On December 28th, I called to make an appointment to get my dogs nails cut. I asked what the charge was because my son was bringing my dog in and I needed to know how much money to give him. He said the cost was $30. I called my son to make sure he was available on December 29th at 11:20 to take my dog. I called back and scheduled for 11:20. Unfortunately my son was sick so I took my dog in. I waited for forty minutes before the vet tech came in. She brought in an assistant to hold my dog. My dog got on the stand, they raised it and it took between 10 and fifteen seconds for each paw to be clipped. They lowered the stand, my dog got off and they wiped the stand with a paper towel and left. I sat in the room with the door open waiting for the receptionist to finish with another customer. After a few minutes another customer came in and sat down. Finally the customer he was waiting on left. I gave him my card and he said that would be $80. I said no, you told me $30 and that is what I paid the last time and I would never pay $80 for a nail trim, that was ridiculous. They cost $15-$30 everywhere else. I said I wasn’t paying that much and he swiped my card for $80. I asked to speak to the owner or vet and he said they were in surgery and he would tell them to call me. I called several times throughout the day and the vet was never available and never called me back. I did speak to the vet tech who told me that her time was valuable and I questioned the $80 for two minutes and she said she was in there for six minutes and accused me of staying in the room for ten minutes and it couldn’t be used. There was no one waiting for the room. One dog had come in and the owners had not even checked in. Vet techs make $16-$27 an hour, not $40 a minute! Now I must find another vet which is sad as the vet that my dog saw before was very caring and he didn’t overcharge. I think this place has a new owner. Anyway, this was a bait and switch job. They owe me $50.
