On March 18th of 2022 Action Repair Service serviced my home dryer. I was told that it would cost $125.00 to diagnose the issue with the dryer with no refund. I agreed to that cost and service. Once the technician was there he diagnosed that the heat element was bad. He called the office to report the issue and was told that it would cost around $400.00 to replace the heating element and labor. The technician required a deposit of $200.00. The next day he brought the part needed and installed it. While there the dryer was still not working. He then called the office and spoke to someone and was told that the electrical board needed to be replaced and that would cost about $700.00. I denied that cost of repair because it would be more cost efficient to buy a new dryer than spend that amount to repair the one I had. I then spoke to the technician regarding the deposit of $200.00 which $125.00 was what I agreed to pay to diagnose regardless of the outcome and he informed me difference of $75.00 would be refunded back to me via check in the mail that I would receive in about **** business days. On March 31 I called them because I had not received the refund check of $75.00 and spoke to a man named **** and he told me that he would not refund me the $75.00 because he lost money on the deal. After that conversation ended he called me back which I did not answer and he left me a voicemail saying that instead of sending me the refund he would credit me $75.00 towards any future repairs needed. (I still have the voicemail on my phone) Unhappy with the conversation and voicemail he left me I decided to report the issue to BBB.
