contact Mark P he sent me a email stating that the itemized bill was sent to me explaining the expenses made, which was odd since I would get a monthly statement from NM legal group and in all those months the emails stated that my deposit was in full and haven't used any of the money until to the last month when I had him fired. I attached the statements with this complaint. Got a refund check from NM legal group of $560.56 dollars in November 23 of 2022. It would be optimal if I can pay them the fair price of their services rendered and get the rest of my money back. I came to the USA six years ago and was the stay in home parent for 4 years and had to depend financially of my ex wife so I could take care of our new born son. I separated 2 years ago, and worked my way out of it. Those $5000 dollars were most of my personal savings. Any aid you can provide towards this matter its greatly appreciated.
