  I placed an order for a ring with Ilene Joy on 7/27/2022.We went back and forth on timing and engraving on the ring. They said they would send me a mock up of the ring and engraving and never did. They just sent the ring out with whatever engraving they wanted. I received the ring, and opened the box with all the lighting and all and thought it looked great. I texted the owner saying it looked great when I gave it to my fianc as a push present. However, once we actually took the ring out of the box, it did not fit her fingers, the shape was oblong and made poorly and the engraving was nothing something I had agreed upon. I proceeded to try and return the ring.I texted the owner about returning the ring, she refused. Stating that all custom jewelry is nonrefundable. I never got a receipt for the ring, I never got a *** certificate or anything. They also did not have anywhere on their website or in text message or in any communication with me did they say the ring was custom made(until after I called and they said it when I tried to return it) or that it could not be returned. I would have never bought the ring if I knew I could not return it. I tried to get a refund and even offered to pay for materials but they refused. I then filed a complaint with my credit card and had a lawyer try and contact Ilene Joy but the owner will not respond. I tried to return the ring but their address on their website wasn't a real address for their business so the package got returned to me. Since I tried to return the ring, they updated their website to show return policies and disclaimers. Those were not there at the time of purchase and there is proof of the changes being put on after my request. I worked really hard for this gift and to spend almost ***** dollars on a ring that was supposed to be special, but was made poorly and carelessly and then to not be able to get a refund has left me and my fianc in a miserable position.
