On 3/20/24 I had my hot water tank drained and all the water in the tank was rusty..I asked the plumber from Adirondack Affordable Plumbing if that was normal.. He replied yes... However they proceeded to put in a filter system..The flushing cost 122.04..The filter system cost 442.25. they called it a whole house canister filter on the hot water side of home. They told me that it wasn't the hot water tank itself..so they installed the system.. However after several weeks went by it wasn't clearing the problem.. So I call them and they told me they couldn't figure it out to call ***** **** . So I did. That's where *********** ***** ******* comes in..

On 02/20/2024, we went to the complainant's home on (if I remember correctly CLOUDY WATER on the hot side) So we suggested flushing her hot water heater.  We told her to give it time to clear up from the flushing.  Yes, when we flush water heaters that have sat and not been flushed on a regular basis you can have rusty water.  Complainant seemed fine with the outcome. See attached invoice.  We then received a call in the later part of 03/20/24 that it was still cloudy, we suggest installing the whole house filter on the hot side to see if that helped.  She had us go ahead with the job. We DID NOT FORCE HER TO DO ANY OF THESE THINGS.  We suggested trying to figure out the problem.  When we received the final call not knowing what else to do, we suggested ***** Cool a water specialist.  Six months later this is the first we have heard that she still has a problem.  She had services rendered and seemed fine with them for a while.  Please let me know if there is anything else we can do We will not issue a refund.  I have attached both job invoices

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards, **** *******  This didn't solve the problem .. it was only a suggestion to put the water filter system in.  However ,they told me if I didn't install the system I would still have problems... However they didn't suggested that we put in a new hot water tank which was the problem in the first place... so I didn't need to have all of these filter systems put in.. If they would have ck the hot water tank at the time it was flushed they might have cought the problem but they were to busy trying to get me to put in there system... I am not satisfied. When I brought in the last water sample ***** **** said oh you have a water filter system? I said yes but didn't tell him that it was his system.. Well he said the system seems to be doing it job. the water is very good but soft.    know what I want is at least half of the money back for something that I didn't even need.

We would not know that the hot water tank was an issue and would not suggest replacement unless there was an issue with it (like leaking) which it was not.  the replacement of water heater would have been far more than the price of what we did.  A problem like this is a trouble shooting start off trying different things that are not going to break the bank.  We tried flushing the water heater that did not work!  Next, we tried the in-line filter which did not work we suggested ***** ****, and he said water was good.  Never heard from complainant again.  Now asking for money back?  Changing water heater cost is much more than we tried.  When you go to a doctor, they trouble shoot your problems this is the same case.  We trouble shot and didn't replace water heater there was no visual problems with the water heater therefore we did not recommend.
