This business/owner harassed me for two days with texts and calls to my personal number and FB account, trying to bribe me with money to take down our review. I had to block them to get them to stop. I never requested a refund nor would I receive any refund if I did not change our review/remove it entirely. Thanks to their history of negative Google reviews not showing, I believe we are not the only ones this happened to. I am now fearful and want all contact, including increased contact and harassment on their business FB to cease. Now I believe we should get our money back, not only for the memories he ruined and poor job he did as a contractor, but for all of the stress and anxiety he induced. Unfortunately they request cash, check, or Zelle, of which we paid through Zelle. At a minimum I need them to stop contacting us.

We are a local business that would never harass one of our clients. We simply reached out to the client to see if there was anything that we could do including a refund to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. I reached out by phone & then text & even offered to meet both the bride & groom to resolve the situation.

I did ask for a removal of the reviews on our Facebook business page, Google, & the BBB because the client did not show any indication with being unsatisfied on the day of their wedding ceremony & reception. It was not until over two weeks after the date of our services that I found this out by email from the Better Business Bureau. The client, family, & friends communicated that we did a wonderful job & everyone had a great time even at the end of the reception when we were packing up to go home.

We simply wanted to ensure our clients satisfaction first even if a refund was required & to handle this off of social media professionally.

No harassment happened. I told the client that we were simply going to respond to her copy & paste reviews if they were not removed. We are a small local business & reviews like this can hurt more than help. It was disrespectful to review us negatively over two weeks on social media when there was zero indication of being unhappy the day our services were provided. Its called communication. We asked several times how things were going. Please let us know & if there are any changes needed. This was asked during dinner.

We offered a refund. No response & no phone call return. Client would not meet with us.

We will not call or reach out to the client again.

    Thanks,

*** *****, owner of A Divine Time Wedding DJ Service

I am rejecting this response because:

Please the attached review as screenshots.

Only a partial refund was offered only in exchange for the removal of the reviews. That isn't ethical or allowed in many of the social media TOS. If a refund was given with an apology made, I could have edited the reviews to say as much. Instead he turned it around and tried to blame me, insisting our kindness was more than just professionalism regardless of his job performance.

When having dinner with our friends recently they did confirm all he did was sit there and he did a poor job with the music. They didn't even know about the rest of it. Our opinions matter the most here regardless.

And no, I'm not going to confront our DJ right after our ceremony, letting my husband know he ruined a secret surprise I planned for a year and a half. That's ridiculous and not the time or place.

I'd like my money back for the stress and poor job he did. I do count incessantly texting and calling me as harassment. Every time I didn't reply, he'd just keep going. I had to block him. He can send us a refund back through Zelle without further text or calls.

I'm not removing the reviews but I can edit them to let people know he owned up to his many mistakes and it won't happen again, if he remains professional.

To whom it may concern at the BBB.

The client has not been contacted by us since the day after the original review was posted to the Better Business Bureau. This was over two & a half weeks after the service was provided.

We communicated with the client after the ceremony during dinner and at the end of the evening. Once again no indication of any unhappiness. Family and friends even gave us many compliments that day. The client even gave us a $100 tip in an envelope.

I sent pictures to the client the next day after the ceremony and reception. The response was "those are amazing, everyone had a great time!"

Once again, no indication of unhappiness. I even asked them to please review us. I certainly would not have asked for a review if I thought there was a problem with our services.

Over two weeks later we were blasted with negative two star reviews that became one star reviews. We simply called and asked to meet for a partial refund. The customer never contacted us regarding a refund. I let the client know that I would respond to the reviews which is recommended by the BBB and other sites.

Suddenly, the client updated the review. The wording changed to"harassment" from the original copy and paste reviews. The two star reviews became one star reviews. The client moved on to Yelp to attack us further. This is an example of harassment. Unbelievable & ridiculous behavior.

The client even threatened court for taking pictures at the ceremony. To my understanding the sign was for guests not vendors. We even have it in our contract that we would be taking a few pictures during our services unless client lets us know in advance before the day of the wedding. Some clients have done this. This client did not specify "no pictures" to us as a vendor.

The BBB told us if we responded to the last contact from this client the review would come down & the complaint would be settled.

We have not harassed, threatened, or contacted the client since the phone call & texts after we read the original review.

This needs to be finished. There will not be a refund. Please tell the client to not contact or respond any further to our business. We are being harassed now.

Thank again for your patience and understanding to the Better Business Bureau.

I am rejecting this response because:

We absolutely did not tip this man in an envelope, we added it to the original zelle payment before he was done with his job because we did that with all of our vendors.

Yes I did update my reviews, because it took blocking this man to get him to leave us alone. We were contacted and harassed as shown in the screenshots.

An unspecified amount of a refund in exchange for the removal of reviews is not a refund, it is a bribe. I didn't even pick up the phone because he scared me and I was driving. I also needed everything on paper.

The reviews need to stay because he did a bad job and tried to blame us for his mistakes. Again, our kindness is not an indication we were happy with his work. It's called being a decent human being.

I do not care what anyone told him the day of. It's our opinion that matters and our ceremony he ruined, and reception he messed up repeatedly. He couldn't even stop the music at the specified time. I can't redo our wedding. This isn't a job where you can wave off mistakes and blame the customer.

If needed I can send video but people at the very least need to know he is so lax with his position he doesn't care if he ruins your wedding, and he certainly can't admit he was wrong.
