I purchased my bridal dress in 2023. I came in November for my first alteration appointment. I had to pay $600 for all the alteration’s. I came back for my next alteration appoint and the top portion of my dress still isn’t fitting correctly. He takes it is on the sides more hoping it fixes the issue. I come back for my next appointment I’m still not happy the halter top portion is not correct so he has a women come in and they suggest to add more padding in the dress. I was told that is all they are able to do anything else will damage the beading. So I felt I had to accept what I was getting at this point. I’m still not happy with my dress so I took it to another place in Dublin, this lady immediately sees what needs to be corrected and is able to do so but for another $600. I feel they didn’t want to try anymore with my dress and I was dismissed. I should get at least half of the money back for alterations that was not completely correctly and for being dismissed. The man also pinned my skin to my dress leaving a mark on my side.Customer response

We commenced work on **********s dress alterations on February 3rd, pinning her dress and scheduling a subsequent appointment. Despite rescheduling for February 17th, she failed to attend. After several reschedules, we finally met on April 8th to discuss alterations to the princess seams, with a caveat regarding bead disruption, but this could be adjusted. We offered options and, upon her approval, implemented the agreed changes to add push-up cups to the dress. ********* expressed satisfaction and took possession of the dress. I've attached a signed alterations agreement that she allows us to work on her dress and an alterations pickup agreement that she is satisfied with the work and is picking up the dress. Subsequently, on May 12th, ********* requested further adjustments. We promptly scheduled a follow-up for May 13th, but unfortunately, she did not attend and emailed us about her inability to do so. No more rescheduling occurred.Customer response

just because I had to reschedule my alteration appointment has nothing to do with the fact that I was told that there was nothing more they could do and I had to accept what they told me since I was advised adding the extra padding g was all there was to be done. I did call in because my hem at the bottom was messed up but when I called I was told oh yeah I recognize your name and was rude to me so I canceled. I knew it was because of the BBB complaint and this appointment was not for my original complaint.

The customer wanted us to alter the wedding dress she purchased. The alterations started on 2/3/2024. We pinned the dress and explained all of the alterations we were making. She signed an agreement agreeing with what we were doing and the total cost. I have attached a copy of the contract she signed and a copy of the alteration ticket to see what we did to the dress. The customer had a follow-up appointment on 4/8/2024; she was happy with the alterations and picked up the dress. She signed the pickup slip, which is also attached to this email. The customer contacted us on May 12 about further alterations to her halter top. We scheduled her to come in on May 13th; she informed us by email that she could not. That was the last we heard from her. Here is a breakdown of what we charged,
Fitting fee $30
Shorten the length of the dress $50
Shorten the straps $80
Sides of the dress $250
3-point bustle $65
Beadwork $40
Adding rubber to the straps $100
Total: $615
and the only thing that applies to the halter-top work is taking in the sides of the dress. According to the receipt submitted by the customer for the work that the other seamstress did is raising the halter-top and narrowing the keyhole. None of that is redoing what we did, it is actually just adding more alterations to what we did. Therefore, I can only agree to a partial refund of the "sides of the dress" alterations. That is the only part that affects the halter-top and it needed to be done either way by us or the other seamstress.
Thanks,
**** ********

May 30, 2024, 1:50 PM (1 day ago)toBetterHello,
I received a message that I have not responded to the complaint on Dublin Bridal.
Dublin bridal refused to do what was needed to fix the alterations to complete the dress. They refused to fix the halter portion so I still had to pay $645 for someone else to do the job they refused to do to get my dress to fit correctly. I still do not accept their reply

Looking at both alterations tickets, you can see that the second seamstress made additional alterations to the dress. She raised the collar and narrowed the armhole. Nothing she did was to fix what was done by us. We would have also charged you, probably less if you had come to us for that. And to say that we rejected you is not fair, you called us on 5/12 to schedule an appointment with us. We scheduled you to come in on the 13th, but you canceled that appointment.Customer response

I am asking that they refund my alterations charge. I paid $1700 plus $661 for alteration and another $645 at the halter portion of the dress.
