I dropped my 9.8 tohatsu outboard motor off at rjr on March 25th to have it tuned and gone through for the season stating that a mouse had chewed wires and needing a carburetor rebuild. Ipicked it back up April 29th. He charged me $350 for the mentioned services but when I got the motor installed on my boat it was blatantly obvious he had completed none of the work he stated he did aside from an oil change and lower unit grease. my motor no longer worked at all. It came back dirty, missing a piece of linkage and the wires were still chewed/ damaged.

I hired RJR marine services in August of 2021 to fix the motor on my boat. In September I was notified that my boat was done and ready for pickup. I was told that all 4 carburetors had been rebuilt. The **** was $875.00 and if i wrote the check out in cash. When I took the boat out for the first time after the repair ( a few days later) the boat was still doing the exact same thing. I took it back and asked that it be repaired properly and readied for winter. I was called a few days later to pick it up and that it was ready. The owner said that they had only winterized it and to bring it back in the spring for him to repair it. In april i dropped the boat off. It sat in the same spot where i parked it everytime i drove by. I texted the owner twice in those 60 days asking about the boat. While the boat was there, due to them not taking care of the rain water on the boat cover. The cover tore on my boat. The last answer i received was that the carburetors were off and parts had been ordered. I stopped by that same evening to see and there was standing water on parts of the cover that had not ripped yet, the boat had not moved from the spot i trailered it and the carburetors were attached to the motor in the same spot. I told the owner that this was unacceptable and that i would be taking the boat to another shop. The new shop has sent me pictures and notified me that the carburetors were never worked on and that the gasket were the orignal from the factory. I have contacted ( ***** the owner of RJR about receiving my money back for work that he claimed to do but wasnt clearly done. I would want my money for the job that never took place $875 and I would like the cover replaced or $200 for a new boat cover.
