I took an art class at the Paint Place on Saturday, April 15th. The instructor repeatedly made derogatory and bigoted comments during the class. The attendees were ***** ********.

    Hello,

This does not sound correct in any way. Do you have anyone who can back up this statement? We are the most loving, warm, accepting group of artists and we do not and have NEVER made any derogatory comments about any of our customers, who come in all shapes and sizes.

We have been here for almost 9 years and are a solid part of the Upper ******************** We would need some sort of proof here-

We have 3 classes on Saturdays- which are you referring?

This is a false statement, made by a customer who was looking for a refund. We do not take accusations like this lightly as we have spent many years building a business that is all encompassing of all people. We NEVER, in 9 years, have made insulting, bigoted, derogatory comments about any of our customers.

We are an art studio that employs many incredible artists- all who are welcoming and loving and we take pride of our warm energy in our space. As you can see from our hundreds of reviews on ******* ****, etc... we are well loved in our community.

This is a mean thing to do- looking for $45 back, and willing to post lies, with no regard on how it can affect our business. Because of this, we are weighing our legal options. We know we did nothing wrong.

This event was a private party for a group. From multiple sources, ****** showed up 30 minutes late, and abruptly left the class in the middle without saying anything. He left his painting behind. We could tell from his artwork that he was not understanding the process, and was clearly struggling with it. I am assuming this is why he wants his money back

I did reach out to the organizer of the party. This is her response:

We, too, are quite shocked that you received this review from *********************************. The majority of our group had a wonderful time under *******'s instruction and we haven't received any negative feedback, especially anything related to bigotry or derogatory comments or feeling targeted as ***** individuals.
We have followed up with ****** to better understand the context of the complaint and his experience, as we were not aware of this serious accusation. We can confirm that he did arrive late and leave quite abruptly.
Again, a majority of our group thought ******* was wonderful to work with and our attendees responded very positively. She had everything prepped and ready for us before we walked into the studio and was very patient and helpful in guiding us through the chosen paint work. Many remarked that this was their first *************************** event and they would like to attend more.

The Paint Place is hurt and upset by this whole experience- I do suggest people thing through their ideas before acting. This is wrong and this person should be ashamed. He also owes us an apology.
