The company did not provide the services they claimed they would. I was supposed to receive 75 leads and only received 45. The lead quality was not what was promised. Most of the leads had no addresses and none of the leads were actually interested in solar. Not one single deal was made and only one person even agreed to receive a proposal. The company claimed before hand that out of 75 leads about 15 would sit down for a proposal and about 5 of those people would move forward. I was working with professionals who have been in the solar business for 10+ years so it was not the teams fault. I addressed my concerns to the company after the month had finished and the best they said they could do was give me a $1,000 discount on a new campaign. Overall they made false claims about their marketing campaigns and it was a total scam.Business response

Hi ********,
We apologize that our estimates and projections for the campaigns did not materialize. Our projections for campaign performance are in fact only "estimates", and this is outlined in our agreement where we state that we cannot specifically guarantee any results since many factors of an online marketing campaign is outside of our control. That being said, we are willing to offer you a free month worth the same value of what you have paid so far, but we will need to speak with you regarding resolving this complaint so you can get your money back. Please email ***************************** and we can offer you the free campaign of equal value to your request for refund.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:The issue was not just with quantity but also with the quality. The leads didnt have addresses and the leads were not pre-qualified. The leads that signed up for an appointment never showed up and also had none of the customers information. Ive talked to multiple experts in the field and you guys misrepresented your companys marketing success. You say that results are estimates in your agreement but I had multiple conversations over the phone with your account manager and multiple times he stated that I could expect about 15 appointments and about 5 to close. Regardless of what the writing says in your document you guys did not relay the same information over the phone. We ended up with 0 appointments and 0 sales. Also you guys state that the campaign gets better towards the end and almost force customers to continue on another campaign with you guys because you say it takes almost 3 weeks for it to heat up and theyve already dumped $5,000 at that point. You make the customer feel like they have to spend more with you guys just to potentially see if you can even get qualified leads. These are shady tactics to extract more money from solar sales professionals. I am going to contact the email you provided and consider a free month of leads but I would much rather be provided some sort of refund. Ive already filed a dispute with my bank.
Sincerely,

Mr. ********* has disputed charges and we now have to await for the results from the bank. Since he has chosen to process the chargeback, the refund is already in motion as the funds have been withdrawn from the company account. The free month would only be offered if the dispute is reversed. Once this is resolved we will reach out with the offer of a free month.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I do not see that the funds have been credited back to my account. Also you guys have even restricted my access to the leads that you did provide me with. Thats totally illegal as I paid for those leads, they arent yours to take back. I will be escalating this situation. I also have co-worker willing to write a letter regarding your business practices. He was burned by you guys for $5,000 in the past. I want this issue resolved properly. Please contact me by email or phone I would like to speak with a manager.

Buyer Beware! What I was sold on exclusive solar leads that are qualified by an internal call center. What I was delivered as soon as we paid for the campaign we were told not to rely on the call center. Well then why are we paying you to put together a cheap landing page and run social media ads? Over 50% of the leads were bad numbers and bots. Most came in between 10pm-5am. For the entire month of their service we got 2 appointments. We paid $5,000 for 2 appointments. Of those two, both had been contacted by the ********************, solar exclusives advertising arm, and scheduled appointments with other solar companies as well. This completely goes against the concept of exclusive solar leads. We also had appointments with clients who said they thought this was a green energy program and they were not interested in solar since they already had it on their home. Whats the point of the call center if theyre not qualifying the customers? What did they do when we brought this to their attention? Nothing. They said they were experiencing an unpredicted bot attack on their ads, but we wouldnt be charged for bad leads. How exactly would we not be charged when weve already paid for a month of their service? Well ends up that we still were charged the full amount despite the dismal performance of the *********** surprised because I have friends who used solar exclusive in the past and they had a much better experience. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Youre better off knocking on doors.Business response

To the BBB,
We take complaints very seriously at Solar Exclusive, and would like to provide context for this complaint.
We always recommend running these campaigns for a minimum of 3 months, since the first month can be a "learning phase" for digital marketing campaigns. We fully disclose to our clients that the first month may not generate any measurable results, even though this only occurs 10% of the time, it is a very real possibility, and why we don't specifically guarantee any results in writing.
To provide context, we offered this service for free during a promotional period for a 30-day free trial. A majority of clients who tried the 30-day free trial found success (we offered it for one month in 2024, and do not plan on running it again), and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused the client since they did not experience the same benefits as others. However, it's important to note that we did not get paid by the client to perform the service, since we ran a temporary promotion which this client took advantage of. All $5,000 of his investment was not kept by us but spent on the ****** ads platform. We offered this service free of charge, so there is nothing to refund, since ****** doesn't allow for refunds of advertising budgets. If the client would like to write ******, they can do so, but this money was not kept by us but spent on ******... so there is nothing left to refund since we offered this promotional month free of charge.
As far as invalid clicks are concerned, this is a normal part of ****** advertising as evidenced by the chart attached from ******'s platform. As you can see, a very high percentage of all clicks (in red) were "invalid" clicks according to ******, which come from bots or spammers. Since they are recognized by ****** as such, they are not charged, and the remainder of the ad budget is spent on valid clicks. We are not lying when we stated that ****** credits invalid clicks from bots (so you do not pay for invalid clicks), and we cannot change a normative part of the digital marketing landscape, despite how frustrating it is to receive non-working numbers when running a digital marketing campaign for lead generation. It is simply a normal part of the process of advertising online, and we cannot control how the internet works.
As far as our call center is concerned, we recommend that clients do not rely 100% on our call center support, since they are not only receiving appointments generated byt he call center, but also the raw data leads which would be unwise to not follow up on their own since the data is something they paid for and should manage appropriately.
Regarding the qualification of appointments, we did not receive a request from the client to disqualify interested leads who had solar, although if communicated to us during the campaign, this could have been changed and adjusted with ample time to spare had the client communciated with us.
Message to the client for resolution:
To **** & Dor,
Some things are normal in advertising online and should be expected, such as: expecting competitors to fill out lead forms, bots to click on ads, and a varied number of risks outside of anyone's control (such as market competition, regulatory matters, compliance lags, algorithmic unpredictability, lack of intent-based clicks within certain regions or targeting, or auction bid prices at a given period of time). A combination of all of these scenarios could have contributed to your lack of results, for which we are not responsible, and since we did not actually charge you for the services provided (whether for digital ad services or call center support), there is nothing to refund.
We understand this may be difficult news to hear (since the money has been kept by ****** and we have nothing else that we charged for this promotional trial with which to refund), however, we would like to offer you another complimentary month where we cover the amount of ad spend to try and turn this complaint into a better situation. Please email: ***************************** to take advantage of this promotional offer, which will cost you $0, to try and mend the situation. We can assign you to a new account manager, if you prefer, so please mention if you'd like us to do that when you email us requesting a free month of ad spend and service on us. Thanks for understanding and we wish you the best of luck in your business regardless of what you decide to do going forward for your marketing needs.Initial Complaint

Company refuses to respond: The BBB and any potential customers of ********************** need to read this and take seriously that Solar Exclusive is the definition of an expensive SCAM. I lost $10,000 to them. They use the bait and switch tactic of telling you they are building a customized ad campaign for you, which takes weeks to build. After I paid and the campaign started, I realized they clearly werent qualifying the leads and setting appointments. I started to question what they were doing. I was then told that they actually do not run ads for the contracts where they set appointments. They said that they call old leads and try to set appointments. They lied to me from the beginning. It gets worse. Most of the leads were largely unqualified and most of them claimed they didn't set an appointment. Unqualified examples: already have solar panels, unqualified home types/power company, invalid contact info, no credit/income, in a FOREST, rental properties. I requested over five times proof of the recorded calls where they supposedly qualified and set appointments with these leads. They refused to do so every time. They did not fulfill my contract of 40 QUALIFIED APPOINTMENTS. In response to this review, they will post a copy of the contract. I am fully aware of what the contract states and they did not fulfill it. They were to run an exclusive campaign: dedicated marketing campaign Solar Exclusive will ask thorough questions to attempt to the best of their ability that a homeowner qualifies based on Clients desired specifications. The desired specifications were discussed in detail on a recorded zoom call. They will not provide documentation of this recorded call either. Solar Exclusive made no reasonable attempts to qualify the solar leads within industry standards. I sent constant feedback as to why the leads blatantly didnt qualify. They would make excuses and promise to address these issues. The issues were never addressed.Business response

We contacted the *************************** to review resolution options as well as the contract terms she agreed to. We offered her ***** FREE leads for her to call on and she refused this offer stating that she was not interested in calling and setting her own appointments. The value of the free leads far exceeded the value of the refund she was requesting. The fully executed agreement requires work on the part of the client and from what we are able to ascertain, she was not willing to put in that effort to secure deals. Additionally, included in the services we provided, she was given access to training on how to close deals even with the most challenging appointments. The complaint she posted is one-sided and does not reflect the terms and conditions she agreed to when signing the contract.Business response

I am not satisfied with this response. I contracted with Solar Exclusive for APPOINTMENTS that have been set with qualified homeowners. From Solar Exclusive's own admission, they did not deliver the actual appointments and they did not qualify the leads. They refused to provide ANY proof that they had done so. They sent me a list of unqualified leads. I am rejecting their response of offering me an extra lead list. I am due a refund because I did not contract them for a lead list. I contracted them for appointments. If you take 2 minutes to scan the numerous complaints with this company, it is very apparent that they are not delivering on their contracts. If they refuse to offer a refund, I will have no choice but to pursue this matter further in court.Customer response

I had such high hopes for everything to work out. Paid $3,000. The very next few days the owner is pumping out heavy ads on FB and IG about not paying anything up front and not paying anything if they dont deliver. After one month I received 18 leads. Of the 18 -2 were good however with those two one wasnt ready for 8 months to do anything and the other received a card that no outside contractors can work in their building.5 were out of the area 1 person was looking for work 5 leads no answer. Called and continue to call multiple times around different times every day. Even to this day. And even different numbers. No answer ever.2 leads never requested anything.2 leads were expecting it for free per the ad they were responding to.1 lead was bad contact info This is a pretty bad performance and the owner is all over FB guaranteeing results. I wrote a ****** review and they called me immediately offering to work out a refund to take the review down. I did and they pulled a fast one saying they can only do $500. Thats unacceptable. They didnt perform and want me to continue to pay more money. Very disappointedCustomer response

Upon visiting their company website following a ****** search for leads, I encountered promising offers and a 30-day free trial with no obligations. Intrigued, I scheduled a call with a representative to delve into the details. During our conversation, I outlined my background as a solo solar sales consultant seeking growth opportunities. However, the representative quickly dismissed my suitability, citing the program's intended audience as established entities due to the hefty monthly fees of $5,000 plus $2,500 in overhead costs, totaling $7,500 per month. I expressed my belief that if the program delivered as promised, the fee would be justified for any business. The representative then queried whether I could afford the $7,500, to which I reiterated my interest in the initially advertised 30-day trial. Shockingly, he claimed the offer had expired in April, despite my confirmation that it extended to May 30th. Feeling deceived, I accused them of employing bait-and-switch tactics to extract money from aspiring entrepreneurs. I am appalled by such fraudulent practices and advocate for their swift cessation and legal repercussions.Business response

The offer that was listed on our website and discussed with our agent was a Free Trial Offer regarding Services Only - in this case the $2,500 Retainer, for the first month would be waived. The $5,000 charges are for the actual ******* and ****** ad spend which was never offered for free. These are actual costs that are incurred in order to run a client's campaign. This was outlined in the fine print. Additionally, the Terms and Conditions stated that "Terms Apply". This was further explained during the call with our Account Manager. This was NOT a Bait-and-Switch tactic as we have been accused of. This person misunderstood the offer and falsely accused our company of being deceptive.Business response

They still want to keep charging us the membership fee without fulfilling the first month that we already paid for.I expected WAY more out of a company that has been 9yrs in business doing this and supposedly 5 reviews.BTW I know MULTIPLE people that got involved in this same membership and are extremely unhappy. The fully executed agreement, signed by this client, details the terms regarding the product to be received. This client signed a 2 month agreement which was launched on February 27, 2024 and was to extend through April 26, 2024. As part of the agreement, the client committed to paying $12,000.00 over the 2 month period in exchange for 40 appointments over this same term. The contract specifically stated that the 40 appointments would be met over the course of the contract. If, at the end of the contract, the 40 appointments were not provided, Solar Exclusive would continue to run the campaign until the Guarantee Minimum was met. This client disregarded these terms using their own metrics to determine the effectiveness of the campaign. Stating that 20% was not fulfilled in less than a month does not reflect the terms they agreed to when the contract was signed.
Regarding unqualified appointments, the contract included remedies specifically designed to ensure that the client receives appointments in accordance with the contract. All of the qualifications were detailed in Section 5 of the contract and clearly explained how Solar Exclusive would resolve any appointments that did not meet the requirements.
The client also referred to this contract as a Membership which is an inaccurate representation of the agreement. This was a contract with a guarantee: Client pays for 2 months in exchange for 40 appointments. They agreed to be billed the second month by signing the agreement and payment authorization.
The entire agreement was created for the success of the client including the very generous remedies provided. Instead of seeking resolution through the contract terms, this client chose to defame our name across multiple online platforms including the Better Business Bureau.
In order to resolve this matter, we have chosen to cancel the fully executed agreement and offer the client a full refund of $6,000.00. This has been accepted by the client and the matter has been resolved in their favor.

I was pitched on using solar exclusive for my lead source when they were telling me that I would receive "60 guaranteed appointments" for the price of $15,000. I was thinking that was a very expensive price for them but the Rep from the company assured me that they are fully qualified and set appointments. I responded to him saying "oh thats cool! it is like I have my own door knocker qualifying the lead that they are legitimately interested and a good candidate for solar." he responded "yes thats right." Over the course of the 3 months I got a total of 2 actual appointments with people that sat down with me and would listen to a presentation. One of those two people were mentally ill and I found out from their family member after I arrived to the house. Every single other "appointment" that I received either 1. Would not answer the phone for me. 2. Would immediately tell me that they were not interested and that they did not want the appointment set. 3. Would tell me within 15 seconds of the phone call their credit score and it was far too low for them to be qualified as a solar candidate. These were $250 each.I notified my rep from the company multiple times that the "appointments" coming in were extremely inadequate. He assured me to just be patient and give it time to mature. He said multiple times, "it wasn't a matter of getting an ROI, it was just a matter of how much." I calmed down and decided to just trust him and the company thinking surely they would take care of me with the high price I paid. Now we are at the end of the time frame and the appointments never improved. They were not "appointments" they were simply just "leads" and very bad ones at that. My wife and I are super distraught over this. We just had a baby and this company has taken $15k from us and I haven't been able to make any sales to show from it whatsoever. We were already struggling before hand and this has since made it much worse. I ask that you please help resolve this. ********Business response

Solar Exclusive provides Solar Clients with marketing services in order to assist them with acquiring new clients. The client signed a 3-month agreement for services with the option to extend month to month after the initial contracted term. Once the initial contract term was completed the client had the option to terminate services by providing a 30-day written notice. Additionally, the client agreed to the terms stating that results are not guaranteed with the success of the campaign based on his ability to convert the appointments provided to him into sales. The client also agreed to not processing disputes for charges as long as all payments aligned with the schedule outlined in the fully executed agreement.
Section 4 of the agreement details the structure of the contract where the client agreed to pay $15,000.00 for a total of 60 appointments over a 3-month period. Additionally, there is a built-in remedy clause where Solar Exclusive would continue the campaign until the minimum guaranteed was met. Section 5 of the agreement outlines the appointment qualifications along with the remedy for appointments that do not meet the billable criteria. Based on these 2 contract terms, it is clear that Solar Exclusive was committed to the clients success and would resolve any appointment issues that *** arise.Section 11 of the agreement details the terms regarding the clients results. Client agreed that the services provided in the fully executed agreement are for educational and informational purposes only. Client accepted, agreed and understood that he was fully responsible for his results. Client also agreed that by signing the contract, he understood that Claiming Solar Exclusives products and services are unacceptable is in violation of the fully executed agreement.
In order to support the clients success, Solar Exclusive provides an extensive training program that covers all aspects of working the appointments, supporting the clients success. Clients are instructed, during the onboarding process, to go through the training BEFORE their campaign launches. The instructions provided in the Training Portal directs the client to WATCH ALL VIDEOS. All of the issues and objections the client listed in his complaint are addressed in this portal including how to address a customer when they claimed they were not interested in solar, when they dont answer the phone, or say they did not set the appointment. These are common objections which all have a response video available in the Training Portal. We do not set appointments unless the homeowner agrees to a solar appointment. Going through 100% of the training, as the client was directed, is vital for them to know how to get past these common objections. The client only completed 71% of the required training and therefore unable to successfully counter the objections he encountered when calling the homeowners.
In good faith, Solar Exclusive offered 5 additional appointments, valued at $1,250.00 along with a $5,000.00 refund. This offer was declined on March 6, 2024.
We are willing to work with this client to come up with a reasonable remedy to this complaint. We are committed to our clients success and provide each with the tools to close deals and grow their companies. The attached letter includes copies of Section 4,5 and 11 of the fully executed agreement.

I am rejecting this response because I did watch all of the videos that were on your platform. I rewatched some even and that is likely why is is showing those as incomplete because I went back to watch them again. I am a very experienced a successful sales rep and understand when a lead or an appointment is viable and workable and when they aren't even close. The appointments given to me were not anything close to being closable solar appointments. I have sold a lot of solar accounts and I know what a good appointment was.You guaranteed 60 appointments and told me I would make an ROI for such an expensive price and yet no one even answers the phone. You said you were setting up ads to get fresh leads yet the appointments that I got were clearly old and outdated leads from previous campaigns. The ones that would answer the phone would tell me within the first 15 seconds that their credit score was really low OR would tell me that they never set an appointment which leads me to believe that you lied about the customer being interested. There is no reason why a customer would go from setting an qppointment with you and say they are interested to answering the phone for me 1 min later and saying that complete polar opposite of what you are claiming that they told you. Things aren't adding up. Regardless if I am paying $250 for each appointment then I expect them to, at the very least, answer their phone, and be interested. I don't think that is too much to ask for that price you charge.
I haven't been unreasonable in my expectations or my requests. I asked for more appointments until I received 60 INTERESTED phone calls with people. I told you on the phone over and over that I just want to make my money back on this investment and I would let it all go. I didn't get a fighting chance to. Your company doesn't seem to care much about me losing $15,000 on your ad campaign. So now my new request is that I am refunded in full for the amount that I paid. I would like a refund of $15,000 and then I will be happy to settle and remove any negative posts from any other website and sign your NDA. But I won't be willing until that happens.
Sincerely,
