I was told by **** ****** that work would be completed by August 24. it is still not completed. Now I get NO response from phone messages or texts to determine when the pantry will be installed int he kitchen. After not hearing from ****, I called Home Depot to inquire about the pantry so I could get it and do the installation myself. I was told by the store manager that there is no record of a order. So now I am thinking I will never hear from Josh again, even though I paid him the full amount to complete the job.

Yes we did provide our services to *** ****** for a kitchen pantry to be installed, unfortunately we had some unexpected events happen in my family that caused a delay on being able to install the pantry. We had contacted *** explaining the situation and also letting him know that we would get back to him with a time and date we could be there for completion( which we did do, I have text to prove). When *** asked us to just return the pantry and get him a refund, we had no issue with doing so, and need to simply just meet up for the $360.00 refund he requested for. My phone is temporarily broken and I'm awaiting a new one at the moment. We did provide *** with my girlfriends number that he could have contacted me through but chooses to state I was unreachable which is not the case. Refund of 360.00 is all that is owed not 1000.00 and I have documents of everything including invoices.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because I never received a text stating when they would return to install the pantry.  This entire episode seems to be headed in a direction where it will be my word against Josh's word; and I hate to see that happen.  There were many occasions in the two month period where I didn't know when Josh would arrive to do the work, or what work would be done.  I spoke to him about communicating more and it helped for a brief time but not long.  There were two occasions where automobile tires were to blame for not showing up, one occasion where the tire on the trailer caused a half day delay, another occasion where they were stuck in Espanola.  There were more days of no show or showing up 3 to 4 hours late with no communication, than what I would call a normal day of showing up and working to 5 or 6 pm.  Also, the work done was substandard and that is the reason I am seeking $1000.  Not only the money for the pantry we paid for, but to complete and re-do work that is not acceptable.  Some of the work is:  replace EFI outlet above kitchen counter, replace molding between new floor and old floor rather than using baseboard meant for the wall, installing a new pantry which was never done,  replacing baseboard that is "pieced" together rather than only one piece, small sections of baseboard in laundry and broom closet area, etc.  There are several pictures of what we feel is unacceptable.  The time, expense, and effort to complete that work, which is what Josh M***** was hired to do; will be our expense and we are asking for $1000 to cover that.

I will send pictures in another email very soon.

    Regards,

Our last walk through with *** and his wife ***** was to our knowledge to the expectation and that's when they made the final payment, my question would be why would they have made their final payment if the work was not to their expectations and why was it not brought to my attention Intel now about any issues due to this statement. As for the delay on work, we did have a contract in play that states no certain time frames are in place for time of work hours, I'll submit the copy of contract in another message stating this

We made a total of $8026.89 to Jmartinshandyman on four separate occasions..  On the last occasion, it was a final walkthrough where we pointed out the few things that still remained to be completed.  This included a pantry, electrical outlet repair, and baseboard/molding to be completed.  He agreed to do so, therefore, I paid him.  But then there was confusion about when he would show up to do the work, and never let me know what his plans were.  This was a common tactic throughout the work.

I am currently completing the final steps myself.  I am 69 years old and unable to work like I once did, but it is worth it to me to not have the confusion and frustration of waiting and wondering if and when Jmartinshandyman would show up and/or do the work.

That is why I am asking for $1000.  The work was NOT completed, NOT done properly, and NOT done in a timely manner.

We did have communication with *** and the day he told us he didn't want us to come complete the job was the same day I had updated him on our schedule, and asking 1000.00 is completely unbelievable considering the invoicing deal we had helped him with, for his insurance. I have in no way rejected any requests from *** and we did do the job to the standards that was giving to us, yes unfortunately scheduled time got some unexpected events that caused it to have to be changed, but we did not avoid *** and we kept him up to date when he called and asked or messaged. I still to this day have had no issues with completing what we agreed on and correcting the " mishaps" he's claiming there was. I don't believe his claims on here are accurate and I believe he was just trying to get this job at the lowest cost possible which we already helped and provided discounts and such, but clearly was not enough to him. There for I do agree we will pay him the 360 for the pantry if he already got it done, but I don't believe a penny more is owed.
