This company took off the current roof on my home and replaced a new roof. The workmanship was ok however I had to call them several times to make sure the sealant around the edges of the windows and on the sides of the roof were completed as required. The roof was completed in July 2020. Then there was a bat that flew into my home in 7/20. I called them to tell them a bat was in my house and the owner came out and he also had an associate come out to my home and they both said that my daughter and myself were making it up and that there was probably a bird in my home because bats don't usually get inside. The owner also told me that I could take a picture if I see the it again and he will send someone out to catch it if it is a bat. I made several calls to the Rodent and the **** County Health services. I call the bat catcher who came to my house and since he didn't see a bat, he gave me instructions to follow if a bat is seen. The bat showed up a few days later because I was not staying at my home. Once I saw the bat flying in my kitchen I was able to take a picture of it and I was able to let it leave the house. I reported it to the Collingwood management and I also sent them the video of the bat. The company came out and they put something around the possible bat openings. In 2021 in August I had family staying with me as they were preparing a birthday celebration, another bat flew in the house. The Collingwood company was called again, they didn't respond, I called the bat catching company and they came out, looked at the bat and let me know that the work to stop them from coming into the home was not done correctly. The Bat terminator fixed the roof and charged me a fee in which I have been asking to be returned to me from the Collingwood company.

As a *********** certified roofing company, Collingwood Construction did indeed send its crew, salesman, and owner to inspect the roof. Warrantee approved and issued by *********** on August 8,2022. We found no evidence of any roof issues. We did advise the homeowner to call a specialist that would extract the bat in a safe manor, and she did. Should any roof issues arise Ms. ******** can contract *********** directly at ###-###-####

    Customer Response

The owner and a partner of the Collingwood Construction Corp. came to my home the day after I reported to the company that there was a bat flying around my home, this happened in 2020. They thought I was making up the story and they didn’t send their workers out to my home to make the repairs until the Wildlife Damage Control worker came over to my home and went up to the roof and reported to me (and showed) that there were several holes or spaces where the bats can come into my home. I called Larry and let him know my concern, he sent one of his employees to my home to fix the holes and gaps on the roof. Additionally I was able to video the bat flying around in my kitchen in September 2020. In August 2021 there was another bat in my home I called the Wild Damage Control worker to come out and fix the gaps and holes in the roof to stop the bats from entering my home. The bat was taken to the Erie County Department of Health and the results were that the bat didn’t have rabies's. I have been living in my home for over 35 years and have never had a bat in my home. The bat was able to enter my home because the Collingwood Construction workers were not able to do an accurate repair. I had called and messaged the owner Larry, I spoke to him a few times, I was specifically wanted to request my additional funds replaced. The owner never made another contact with myself, nor had anyone from the company came to my home in 2022. I understand the owner needs to know when a company is going on their roof for an inspection.
