They won't pick your trash up on time and typically drive right past it without picking it up, leaving you with several weeks of garbage to drag back to the curb. I'm talking about simple garbage nothing big. Customer service is a joke. Waste of money. 0 stars.Review from Ashley Z

Zero stars here. Ive been billed for their service, without my permission, since November. I thought the paying customer, chooses the provider theyre paying for. Rumpke thinks differently. On top of that, their service, I didnt accept(I was never given the option), nor request, came 2 times. So, why am I being billed for service since November? Should I be receiving lot rent for the space their dumpster is taking up on my property? Terrible experience over all aspects.Review from Sarah A

If I could leave this company a zero star review I would! I have been waiting on a refund from my service that was canceled in NOVEMBER. It is now 2 days until February. I have been promised returned phone calls that never happen. I have been told they mailed it twice which also never happened. I have called 9 times to no avail. This company will take any penny they can get and run. Corporate was absolutely no help.Review from William J

Have not had recycling pick-up since 12/16/2024 (over a month as of 1/20/2025). This is a frequent occurrence. Customer service is rude--tries to turn the issue around by accusing us of doing something wrong (e.g., having improper items in recycling bin or not putting can on the curb). However, this morning I saw the truck from a distance and it doesn't even turn down our street (which has only three pickups). Would give zero stars if I could.Rumpke Waste & Recycling Response

Their trash service threw away our expensive, 64 gallon trash can and was told through many excuses, such as bad weather in another part of the state making supervisors unavailable, we didn't pay extra for one of their trash cans, bad weather caused them to drop it in their truck, etc, that we were out of luck. They basucally are able to take my property, pitch it, and not be liable to reimburse, unless we agreed to remain customers and they would give us one of their cans. My garbage piled up on my garage for a week while I tried to get answers.Rumpke Waste & Recycling Response

Our trash was not pickup up 2 weeks ago. We were told they would pick up all trash bags including those not in the trash containers last week. They only did the trash containers. They think they own a monopoly in ********** and that it is ok to not pick up your trash. Our trash sat out on a busy street for 1 week and this was not the first time. Six calls were made and every time I was told it would be picked up. They do not want to refund money. They literally drove up to our house and stopped , they looked at our 1 bin of trash and drove away. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had.Rumpke Waste & Recycling Response

Thank you for your response. While I appreciate the sentiment, I need to point out that weve already explored your proposed solution not once, but five times and unfortunately, it has yet only caused further frustration. This isnt an isolated incident as our neighbors were treated similarly. At this point, we need a more effective resolution, as repeating the same steps isnt working. Id like to see a fresh approach to this recurring issue, one that genuinely resolves the root cause. Please advise on the next steps.Review from J. B.

My neighbors and I share a dumpster, and it gets full every week. This week we had a snowstorm (act of God) and they didnt pick up my trash on the scheduled day, which is understandable. We waited until the roads were clear and called Rumpke, asking when itll be picked up. We always get serviced Monday mornings around 8 am. So I assumed we would be high on the list of pickups. They said we would get serviced Wednesday or Thursday. They did not come out, so I called the office on Friday, and I get told that Rumpke send out an internal message that it wont pick anything up until the next week. And theyll pick up all trash, even if its sitting around on the ground. I live in a rural area, with wildlife that likes to eat trash, and that would just cause litter to be strung out all over the place. I kindly asked for a refund for the week, since they didnt provide the service I paid for, and they said that they dont give refunds. Im sorry. When you pay for a service and it isnt performed, its called theft! This isnt the first time they didnt come to pick up my trash, and the other times it was summer; good weather.Rumpke Waste & Recycling Response

RUMPKE SAID THEY DIDNT PICK UP MY TRASH BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS MY NEIGHBORS TRASH CAN, SO NOW THEY CAN ASSUME, ******* AND ***** DO SELL THE SAME TRASH CANS AND COLORS. I HAVE HAD THEM FOR MANY YAERS WITH THE SAME 2 TRASH CANS MIND YOU BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEY KNOW ITS NOT MINE SO THEY DONT TAKE IT FOR 2 WEEKS. I'm so happy there was another option. We have had rumpke for a little over a year. They would either miss our pick up all together, or just take one can, or randomly do their job. We would call and the customer service was nice but they continued to fail miserably. When I asked for the person in charge of the trucks to call me I never got a call. The last straw was when the rumpke truck nearly ran my wife off the road after only taking one can ... again. Canceled their service. They are all proud of being a well run company on their website.
