On October 3rd 2023, I contracted J H Trucking & Excavating **** ****** ** ********* ** ***** to tear out and replace my driveway, sidewalks and walkways with cement with wire mesh and sealed for $18,500. On completion the driveway did not look correct the concrete was very blotched with blemishes and discoloration throughout. There were three other driveways poured by other contractors the same week with none of them having the same issue. The contractor said he did not understand why the concrete looked that way and since it was the end of the concrete pouring season he asked if I could work with him and hold off until after the winter to see if the discoloration would go away, the contractor also wrote on my receipt that he agreed to remedy the discoloration problem in the concrete sidewalks, driveway and ( my rear concrete pad which was also poured the same day under a separate contract ). The receipt was written on October 14th, 2023. Fast forward to spring 2024 the problem with the concrete is still there. The contractor came out and took a look and agreed that it didn't look right there was also a problem with one of the slabs of the sidewalk that was lifted..being put on the back burner it is now (July 11th) the contractor did replace and seal the sidewalk block that was starting to lift. August 22, 2024 the contractor had someone come out power wash the driveway and sidewalks and walkway and reseal them and that process made the driveway / sidewalks even worse but the new concrete slab he placed and sealed July 11 2024 looks like it's supposed to without any blemishes and its color is white compared to my driveway and walkways is brown and blotchy. On Aug 27th 2024 I texted and suggested to the contractor that the concrete needs to be torn out and replaced. Contractor is out of town and he will look at it when he returns after the holiday suggesting another process to see if that fixes it which I doubt it, now I'm facing another end of the concrete season.

Contracted on August 28, 2022 to pour and stamp concrete and to produce stairs. Before signing I was shown samples of stamping in the shop and in a private party. Contractor reported to be done on Sept. 21. 2022. Total contracted amount is 12500, of which 8500 are paid, and the rest is a stopped check. Unlike both samples provided, the delivered stamping has rough edges, discolorations, small cracks, color spots and deformities; small pieces of concrete are coming off. On Sept. 21 the contractor covered rough edges on the sides with soil (which settled later, keeping the edges exposed) and insisted on giving them the check for the remaining amount of 4000 on the verbal promise to fix the problems "by the end of the week." Approximately two weeks later, the contractor patched a part of rough areas with different color, which made it look worse and sealed the surface again. Patching and sealing cured neither rough edges of stamping nor stains, nor chippings-off. Asked to address the same issues further, they refused to do anything more about that stating they can do nothing and offered to demolish everything without rebuilding. The contractor also refused to provide documentation on the manufactures warranty on the stairs, they bought from Unisteps for us. The contractor verbally proposed to adjust price by 2000. I attached a picture of the sample presented with before signing and pictures of the work done.
