    Dear ******* Complaint Handler,
This letter is pursuant to the BBB correspondence received at the SUNY Student Loan Service Center (SLSC) for ID number ********.
I have read your letter and the "Customer's Statement of the Problem", concerning her Perkins Federal Student Loan. The borrower stated. "I find this account to be incorporated with inaccurate information, I strongly believe this to be misleading and misrepresentation of my credit history. Please remove this inaccurate information from my credit report". This borrower separated from our school system in May 2016 and reenrolled in college on two separate occasions receiving student deferments that were followed by six-month grace periods. The borrower then applied for and was granted a three-month forbearance that ended on March 31, 2019, with payments to restart on April 1, 2019.
Prior to payments starting, our office sent this borrower a forbearance ending notice, with billing statements commencing on March 12, 2019, for the April installment. Billing statements were mailed each month thereafter. There was no contact from this borrower and after the SLSC sent her six billing statements, three collection letters, an email, and tried to reach her by telephone on three separate occasions, her loan was accelerated and assigned to a collection agency. On September 27, 2019, our office received a Loan Verification Certificate electronically from a student loan consolidator. Our office completed the form and returned it electronically that same day. On October 22, 2019, our office received a payoff from a Department of Education consolidation company that paid the Perkins Loan in full, when the loan account was seven months past due.
Based on information provided above there was no error in the reporting of the delinquency for this borrower's loan account. Her request to have the delinquency removed from her credit profile is denied.
    CW:cw
    Sincerely.
    Christopher W***** Associate Director
