This company has been calling me for years. They generally call about once a month. They think I am an author and they are trying to sell their services. I am not an author. I always tell the caller that I am not an author and I always ask them to not call me again. Every time I receive a call from a new phone number, I block it. However, I see that they always leave messages (which I am able to retrieve). I am not an author and I would like them to stop calling me. They started calling me about 7-10 years ago.Initial Complaint

I paid Stratton Press to publish a book for me. We were working together well, then suddenly the company went blank on me. I keep calling but all I hear from them is a recording promising to call me back. That has been going on for more than 6 months now.I would like to hear from the company, and get an explanation of the problem. If they cannot publish my book, as contracted, then I need to have my money, and my photos returned. I do need to get some kind of response from the company.Initial Complaint

When this company initially approached me several years ago, they attempted to convince me to publish my books through their services. I agreed to publish my first book with them and subsequently decided to publish my second book as well. However, at a later point, they proposed a website design service for which they requested $5000, a service I did not require at that time. After a lengthy hour of meetings trying to persuade me, I ultimately declined their offer. Following this incident, I have experienced a significant decline in their responsiveness. They no longer answer my calls or respond to my emails. In my experience, this company serves as a cautionary example of publishing companies that prioritize financial gain over author relationships. It appears that once they convince an author to publish with them, they cease to maintain communication and support. Authors need to exercise caution when considering their services.Customer response

In 2019 I signed a contract with Stratton Press to publish my book. In 2020, my book was republished by Stratton Press under the title, What If She Knew She Was Powerful. According to the contract, I was to receive a royalty check every 3 months. I've only received one check in the last 3 years. Recently I attempted to reach out via email and phone to contact Stratton Press to receive information on my royalties. They have not responded and I am still awaiting information from them. Also, I have found that the book continues to be sold on Amazon and through *** books. I've reached out to Amazon and *** books with no reply. At this point, I am requesting assistance with contacting Stratton Press, as well as receiving my unpaid royalties.Initial Complaint

Since late April I've been receiving calls and texts from this establishment, along the lines of "Hi *****, this is (redacted*) from Stratton Press. I hope you're doing fine. How do you wish to continue your membership? I'd like you to take advantage of our lifetime membership. Are you available to talk right now?"*please not I don't want to name the employee who keeps reaching out unless I absolutely need to I've explained that my name is not ***** (I'm a female with a female name to begin with) and that I have no association with this company. The employee states that they're sorry but that this number (my number) is associated with him. I blocked the number after asking them to please refrain from contacting me. Since April until now (6/7) I get weekly phone calls and today I got another text message from the same employee but with a different number, asking the same thing again and calling me ***********I'm getting very annoyed, especially since I've blocked their number but they keep reaching out through other numbers.Customer response

I was contacted by Stratton Press to republish my book "My Journal for ******" around April or May of 2022. I ended up rewriting my book. Stratton was to edit, print, and develop a new cover for the book. I was told this was completed around February of 2023. I wrote a second book . By February of 2023 I have paid over 6 thousand dollars to Stratton Press. I was told about advertising and encouraged to set up a web sight. Customers were to make orders on line with no middle man involved. First 8 orders were made in February when the sight went public and I was told books were available. I was told I had a lifetime membership with the last thousand dollars I had paid. This was to cover any future books. Pictures were sent to me of the "new" book covers, and I was asked to approve final drafts. My Customers have never received the books they ordered. I have never even received an authors copy of either book. I was asked to purchase 100 books of "Don't Tell" My second book, for the stock of their new store in ********. The first of May 2023 I was contacted by a new employee asking again for 1 thousand dollars for membership. I asked for printed copy of what I have paid for, knowing this was offered previously. I did not receive any response. My books are "Don't Forget " and "Don't Tell". I have attempted contact with 4 different employees I worked with, phones a recording stating unavailable. On line while searching the company now I seen the company has 0 employees. I have no books, no support, or proof that any book was ever printed for me.Customer response

I have written a book, Blue Skies and Tailwinds. It was published by Stratton Press. I paid Stratton Press for programs that were not completed. I.e. audiobook, book translated to foreign language, movie trailer, among a few. Now they are ignoring me and have not returned my money. My request is simple; I want my $$ back! ********************* and *********************** are very dishonest and should not be in the publishing business. Obviously the *** , AaronDancil is not full of integrity if he allows his customers to be treated this way. I would not recommend Stratton Press to anyone for book publishing.Customer response

Stratton Press published my book, "Make Your Own Job: Anytime, Anywhere, At Any Age," in 2020. This part of the process was reasonably well done. I have been since contacted with several promotions. The first was to exhibit at a German book fair which I declined. The second was by **** who claimed for $1,500 my book would be placed in a new Stratton Book Store on ********. in ********. I paid for this service and have received no evidence of such a store opening or my book being exhibited there. I have also as of this date received no royalty income from sales, despite active promotions done by me privately and through other companies. I have also received other promotional pitches from the company concerning placing ads on city transport which I frankly do not believe.Initial Complaint
