According to BBB files this business has a pattern of complaints concerning consumers experiencing something wrong with the products (damaged from the factory, wrong size doors, parts missing etc) Large number of complaints also reference long wait times (installations, scheduling, return calls, etc.). Also, consumers reported there are delivery issues (parts not being delivered in a timely fashion). Consumers have reported installers not doing the job right and having to have multiple trips to their home for service. Complaint contact responses seem apologetic and empathizing with the consumer; The consumers are more accepting to the responses and assistance Champion has offered. Complaint volume overall has been trending downward and progressing with processing complaints with the best interest of the customer in mind.

“BBB files indicate a pattern of complaints for Champion Windows and Home Exteriors. Complaints allege customer service issues, including but not limited to, failures to return customer calls, set and keep appointments and honor warranty work in a timely manner.

"There are reasons Champion has been in business since 1953 and proudly services over two million consumers. There are also obvious reasons why this past year has been very different than others. As the one nationwide provider that sells, manufacturers, installs and warranties its products through 100% company-owned locations, the impacts of Covid caused major backlogs to our supply chain and wreaked havoc on our workforce that cannot work remotely, particularly factory workers, operations, service techs and installers. We want consumers to know that initiatives are underway to demonstrate we’re committed to improving our service levels, completing jobs as soon as possible and honoring our warranty.”

Champion Window & Home Exteriors was purchased by Great Day Improvements LLC through an equity purchase in December 2021. Great Day Improvements, LLC, has a portfolio of direct-to-consumer brands of home improvement products and services. Champion Windows & Home Exteriors still maintains day to day operations, including customer contracts.
Government Actions

On May 25, 2023, Champion Window Company of Minneapolis, LLC entered a consent order with the State of Minnesota Commissioner of Labor and Industry agreeing to the following:
- Its Qualifying Builder is a chief manager or managing employee who is regularly employed by Champion Window Company of Minneapolis, LLC and is actively engaged in the business of residential contracting or residential remodeling;
- Champion Window Company of Minneapolis, LLC shall obtain all required permits prior to commencing work and shall complete all of the work for which they are contractually obligated;
- Champion Window Company of Minneapolis, LLC shall pay a monetary penalty of $5,000 to the State of Minnesota
