Bingham was called to our home by Loyalty Plumbing after discovering water damage in our home on 3.12.24. On 3.13.24 two technicians arrived and began the wall removal. After completing the project of the day the techs left and I discovered a tech had dropped a tool and broken my tile. I immediately called Bingham and asked for a supervisor to contact me. Only the following day did I receive a call stating it would be covered to repair the tile but maybe the tech didnt realize he damaged your tile. I stated I had home surveillance that shows when it occurred and the tech taking a photo. Again, not only was this not brought to my attention the day it occurred, but now they are trying to pass blame. Project manager stated oh, I do see a photo uploaded. It is now 3.24.24 and I have yet to receive an invoice for the work done, any information on what has been completed, and when their mistake will be repaired. I have spoken to so many people and not one person has given me a clear answer or a written response or email as requested for over a week and the interaction with this company has been nothing short of unprofessional on their behalf. A manager called me over a week ago and stated I could call with any questionsI have not heard from him since 3.15.24 and left numerous messages. I was told to call back on the 23rd for my invoice and of course no one was in office. This company does not take any accountability for their mistakes nor do they communicate with their customers. I have photos, names, and statements for all above mentioned claims.Business response

This business, inclusive of a handful of businesses listed under the same name on the BBB web site showing the owner as *************************, fraudulently billed me for services not performed, sent unlicensed subcontractors to my home, did not provide estimates, had employees who sexually harassed me, and generally were unprofessional and behaved unethically. I fired them and told them to come get their equipment, but they refused to do so until it was convenient for them, yet billed me for the days in between. Their billing included services not provided and, after complaint, refused to negotiate honest, appropriate charges. I then rece3ived threats from an attorney. My loss was from a leak experienced by my neighbor, who also fired them for lack of communication and professionalism. I have filed a complaint with the ******* Attorney General for consumer fraud. Outcome is pending.Customer response

On 4/14/2023 I had a minor water leak in my bathroom that soaked the floor and some carpet. The plumber I hired recommended Bingham Restoration to me. Bingham brought 4 pieces of drying equipment to my house and then talked over some options for repairs. They kept mentioning I would only be responsible for paying my insurance deductible and that would be it. Bingham also had a pack out company move my bedroom furniture to the garage. Before Bingham did any work my insurance company sent an adjustor out who was not able to approve doing more work than replacing some carpet pad and a small wall repair. I sent several texts to Bingham requesting they pick up their drying equipment several times over the following days, but they kept putting my off. The drying equipment was in my house about 10 days. Due to limited repair authorized by my insurance adjustor Bingham Restoration, nor anyone else connected to them performed any repair work. My insurance company was billed a total of $5,182.00 by Bingham and $2,400 by the pack out company. My insurance company only agreed to pay Bingham $882.00 as that is a comparable average for their service. And $117.00 to the pack out company I was instructed to pay the law firm representing Bingham Restoration and the packout company my $1,000 deductible to settle the claim. Which I have paid. I received a notice that they want to bill me an additional $900 out of pocket for their services. As I have paid my deductible amount, which according to them was all I would be responsible for, I feel the additional $900 is not a warrented amount, especially considering I requested they pick up their equipment and they would not do so.Initial Complaint

My 86-year old mother had a water heater give out December 15, 2022. The plumbing company called Bingham Restoration, who came out after hours to do the water mitigation work, which they did (no complaints and only thanks to them for the work done). The issue is now with the billing. Bingham uses a company called ****************** for billing. Starting in March, they contact my mother asking her to pay the bill for Bingham. That was the first time any bill from Bingham was ever provided to my mother. By that time, she had already paid her deductible and whatever money State Farm had sent her to the rebuild company, which was the only invoice she had received to date. So, now she has just about $1300 of money from State Farm, which she mailed as a check to *****. My mother has already paid her deductible on this claim and her policy covers replacement cost, so any other payments have to go through State Farm, her insurer. I have emailed with ***************************,Senior Billing Specialist, with ****************** about this, and have cc'd my mother's State Farm agent as well as the State Farm Claims estimator on that email explaining this. Today, my mother gets an invoice for the full &******* saying she must pay the whole thing to them or they may escalate the matter further as in a lawsuit and that she'll then be liable for the attorney's fees. The whole lot of them -- ****************** and it's co-founder *******************, esq, and State Farm -- are not working together, and instead my 86-year old mother is being threatened with a lawsuit by *****/******************/Bingham Restoration unless she sends the amount of the entire bill for Bingham. Nothing like trying to fleece an 86 year old woman out of her money instead of working with the insurance company to finalize the payment. What a nice group of people. It is not my mother's fault that State Farm is not paying out on this in a timely manner. State Farm holds some responsibility here too.Business response

Hello,I am following up from the query on the BBB complaint I filed.Attached is the *** of the bill and request for payment that my mother, *********************, received from ******************/***** Law asking her to fully pay the $7393.84 invoice for Bingham Restoration, who billed for the mitigation work that they did after her water heater flooded her basement in *******, ****. Please note that the area code 520 at the bottom of the Bingham Restoration estimate from December is, most certainly, an ******* area code. Note also that ****************** and ***** Law are ******* companies.Because my mother is almost 87 years old and very confused by all of the different players in this disaster, I am now handling the correspondence and work for her on this.Business response

Chalsea,Yes, understand that. Completely different LLC in **** (which can cause confusion). We have brought up this concern in the past as this has happened a couple of times over the last 5 years. Since all of our different locations throughout the ** independently owned; they are all independently managed. The **** Branch is separately owned and operated. I understand that it may be ******* for the documentation (which is where the home office is at) but this is not an ******* customer and should be reflected based off of a **** branch BBB page.I want to do everything I can to assist the customer but the ******* Branches have no access to information for the **** locations. I have reached out to the main corporate HUB to pass along the information to that specific location and they have confirmed they will be reaching out to handle. But, this has no direct reflection of how the ******* Branches conduct business or their specific processes. As to the reason why we would like them removed from our specific Southern ******* page. Our previous rep from the BBB was aware of this (countless phone calls and email communication).I hope that makes sense!Best Regards,

I hired bingham to work on my bathroom after water and mold damage occurred. During demo they damaged multiple items, broke a plumbing valve which flooded another bathroom, left my water running in multiple locations, and entered areas of the house that were not in their scope of work.Business response

We've attempted to remedy this situation on multiple occasions. Our Branch Manager also went out to the home. Customer was trying to get rebuild to start after we were done and we kept advising her, that she has to wait for approval. She insisted on moving forward with a friend that was at *** Construction. In our attempts to make her happy we also replaced her toilet, fan and vanity. Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:They claim to have fixed stuff to 'make me happy', what they failed to mention is how much stuff they broke during demo that was to be reused per the insurance claim. Because the insurance refused to pay for the stuff that Bingham broke by being careless. Bingham broke an angle stop in the bathroom they were initially working on, and subsequently flooded the rooms beneath it. They were required to fix the issues they created, not just 'to make me happy', but because I started speaking to my attorney and was going toward legal action if they didn't. During their tenure working in my house, it was one issue after another (in leaving the water running in closed off rooms with fans running, breaking and losing reusable items, going into areas of the home that they had no need to be in at all and leaving the water running in there as well). I chose to work with another company a friend referred after working with Bingham became more stressful and hazardous than it was worth. As I mentioned before, I was already in talks with my attorney about further actions against this company when I sought out a more competent company, fired Bingham from doing any further work, and requested that they find, replace, or fix the excess damage that THEY CREATED.
Sincerely,

Customer is stating that we have yet to cover damaged property and have not responded.
We indeed had communication with the customer, this was when we replaced her toilet, fan and vanity. No other concerns were brought up during that time. We believe to have satisfied this matter. Thank you!
