We contracted KTB in 2020 to complete exterior remodeling on our home. They replaced siding, added metal roof, installed new windows, gutters and downspouts on the house and detached garage. We have had numerous issues beginning with the first rain after completion, the rain flows between the gutter and roof line. The Winter after completion we have cold air coming two of the new windows. We did contact them, they said they adjusted the gutters but still not working. The windows have not been addressed by them. We have siding on the rear of house that keeps coming out of track, they again came out, popped it in place, it is back out of the track. The biggest issue is after the remodel we heard animals in the walls, had an inspector come see what we could do to remediate this. He came out of the attic with pictures of gaps anywhere from 1-4 inches along the entire roof line hidden behind the gutters. Sunlight shows through the gaps. We now have at least 6 bird nests in the attic and rodents entering through the gaps. We cannot remediate this until the roof line is fixed. KTB wants me to pay them to fix the problem they created, saying this happens on older homes. This was not an issue prior to the work they completed. They have not responded to my messages except to say they cannot fix for free.

We did do a overhaul on the customers house 2 years ago. After we finished with the project they had contacted us about the gutters. We did inform them that on the first quote we recommended 6” gutters to be installed with all metal roofs. They decided to go with a cheaper options and go with 5” gutters instead. As to the 2 windows, the customer wanted to insulate the windows there selves after installation. They used spray foam insulation which if not done right can cause the windows to move as the spray foam expands. As to the lose piece of siding, we did stop out and fix a piece of siding that had came loose a couple days after we were notified, but then we just had a very strong storm in our area that did a lot of damage in the area and even produced tornados. They called and wanted us to come fix the siding that had come loose again due to the storm. We cannot go out and fix things for free due to the storm. As to the issue of the gap all the way around the roof line, KTB did NOT add any wood or change there roof line in any way shape or form. Today when homes are built, the decking does not over hang the fascia board like it does with **** and ****** home. Old homes like this house that are 100 years old they used to overhang the decking past the fascia board. We installed the fascia back exactly like it was before we replaced it. They told us they had received a quote for $5,000 to fix the problem. Again this is 2 years after we did the project. We told the customer that we would fix the problem for $1,500 just to cover our labor and materials. While out looking at this problem **** had got mad and cussed me and ran inside. I think we even came as far down to $1,200 to try and fix there problem, and they were just not happy and insist we do it for free. They even reached out to me as they are having a kitchen remodel done and had somehow got there contractor that is doing that to provide material for the roof line, if we would provide the labor for free. Again we said we cannot do this for free. We have responded to there messages, and our stance on the issue has not changed. We tried resolve this problem, but the customer wanted the work done for free. ID#*********
