I sent in my refundable deposit of $99, however I did not proceed with enrollment. I was told I was eligible for a refund and that it was supposed to be processed. The company ghosted me and never refunded my money.

The refund was originally processed in July 2024, but did not go through. As soon as we received this complaint, we reached out directly to rectify the situation and process the refund through an alternative method. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with.

    1. ********* marketing / false advertising They had displayed on their website 90% of graduates* get a job in tech which they have since removed since I started a grievance surrounding this. I have screenshots of the language from their site that I would be happy to provide. I have been attempting to get employed in the tech field ever since I graduated (which was September 2023) and have been unsuccessful. I have applied to hundreds of jobs and speak to others in my graduating class that are in the same boat as I am. I followed the instructions they gave me and have applied to all levels of positions. I also found that they suggest internships are great however I am unable to apply for most internships as internships require you to input what college you are attending and Flatiron school is not in the drop down list for most employers which they do not explain to you before attending their school. I feel that I was duped into signing up for this school with the false promise/hope of employment upon completion of the program. 2. Education The teachers clearly did not know what they were teaching at points to the point where the teacher had to stop recording the lecture and advised they would come back to it. Students had offline conversations about how they all felt the teacher was not properly educated in what they were teaching us. I found I had to teach myself most of the time and learned most by online research.3. The teachers were not available for us when needed. I provided multiple screenshots of multiple occasions where I reached out to a professor for assistance and was ignored. 4. It was discovered that one of the professors was found to be teaching us from a music festival (burning man) during the last week of school which I find to be highly unprofessional and a contributing reason to their unresponsiveness and my education. I am looking for tuition reimbursement of $16,900. I tried resolving directly with the school twice now but they refuse.

Thank you for sharing this concern with us. We have been in communication with this graduate and completed a thorough investigation of their concerns in January 2024. Upon receipt of this complaint through the Better Business Bureau, we re-engaged with this graduates account and found that they did not avail themselves fully of our services before electing to conclude their time with us. Weve reached out to ensure they have the opportunity to fully utilize our services in support of their goal.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business is not addressing my concerns or provided an agreeable resolution. I have been engaged with the business regarding this matter since January 2024 but they did not provide a satisfactory response and resolution which is why I have engaged the BBB. I dont feel that the businesses response appropriately addresses my concerns stated here. As a result of this complaint the business has re-engaged me and is offering extended career services. This is not an appropriate resolution as I didnt not find their career services to be valuable and was unsuccessful in landing a job in tech after 6 months of efforts. As a result of this, I was forced to switch careers and have started a job outside of tech as I could not afford to live any longer without working. Additionally, most of my concerns stated were around the education I received and the deceptive marketing on their website which led me to quit my full time career with the expectation that I would be able to get a job in tech if I followed the program, which did not happen. This is in addition to the many concerns I have surrounding the actual education I received which are being ignored or excuses are being made for.

My requested resolution is for tuition reimbursement, not extended career services which have already proven to be unsuccessful.

I have responded to the business directly once again requesting a refund and once again voicing all of my concerns voiced in this complaint that seem to be falling on deaf ears.

I request a full tuition reimbursement at this time.

A full investigation into these concerns was completed, with the detailed findings communicated in January 2024. The findings, and resulting decisions, stand and are in adherence to the standards and policies outlined in our enrollment documents and acknowledged by all students. Supporting our graduates in their professional journeys is important to us. Weve been in communication with this graduate to offer to continue supporting them in their goals and that offer still stands. Thank you.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

While the merchant did conduct an investigation their responses and excuses are not satisfactory which is why I am coming to the BBB for further review and assistance. The merchant has not addressed my concerns presented to the BBB in this BBB complaint. My concerns is their deceptive marketing, the fact that their teachers were teaching remotely while attending a music festival, and their teachers were uneducated and not always available. None of these concerns were properly addressed in the investigation completed and were not addressed again here. Nowhere in their handbooks or terms of service does it address the concerns I have brought up. The only resolution they are offering is to extend my career services who were already unsuccessful in aiding me in getting a job for 6 months. I have been forced to accept a position outside of the industry as I dedicated almost 6 months after completing school to try to find a job in tech and was unsuccessful and could not afford to continue to look. I am now fully immersed in training and working at my new job that is not in tech and I do not have the time to dedicate to trying to find a job, interviewing, etc. This solution also does not address my concerns over the overall education I received from the school including teachers not knowing the content and teaching from music festivals. I do not feel that I have been provided a fair or satisfactory resolution to the issues I have presented and I am requesting a fair and proper resolution.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

I was enrolled in flatirons flex program which was sold to me as having free range to work on the course as i saw fit with no hard deadlines. I was then dismissed from the course without notice or warning that any deadline was approaching. The only mention of this deadline is burried in a 100 page course catalog and was supposedly said during a non mandatory open house. On top of this, that deadline was not even followed as outlined by the course catalog, it was apparently extended with no notice given to me. I beleive this is in attempt to provide me with even less of a refund as they decided to base my refund amount based on days rather than completed course material. I have multiple screenshots and messages telling me that this was a flexable course and that the only stipulation was that it be completed in the 12 months alloted, not that there was any deadline on the individual course material.Attached i have provided-1. My appeal request form, which they denied 2. A screenshot of there being no due date on my canvas page 3. The first email that i received regarding this issue, i received this 3 days after the extended deadline 4. Slack messages from my instructor showing that he wasnt even aware of the policy 5. Weekly school updates that have no mention of a deadline

This company/organization persists in sending me annoying emails that are of no interest to me. I have tried to unsubscribe, but their unsubscribe option keeps rejecting any email that I insert. I have zero interest in what they do or whom they victimize other than me, but I want it stopped AT ONCE!!! I do not need a lot of users who deny a person the right to peace and quiet harassing me in any form! Make it stop AT ONCE, no excuses accepted!!!
