Vinylmax installed 30 windows in circa 2011. Just over 5 years, 26 of 30 failed, frosted over. I had to their Fredericksburg VA distributor and pick them up and install them, back home in Stafford (full sash and glass). A couple years later, roughly 9 more fail. Same process as before. A couple years later, a few more go. This time, I get only the glass, and had to pick the glass up, and pay to have them put in. I was informered here that the original product was taken off line. Glass only. If I wanted them in their sashes, it was 700 or 800 a window! A few years later, 7 more go, and right back to picking them up. Vinylmax helps by sending an instruction video and 50 bucks for supplies! Lol. 3 hours on 1 window. The rest are in my office closet, still to be put in. Just recently, around Christmas of 2024, I see that the 3 basement hoppers went. 2 clearly, 1 you can see is starting to go. I emailed the rep, and told them not only is this an obvious reoccurring problem because of faulty products, Vinylmax should deliver and install the glass. I was told to send pictures!??? In summary DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! Spend the money on *****, ********* ******** *****, etc. In closing, if you add this to other similar complaints, I'll bet a perponderance of the evidence shows that most windows came off that same product line, as my original install. Rather than doing the right thing, Vinylmax is more worried about a profit than accepting responsibility for faulty products, and taken care of their customers.Review from Steve S

Awesome people!! I can’t say it enough. Greg and the folks at vinylmax went many extra miles to help me get the parts I needed. I didn’t have a local supplier near me so they dealt with my tiny order themself. So far as to Cut the pieces short enough to be shipped ***. Then the day my order was supposed to arrive *** said oops sorry we lost your order. I sent a message to Greg and he had a new order cut and shipped in less than 24hrs. Now to back up a little, before contacting vinylmax I contacted 4 other companies. One replied saying they would forward my request to the local rep. I even contacted him directly but never answered back. Another said sorry we only deal with dealer accounts, but never gave any info on who that would be. Two others never answered back at all. So I’m going for 10 stars. 5 for working with the little guy and 5 for awesome staff! THANK YOU VINYLMAX!! I wouldn’t have my windows in without you. Sincerely *****Review from Jodi Y

I purchased Vinylmax windows in 2008 for my entire house. Initially, everything was great. After several years, many of the window seals failed and created a "foggy" appearance in the glass. In 2014, we had to replace the glass in 2 windows. In 2018, we had to replace the glass in 5 windows. In 2020, we had to replace 4 windows, and this year, we had to replace the glass in 5 windows. So out of 22 windows, 16 have had seal failures. With that being said, I have to say that customer service has been wonderful. Since the windows have a limited warranty, the entire sash could not be replaced, but the glass for all 16 windows has been. I have worked with Alithea Cook, and she has made the entire warranty process very easy. She is responds very promptly, and has taken care of each of my warranty claims. My biggest frustration is that I have to replace the glass in each of the windows. (Not a super easy task.) So my rating for the windows is only 2 stars, but my rating for the customer service is 5 stars.Vinylmax Windows Response

Windows can experience seal failures for a variety of reasons, with the most common causes related to environmental factors, physical damage, and improper handling/installation. Heres a breakdown of the main reasons for window seal failures:1. Thermal Expansion and Contraction Windows are constantly exposed to varying temperatures. The frame and the sealant expand and contract as they heat up in the sun and cool down at night. This repetitive movement can eventually cause the seal to crack or loosen, compromising its effectiveness.2. Improper Installation If windows are not installed correctly, the seals may not fit properly or may not be applied with the correct amount of pressure. This can lead to air and moisture infiltration, causing premature seal failure.3. Movement of the Building Settling or shifting of the building structure can stress the window frame and the seals. Over time, this can cause the seals to break or lose their ability to maintain an airtight or watertight barrier.4. Impact or Physical Damage Physical damage to the window, such as being hit by an object or struck too hard during cleaning, can cause the seals to rupture or dislodge.5. Improper Cleaning Harsh cleaning chemicals or abrasive tools can damage the seals, leading to wear and eventual failure.6. Extreme Weather Conditions Severe weather, like strong winds, hail, or heavy rain, can physically damage seals, causing them to break or weaken. Additionally, in climates with frequent freeze-thaw cycles, the expansion and contraction of the window frame and sealant can lead to failure. With their being several extenuating circumstances that can cause seal failures (some of these reasons being due to manufacturing while others are beyond our control) we offer a limited lifetime warranty on our product so we can accommodate our customers in the best manner possible. We have many products that we are able to offer a full sash replacement on (depending on age there may be a minimal fee for the sash material compared to paying labor for glass replacement) but when it's from an older line that is discontinued glass may be the only option. Please reach out to our friendly and experienced customer service team if you have any questions or concerns, we are happy to assist.Review from Arthur M

I'd like to share my experience with a warranty claim against VinylMax. To summarize, when is a lifetime warranty not a lifetime warranty? When it's with VinylMax! I had windows manufactured by VinylMax 13 years ago and one of the key items in my decision process was the lifetime warranty offered by VinylMax. Unfortunately, I recently had an issue with one of their windows which required replacing the window due to the failure of the window to hold its position when opened. VinylMax was very cordial in discussions around replacing the window however, when it was time to provide the window, VinylMax indicated that I would have to pay for the window myself. When I complained that the window was under warranty, the rep said "there was nothing he could do" and it "was a management decision". When I asked to speak to the Manager, the Manager offered to pay for half the window and emphasized that "it was a limited warranty". I decided not to fight it any further and reluctantly agreed to their offer, knowing that I was planning to file a BBB claim and share my experience on social media when this was all behind me. Please know this is not a matter of cost (my share was about $250) but, instead, a matter of principle. The relevant provision in the warranty agreement is the following:Parts and Hardware will not break, crack or OTHERWISE FAIL during normal use for as long as you own or live in your home. Upon transfer of this warranty, the second homeowner will receive replacement necessary to comply with this warranty for only 5 years after the manufacture date; thereafter a 50% credit of the company's current price will be allowed for replacement parts.I am the original homeowner/purchaser (I spent approximately $30,000 for windows for my entire house!) so the 50% provision should not have applied to me. I'm not sure why a company would jeopardize their reputation for a few hundred dollars but apparently their management feels differently...Review from Barry E

Purchased Vinylmax windows as a recommendation of my vendor. As a contractor, I rely on manufacturers products to be solid and warranty proof. One of my customers, has problems with their windows that we had purchased 23 units of windows and installed but yet 6 months later after the installation, they are leaking from the frame itself, where they were not molded properly. I tried to contact Vinylmax, my client tried to contact them but yet they have the worst customer service and they do not honor their warranty. Stay away from this product and don't let your contractor install them.
