I am filing a formal complaint against Premium Auto Shipping for unethical business practices and misleading me throughout my car shipping experience. I hired them to ship my ********** Beetle from ****** to ***********, and the process has been filled with dishonesty, last-minute cancellations, and price hikes. Initially, I was contacted by *****, who gave me a great quote of $700 for shipping, including 200 lbs of personal items in the car. I confirmed the pick-up for the following day, and ***** assured me that a driver would be available in the morning. However, the next day, ***** called to inform me that the driver was unavailable and that a different driver would be available the following daybut at a higher cost. I was shocked and upset, especially after being initially told the price and pick-up details. When I expressed my desire to cancel, ***** threatened me with a $200 cancellation fee, which was buried in the contract. To avoid that, I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the booking. ***** then promised a driver for the 11th who would honor the original $700 price. I confirmed the date and price with a driver named ****, only to be canceled on the same day due to a "family emergency." At this point, I was left in a very stressful situation and asked **** for alternatives. He referred me to another driver, ****, who demanded $1300 for the shipment, which I refused. I was then pressured by ***** to sign a new contract with ****, agreeing to $1200, as he "removed $100" from the new price. I felt cornered and had no choice but to agree, despite the entire situation being a clear bait-and-switch. I believe I was misled and manipulated by Premium Auto Shipping to increase the shipping cost after already committing to a price. Their lack of transparency, constant cancellations, and price escalation are unacceptable. I am seeking a refund of the charges and would like to ensure this company is held accountable for its actions.Thank you for your attention.Customer response

I have been receiving a daily email, sometimes more than one, every single day since the spring of 2024 about shipping a vehicle. The car was delivered over 5 months ago but the business continues to harass me wanting to ship my vehicle. I have asked to be removed from the mailing list at least a dozen times to no avail.I do not ever want to see another email from this company.Initial Complaint

On 7/29 we needed to have our vehicle transported to another state. I spoke with an employee named ***** from Premium Auto Shipping he advised me he could have my car delivered for $1050.00 on the same day. I paid $150.00 to secure the place and price. Two hours later he called and said it would $1350.00. I was very upset and was frustrated that he lied about price and did not even have transportation for my vehicle at that time. I requested to just get a refund of my $150 and he said if I didnt go with his company they would charge an additional $200 for a cancellation fee on what Im not sure. They didnt even have a truck to transport at that time. I was so upset for trusting this company and being made to believe they would actually follow through with the original price quoted and dollar amount on the paperwork I signed. In the end he brought the price to $1150.00. Which was still upsetting. I am requesting the $150.00 be credited back to my account. I would have kept looking for a business that did not do the switch and bait.Initial Complaint

History of events: I got a quote from ******************** on 7-22-2024 to transport from car from *******, ** to *****, **. On 7-24-2024, I signed a contract with their company for $775 and paid $200 deposit. A driver names ***** is assigned to pick up the car on Monday 7-29-2024. On 7-29-2024, the driver confirms his axle is broken and he cannot pick up the car. On 7-29-2024, ******************** says another driver can pick up the car but the charges would be higher and it would be $1350. On 7-29-2024, **************** disagrees to pay higher price ($1350). He informs ******************** that he already has two quotes lower than the signed contract ($775). He shares the two companies and their quotes with ******************** informing that **************** is already paying $225 more than the minimum quote received. Paying $1350 is not what he signed for. It is 8-5-2024 today (12 days since I signed the contract) but ******************** has not been able to identify a driver to pick up my car yet. Inspite of my multiple requests, ******************** is not returning my deposit of $200 or getting my car picked up. I request your agency's help in taking an action against Premium Auto Shipping Inc.Initial Complaint

I requested quotes for a car delivery from ******** to **** on a website. I had several offers come in. Below you will see the texts from this company and I will also attatch the contract. Theu quoted me $250. Pay $100 upfront then the the remaining $150 on delivery. It does say there may ne some added fees in the small print. Today it's set for delivery and you can see he texts that the new proce is $800. He then arbitrarily comes down a couple hundred to try and get me to pay $500 more. It's a total bait and switch. Then he says they can charge me $200 for canceling but won't since they're being nice and will just keep my $100.Initial Complaint

This company told me it would be $650 to ship my car from Denton Tx to **** **. At 2:45pm the day the car was scheduled to be picked up on 4/6/2024 the driver told me he couldn't pick up the car and that it would be a week before they could pick up the car for shipping. I had to leave the next day for my move to ****** and had to pay $150 each day to have it stored until it could be picked up. On the day that the company could finally pick up the car, I was now told that it would be $1050 to ship the car. This was very deceitful and deceptive. This company lied to get my business then hicked the prices up the day they picked up the car to ship it. I had already spent an additional $600 to have the vehicle stored and now was being charged an additional $400 on top the original quote. Upon delivery of the vehicle I told the driver that I already made a $200 deposit and that I only owed the remaining balance of $750. The driver was yelling and screaming and threatening me that I owed him $1000. I was have been completely robbed and lied to about the pricing and ended up paying $1250 from a quote that the company told me would only be $650. I am requesting a complete refund since I also had to pay to store the car becuase they couldn't pick up the car for a week after I was promised pickup.Business response

Auto Premium Shipping *** contacted me on April 12th to schedule a pick up for my vehicle in ******, ******. The car was supposed to be picked up between around April ***** originally. Excuses, after excuses. The car is not picked up. ****** then states he can get the car picked up May 1st. May 1st comes, they broker and driver strong arm me to pay ***** instead of the agreed original price of $750 if I want my car picked up today. After have waited already 2 weeks, I cave in. We agree on $*****. The driver doesnt make it on the 1st. May 2nd comes, driver is supposed to arrive at 9am. Never shows up. New driver comes at 1:30pm with the wrong truck. Stated he picked up a larger car before and now doesnt have room. The driver and broker both had the year, make, model, pictures, and vin of my vehicle but failed to bring a sufficient truck. Now they state they cant come until May 3rd. I request to the broker to cancel my contract. He will not release my deposit of $150 nor cancel it. Now I cant book another load until he cancels it. Would steer as possible from unprofessional company.Customer response

Paid deposit on auto transport. Received no calls, heads up or reminder about pick up. I been waiting over 3 weeks. Called today, guy answered was rude. Referred to me a an old crazy man. That's discrimination. Then the never booked me a driver and my request was still on the carrier board. Evidently they didn't do anything but take my money. Then want me to forfeit my money for no service at all.Initial Complaint
