Sept ******* met *******, employee of ********** wash, at my daughters house to powerwash a chimney. They charge $149 to power wash an entire house. I only needed the chimney done, as the house had just been painted. They told me it would cost $75-$100 to do her chimney, which I agreed to. Before ******* had left the job, ****** called me to make a payment. I told him, it doesnt look great and I think he forgot to do the whole backside. He said he texted the worker and he said he spent a lot of time doing the back and it will look better when its dry. It dried and it absolutely hasnt been done and it doesnt look good. The chimney under the peak wasnt touched either. Ive called two days in a row and left a message asking if the would like to talk about this, redo it and make it right or just refund me. They havent returned my call. The address given for this business is a residential condo.Business response

In response to your complaint you called Thursday evening after the office was closed and Friday nobody was in the office due to the hurricane winds which included Saturday with storms. I was only able to see the complaint because we received a message through email. The chimney on the house that you had washed for $99 plus tax came out beautiful. On the back there were stains that were embedded into the stone which a wash will not take care of. The light stains on the front and sides of the chimney came out beautiful. As discussed to remove the small stain on the back side top would be a restoration project where harsh chemicals or a sandblasting method would be needed to strip the top surface stain off which we do not do. When you first place the call you left a message stating you never file complaints or complain against anyone within a short period a second call was received where you were threatening to take actions all because no one was in the office due to weather conditions and being off. We would be glad to refer a restoration company or give you names of restoration companies that could take care of that. We wash thousands of jobs a year and run a 99.5% satisfaction rate and our prices cannot be beat. That is one reason we have also been voted best power wash company in ******** every year. Also as far as your comments about ******* doing the wash hard surfaces such as stone, brick, concrete, all lighten up to a degree after washing the surface. That is the point he was trying to get across. You also mentioned that the business was listed under a residential address which is correct we do not have high cost of offices and staff and the business is run out of our home to save the consumer hundreds of dollars per job which many companies in ******* do. Again thank you for giving us the opportunity but a restoration company is definitely what is needed to get the embedded stain removed thank you

I appreciate the responds from Mrs ********************** but I do not agree with his responds and I think he has the facts confused.
I let him know when he collected payment that the job wasnt complete and I wasnt satisfied. He insisted it would improve when dry. I called the next morning at 10:23AM on the 26th and called at 10:50AM the 27th. I drove to the address to speak directly to them since they wouldnt return my calls. As he mentioned it is a residence so Im sure there was someone there and the storm wasnt affecting our area at all this day, not until the evening. Also it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean the back of the chimney from the ground. No ladder used. If they dont use ladders to clean they should have shared this with me, that they wouldnt be able to do the job. Thank you.Customer response

I had Mrs. Powerwash wash our house, porch, patio & flagstones around the patio. They charged $290 plus I tipped them $40 (in the company recording tips are solicited). They were packing up while I walked around my house to look at the results. They had knocked a piece of siding off the house. I went back out to talk to them, they were in the truck, ready to pull away. They never said a word about knocking off the siding. When I said something, Robert said “oh, we use a soft wash not a hard pressure wash”. He then said something about maybe some air got behind the siding & lifted it up. He told me it would be easy to re- hang. He eventually said he would have one of his workers come out & take care of it when he was in the area. This was May 16. I never heard back from them. I called & left messages on May 27 and June 3 asking when they were going to come. I never got a call back. I called again on June 9 and said in that message that if I didn’t hear from them by the following Monday I was going to report him to the BBB, ******* **** and anything else I could think of. Robert called me back within an hour. He told me he’d been in the hospital for 10 days with COVID. I told him I was sorry to hear he had been ill, but since no one had returned my calls I had no way of knowing that. He proceeded to tell me that my siding must have been in bad shape for a piece to fall off, that he was originally going to fix it “as a courtesy” but since I threatened him he wasn’t going to do it now, he had the girl in his office transcribe the threats I made, he said he was going to have a meeting with the owner (I’m pretty sure he’s the owner), he said he’d done thousands of jobs & this rarely happened. I stood my ground, asked if someone listened to his voicemails and was able to transcribe my third call why did no one call after the first two calls, I repeatedly told him he said he’d get the siding re- hung, He got louder and more belligerent and finally hung up on me.Business response

Hello,
As we explained at the job we do a softwash 140 psi the spray is very lite and the cleaner actually does the work. A softwash will not knock down siding because it is the same as a garden hose on your siding. The siding was very loose and hanging and when we told you about it you said to rinse it and we did. The siding then fell off. If the siding was properly locked in it would come off. Again we are very sorry your siding was poorly on but we do not re hang siding that our soft pressure cannot knock off

I am rejecting this response because: This is a complete falsehood. Robert never said a word about the siding being loose, to either my husband or myself - either before the job or after the job. I certainly did not tell him to go ahead and rinse it. I found the siding lying on the ground after they finished and stopped them before they could leave to ask about it. He told me that he would send someone out to re-hang the siding. I know that I am not going to get this unscrupulous business owner to step up and do what he promised, but I do want it to be on the record at BBB about how he treats his customers.
