On August 18th, 2023, I purchased a 2014 ********** ****** from Global Motors in Binghamton. This car, at the time of purchase, had 69,477 miles on it, meaning I had a warranty of three months or three thousand miles. I have yet to exceed either of those limits. Since then, I have had to take my car in for repairs three times. I have had rotors and calipers replaced, as well as needed a new starter and a new camshaft. The cost of these repairs is approaching $2,000. I am a student at the University at Albany and my AAA will only cover three miles, so getting the car to Binghamton, on the not-unusual occasion that it won't start, is just as expensive as paying for the repairs myself. When I asked if Global Motors would tow the car themselves, they said no. If I wanted repairs done under the warranty that they set, I had to get the car to them myself, even after explaining to them that I could not do that. I would like to have my repairs reimbursed.Business response

Hi ****, On September 26, 2023 at 10:47AM I emailed you (as I was in prior emails you sent I responded soon as I can to all of them in proper time mater) to help you on best way we can resolve the issue you were having with your car, You never responded back to our last email and decided to not have any contact with our facility (Uploaded last email to this response). Unfortunately you are making false statement for brakes. We replace old Pads/Rotors with new Pads/Rotors on every car we sell. Unit we sold you (2014 ********** ******) we put brand new Rotors/ Pads on Front & Back on all 4 wheels one day before you picket it up, We also installed 4 New Tires Mount/ Balanced with an alignment on the unit (2014 ********** ******) prior to your agreed pick up day so please stop making false statement. We never heard from you with any brake issue on 9-23-23 at 12:36PM when you first time contacted us regarding your check engine issue you are having (Even then you never stated any false statement about brakes until you realized you need to bring the unit to our facility) and I emailed you back stating will be more then happy to have the check engine issue resolved please have the car dropped off at our facility to have the issue diagnosed and fixed at no cost to you. I also offered to pay couple hundred (Max $300.00) if the issue can be resolved at your area of residence at a near by repair facility you declined the offer by stating we need to have it towed back to our own facility at our cost or pay the repair shop what ever it cost to have it fixed. I responded to you, we are not responsible for bringing it to our facility thats your responsibility to drive it down to us and we are not responsible for paying another repair shop, Especially when we are offering to have it fixed at our facility at no cost to you when it is all covered by the warranty. By New York state Law I am responsible to have the check engine on the 2014 ********** ****** Diagnosed and repaired at no cost to you "at our facility" I never declined to have the check Engine diagnose and repaired I even offer to to work with a convenient time best work for you to have the unit driven down (Dropped off) at our facility to have it diagnosed and repaired at no cost to you. We are not responsible for bringing it to our facility thats is your responsibility too drive it down to us. you have 11 days until the warranty expires please schedule a time with me ASAP for drop off before 11-18-23 and will be happy to take care of any issue you are having with the unit. As fare as reimbursement goes we are not responsible for you deciding to take it to another repair shop to get the work done with out us having it authorized that will cover it. Warranty covers our facility not any other facility unless we have authorized the job to be completed at another facility, in this case we did not authorize anything to be repaired at any other facility out side of our facility. Thank you, DeloInitial Complaint

In March 2022 I bought my first car from Global Motors but the car started giving me problems in May 2022 so on May 21-2022 I purchased a second vehicle a ********** ********* ***** from Global Motors that had 61,123 miles. In the beginning of September of 2022 I experienced problems which almost caused an accident on an express way. I immediately took the car the dealership I got it from "Global Motors" in Binghamton NY, it was a Friday. On Monday evening after calling asking about my vehicle status. **** * prolonged to call me and then stated it needed a new transmission. Prior to it needing a new transmission I've taken the car to **** in July and August when a friend of my family notice a large amount of fluid pouring from my vehicle and he didn't check it on didn't find the need to check the concern I was having stating "it was just water from using the "A.C". **** stated that even though it's been less than 90 days that he won't do anything because I drove over 3,000 miles. I put over $7000 down on the first vehicle which I seen that he didn't include it my paperwork as he said he would. I am filing a report and I hope this can resolve and that others are aware so they're not purchasing unsafe vehicle. I feel this was dilerately done and I would like to have my concerns addressed because at 67,000 miles on a vehicle, a car shouldn't need a whole new transmission.Business response

Hi *** ****1- First unit purchased was a 2015 ******** **** ******* on 03-04-2022,In may she crashed the van, She called and stated the car does not drive the same anymore after the accident she had. Diagnosed it, transmission is slipping. She then asked can she trade it in for a new car doesn’t want to deal with the damage done to the van from her accident and just prefer to get in a SUV instead of a van (If for a second our facility was at fault she would not state I just don’t want to deal with the van after the accident can I trade it in) Tolled her sure np let me know what unit you prefer and ill submit a loan app to the bank for financing. She picked the 2016 ********** ********* ** (61,123Miles at time of purchase), Thanked me number of times and never saw her again for any problems. Around middle of July she stoped in and asked why when I have AC on their is a clear fluid on the ground by the front of the car, Explained to her that’s evaporator core leaks water from under the passenger side of the engine compartment when the air conditioner is being used. This is normal use. We both touched the ground where the car was parked and agreed it was water, She said ok thank you for explaining to me and left, Never heard from her by phone or stoped in person. 2- On 09-09-2022 ********* calls “hey I want to bring my car in for an oil change” I stated “No problem if you want drop it off if a unit cancels that’s scheduled for service, I can put your car in and have the oil change done or if you would like to set an appointment, Earliest opining we have is next week 9–15-22 in the morning 9:30AM and 10AM” She said lets do 10 AM Thursday 9–15-22, I put her on scheduled her for 9–15-22 at 10AM. On 9–10-2022 (Around Mid morning) She called “hey I’m at Walmart parking lot my car doesn’t feel right, can I come now just for you to look at it and see if its safe to drive” I said “sure stop in Ill look at it quick see what’s going on ” She comes in mid afternoon, asked her take a seat inside the office let me drive it up the road and back to see what is the symptoms your feeling she agreed, Drove up the street and came back to the facility parked it, I explained to her does not seem to responding when accelerating I can not give you an exact answer intel I have it diagnosed we prefer you to leave it with us and if a client does not show up to their scheduled appointment next week before Thursday your appointment date I will have the problem diagnose. She state “I just prefer to trade in and get a new bigger SUV this one is too small (Again if this was our fault why would she prefer to trade it in for a bigger suv) I stated to her “how about lets see what is wrong with the car first, before you purchase another car Maybe its a simple fix from using the car” she state “no It feels the same as my first car after I got in accident last month with this one too and I just prefer a bigger suv now for my daily things I do” I tolled her ok np, lets see what’s going on with your car first before making final decision because you just got this car at end of may and we are in September. ****** agrees to wait on my answer to first diagnose it before trading her 3 months, 20 days new car in. Diagnosed it Tuesday the 13th called her and tolled her transmission is bad, I Also mentioned it to her “when we had it on the lift we realized you drove this car 6,000 miles from May 05-21-22 to now 09-09-22, Did you get any service done (Oil Change, Tire rotation or anything) at any facility?” she stated “no I just drive it for work and take people to places” I tolled her “you are way over do for an oil change your doing more driving then an average driver does for their personal car and if that’s the case you use it for work you should be more cautious and on time for servicing your car just to make sure nothing goes wrong” She state “Its ok from now on ill do that, just trade it in for a bigger suv, I don’t want to fix the transmission” (Again if this was our fault at this point she would have claimed this is our facility fault, But she knew this is not our fault and she is responsible to make sure her car is maintained by using it every day for her work and daily errands) Tolled her “okay trade in value on the car with bad transmission is $11,000” she stated “No problem I want the Buick Enclave is a bigger SUV will suit my needs better” I applied for financing the Bank declines her application for a new loan do to delinquent on her current auto loan. Called her explained to her that she got declined and explained to her the only option you have with us is replacing the transmission, I explained to her the warranty is same warranty as I explained to you on first day you purchased the car and it is now expired due to time frame and miles unit has been driven, New York State Powertrain Law warranty is 60 days or 3,000 Miles what ever comes first” unfortunately we can not do anything from the warranty side because you drove over 3,000 miles and this happened 3 months 20 days later. She understood and agreed, to the warranty has expired, comes picks up her car. A week later she calls “hey took it to ********** dealership they confirmed its the transmission and they are going to cover 75% of the cost under the ********** manufacture warranty, I just have to pay 25% of the cost. I tolled her great happy you resolved the problem, She said to me number of times “Thank you ****” for all the help was very happy and we ended the call. 3- New York State Used Vehicle Dealer Limited Warranty Law (More then 36,000 Miles, But less then 80,000 Miles, Coverage will apply for 60 Days after delivery or 3,000 Miles whichever comes first) 4- Warranty has expired, she has owned the unit for 3 Months 20 Days and driven 6,000 Miles from the delivery date. For proof of her driving 6,000 miles from date of purchase please view the millage picture she has uploaded when she made this complaint and view the purchase order I uploaded when she purchased the car and current miles at time of the purchase. I hope you are having a wonderful day, Thank you! ****,OwnerCustomer response
