I am a 72 year old man..I brought my car 2013 **** ****** to Continental transmission in West Seneca. to have my automatic transmission checked for a noise when shifting gears....it has been six weeks $4000.00, 5 trips back to the shop for a week at a time. After 5 times and the original problem still exists. Each time they work on it it still has same noise when shifting gears as when I first brought it in...(this last time number 6) it still makes the noise now when shifting into all gears. Making noise PLUS NOW transmission slips when trying to pass...Tachometer goes from aprox 900 rpm to 4000 rpm before it will finally shift into gear. The last time they checked for the noise all of a sudden they said it isn’t the transmission it is another part. I then asked why they rebuilt the transmission in the first place if it was a different part creating the noise.. They said they took it apart and found bad parts in it… I live alone in a very rural area and being without a car for this length of time is a huge inconvenience... I have had to cancel Dr Appoints, having to depend on others for picking up my prescriptions and groceries not alone being in my house not being able to go anywhere. I am at my wits end with this situation not knowing what else i can do. PLEASE help me I don't know where else to turn. I would like my money back so i can take it to a different shop for repair. Thanking you in advance ***** **** **** ***** ** ****** ** ***** ************

This vehicle was brought to us through another repair facility for transmission shifting issues. It was discovered that there was an internal failure and we received permission by this garage to repair the transmission. After returning the vehicle the customer complained that there was a noise coming from the driveline but is very difficult to duplicate. Customer stated that the vehicle needs to be driven over an hour straight. After multiple attempts we could not determine or duplicate this said noise. The customer vehicle was picked up and dropped off to their home every time. The last visit the customer himself drove the vehicle to us and a technician drove the vehicle with him and then on a lift to duplicate a very minor noise. It was determined by our technician and the customer agreed that the noise was coming from a transfer case the customer had replaced at a different repair shop and was still under warranty at that repair shop. We were paid to repair the transmission and we feel we corrected the original shifting complaint. If this person feels the transmission is not operating properly we are more than happy to discuss and repair since it’s under our warranty.

I do not agree with the reply from said company..each time I had to return the car to contental 5 times..we drove the car and could duplicate the problem.  They told me they removed Ed the transmission 3 times to replace parts..that never did address the original problem. The last timei was there they claimed it wasent the transmission it was something else. They had the car on a lift and had me listen but they didnt listen to what I had told them on how to duplicate the problem.they had me listen to the transfer case and said the noise from that was the problem. It wasent the noise the transmission makes...I have since taken the car to 2 independent repair shops with same results...the problem is the transmission or the torque converter that continental has also replaced...both of the other shops duplicated the problem on a lift and could easily tell it was from the trans.ission and or torque converter. My question to them if it wasent the transmission why did they remove it 3 times to replace parts. This pro lem is NOT resolved.

My vehicle has been with Continental Transmission since the second week of March and is still currently there. I was told the vehicle would be ready for me at the beginning of the month via phone conversation with the facility several times. After several unsuccessful attempts at establishing a certain date for the vehicle to be complete I was told it would be completed on June 2nd and it still is not complete. I would like for there to be a resolution to my problem because at this point I don;'t know if the vehicle is being driven by someone at the shop or what. If I do receieve the vehicle back and the work is complete I definitely expect a discount of some sort.

BBB spoke to management at the company and the following was relayed: We have reached out to this customer multiple times but he won't return our calls or texts.  We tried calling a couple times.  We tried texting a couple times.  We are willing and trying to work with him but we can't do anything if he won't communicate with us.

I took my car to the to get a free diagnostic of my car. I asked them if then can tell me why my check engine light was on, if they was able to fix my door, my windshield has water leaking from it. I also asked if they can fix my heater cause of the loud noise it was making. Some repairs was made. I paid them then my car stop driving two day after picking it up. They had my car towed back to them in which they have yet to tell me what’s even wrong with the car. Everyday I call it’s a different story to what’s the problem or if they even know what’s wrong with it.

    Business relayed to BBB:

Work was being done for a car dealer customer had gone through. The business authorized the repairs and then disputed 30% of repairs. The dealer refused to pay, customer came in and paid 1/2 and declined the other 1/2 recommended. Informed it would have problems. She returned because vehicle is not driving right, quoted again and she is declining again.
