Ms. ************* son is a former tenant as of 10/21/2024 and had given us written authorization to discuss tenancy matters with her as his designated person.

Regarding changes to income, the office manager indicated she had not received any updated paystubs nor notice of changes to household income from him. If either the mom or the son had done so, then management would have verified any new information provided and the proper certification completed if warranted.

Regarding unreported necessary repairs discovered during regularly scheduled annual inspections, the tenant file contained completed work orders documenting the completion of the repairs. There are multiple maintenance technicians that may be dispatched for any service request or to complete repairs noted during an inspection. This is standard industry practice in multi-family housing.

Regarding the shed doors, it is the managers responsibilities to walk the property grounds daily checking for trash, unauthorized vehicles, damages, or potential damages to the property, etc.  Often tenants will leave the shed doors unsecured/unlatched causing the doors to fly open and flap in the wind which could damage the door, break the hinges, etc.   Therefore, it was absolutely within the scope of business for the manager to secure and ensure the integrity of the shed door.

We respectfully request that the BBB brings this complaint to a close.  Thank you.

Showe Management is the corporate office that’s over my apartment complex. I’ve been having multiple issues with my apartment complex. I’ve reached out to showe management to speak to a gentlemen by the name of *****. I was told he was over The Riverlodge apartment building. ***** never return any of my phone calls. Neve get back after leaving voice mails. Never got a chance to talk to him at all about any of my issues. The assist that answer all of showe managements calls is very rude, really sarcastic, hung up on me multiple times, refusing to transfer calls. She kept lying saying ***** was in meetings then it went from meeting to inspections in Cincinnati. I just can’t figure out how is a corporate office kit helping me with my issues for my apartment. I also don’t understand how someone that works in a corporate office can be so childish and rude.

Many of our corporate staff are “based” at the corporate office but most are dispatched to property sites most days for various meetings, trainings, and inspections.  Ms. **** was informed of this by the receptionist on multiple occasions and was referred to the regional manager for the property.  The regional manager contacted Ms. **** to assist her with any issues or concerns that she may have regarding her account or tenancy at the property. Ms. **** has been informed of the status of her account with Riverlodge and the next steps to be taken rest with her by bringing her account current.  We respectfully request that the BBB close the complaint.  Thank you.

My boyfriend and I decided it'd be in our best interest for him to move in. I currently reside in a 2 bedroom and signed a deposit transfer for me to be transferred to a 3 bedroom apartment. My boyfriend completed an application and paid the $25 fee. They lost that application and the fee (turned in September 27.) So he put in another one October 4th. October 13th I asked if they had a timeline for a 3 bedroom to open up so I can prepare to move my family. They proceeded to yell at me when I just wanted a timeline. They refused to give a timeline and said "We will call you." I just wanted to insure i have time to pack. As I was walking out the door, *** screamed at me again saying "if you want to leave, no one is stopping you!" My boyfriend called October 25th to check the application. They told him it was being processed. I called November 1 and *** proceeded to scream at me over the phone and said "If I decide to process it, I will let you know" after he already paid the processing fee, not once, but twice. Her screaming at me triggered a PTSD episode and sent me into the worst panic attack I've ever had. I ended up having to leave work early and we almost had to call an ambulance because my oxygen dropped so low from hyperventilating and nearly passed out. My coworkers (at least 2 of them and a patient at our desk) heard **** accusations and screaming. *** claims I have been harassing them. I don't think asking a timeline to move is harassment. I also don't think checking on an application is harassment. She also lied to my boyfriend about his application being processed. I'm in shock a manager would be so rude it'd trigger someone's PTSD and cause them to leave work. I have applied to move elsewhere and I'm honestly terrified for *** to give honest evidence of my tenant history. I've lived here for 3 years. I just didn't want to pay extra in a 2 bedroom when there's a vacant 3 bedroom next door. I pay month to month which is more expensive than a yearly lease.

Once the tenant's applicant/boyfriend turned in a fully completed application, it was processed. Management attempted to call the applicant on 11/05/2023 to update him on the status of his application but could not reach him nor leave a message. Tenant was contacted and she said she would relay the information to him.  In a subsequent conversation with management on 11/06/2023 tenant indicated she wished to remain in her current unit with the applicant/boyfriend added.  An appointment was scheduled to add the boyfriend.  As of today, 11/08/2023 tenant has indicated to management that she and he wish to cancel the appointment and she tendered a 30-day notice to vacate her current apartment.  We respectfully request that the BBB bring the inquiry to a satisfactory close.  Thank you.

Showe Management is threatening to garnish my wages for a collection of $4024.78. I was evicted as a tenant of the property after my apartment was deemed "unlivable". The problem lies in Showe Management's failure to uphold its end of the contract signed. Several work orders were provided to maintenance to repair broken/damaged things in the apartment. Most work orders were ignored as the maintenance man who is also the property managers husband, was too busy selling drugs to do his job. Come inspection, I failed, was evicted and now am being threatened and charged because this company has shown a lack of diligence or concern for the integrity of their consumers. Showe Management failed to provide the services promised, and thus is at fault for the damages to the property. The only damage caused by myself was my children wiped some poop on their wall. Upon filing a maintenance report, maintenance advised me that he was too busy, and I should just repaint myself. I was then admonished and charged for painting my apartment. I was ultimately evicted because I had a cat, according to the agent who performed my inspection. My cat is an emotional support animal verified in writing by my doctor. Showe Management has this information on file, as it had to be provided before I could sign the lease. This company is being used by the Fostoria location manager and her husband, and good people are suffering because of it.

Potential chargeback amounts were listed on the back of the move in inspection and on the move out inspection.  Ms. ********* vacated the premises on 06/02/2020 and was provided a final account statement within 30 days of the move out date as required per Ohio Tenant/Landlord law.  The final account statement dated 06/25/2020 notified her of the right to dispute any charges listed and that the amount would be placed with collections within 10 days of the date of the notice.  Her debt is now with collections and as such, she will need to reach out to the collections agent with whom she may have previously spoken to discuss her account.  We respectfully request that the BBB close the complaint.  Thank you.
