Our vehicle was towed and repaired by this shop. When picked up, my husband was told they were adding tax to our deductible (which was already included in payment from Geico). I called the next morning after speaking with my insurance agent who confirmed they cannot charge tax, and was told by Joe the owner that it was a “convenience fee” for using the credit card machine. Ironically the “convenience fee” was $43.75 which was the exact amount of Erie County sales tax at 8.6% on $500. This company is illegally charging its customers for tax when all tax is already included in the reimbursement from the insurance company. The owner stated I was ungrateful and that it would have taken an additional 2-3 weeks if it was repaired at the dealership instead. He was rude and verbally abusive. I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle to this scam artist.

The owner said that this consumer who filed the complaint was not the person he spoke with. He stated that there are certain fees that he charges. He noted that the check from Geico has not been paid for their services.  The owner explained that the husband understood but that the business has not been paid for their services. The business will be pursuing this in court.

May 10, 2022 just tow it moved my car from an auto repair shop to a dealership due ti a recall the tow company was chosen by them and in the process of getting my vehicle off the tow they made my car strike a pole damaging the car on both doors along with some rear 1/4 damage. I spoke with the owner 5/11/22 and I requested his insurance information which he refused to provide offering $300 prior to any estimate being done and said he would fix it himself because he’s not paying whatever the dealership wants because its too high. I again said due to his demeanor i’d just prefer your insurance info & since it’s already at the dealer they can fix it. The owner refused insurance info again saying he doesn’t want his rates to increase. He was upset because i didn’t want to handle it his way. I want his insurance info to get my car he damaged repaired

BBB spoke to the business and the following was relayed: We picked up the vehicle from one shop to bring to another. The actual car owner is a female but the car is in her brother's name. The car had a blown motor and unknown to us at the time it remained in neutral even when shifted to park. We dropped the vehicle off at the 2nd dealership and put the car in park. We unhooked and drove away. The car rolled back and hit a poll behind it at the dealership. We tried to call the client but they were not answering. We spoke to the dealer who contacted the customer. When we spoke to the customer, she said to give her $300 to resolve it. The car had already been damaged in the front and the rear. We agreed and said she would have her brother stop by the shop to pick up the money. Her brother called later and asked for our insurance. There was no vehicular accident to file a claim on. The car is in such bad shape that neither dealer has wanted to work on it. It is not running as it has a bad motor/transmission and had already been in an accident. This customer wants to try and have all their damage filed with our insurance when what occurred from rolling into the pole was very minor. Business is providing pictures.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  On may 10th my car was supposed to be towed from the shop “in collision” because there was a recall on it so it was going to the original dealer of the car “***** **** *******“ the shop provided me with a number to call for a free tow the tow truck driver got to the shop before me and left to the dealer so I did not meet him nor see him and the dealer told me there was no need for me to come to the dealer when the car got dropped off. About 2 hours later the dealer called me telling me that the guy who towed my car in had slid it off the truck into a pole and damaged it I was never notified from this driver about the damages he caused. I called the company he worked with the first day which did me no good and the second day I called the personal number for him that the dealer gave me he told me that I was trying to get over on him and just trying to get money out of him because he offered me 300-400$ For the damages which is way less than what they were so I told him no I got a estimate done and they came to about 6,000 something the next time my mother talked to him he proceeded to say he was not giving us any of his information nor giving us his insurance and that we need to take him to courtI want his insurance company to fix the damages on my car Regards, ****** ******
