HORRIABLE SERVICE!!! HORRIABLE WORK MENSHIP! Owner, Mike, is very unprofessional and showed to be an old angry person and very very rude!!!! DO NOT USE! DO NOT USE! 1. Cement crew removed my gate but when reinstalled was not done correct causing gate to not shut right. So, I had to spend a couple hours correcting their sloppy work. 2. Gutter that was removed by the concrete crew was reinstalled wrong resulted in damaged to the drain pipe, and now leaks water and pipe does not drain properly. Now I have to pay a company to install a new cutter. 3. joints installed were NOT done properly. The 3rd day on the job, mike cut the joints with saw after the cement was dry. This is not proper method! According to the American concrete institute, cement joints are to be installed/cut while cement is still wet. 4. Mike gave no greeting, no good morning, no hello. No thank you for my business. 5. owner had no intentions of compacting the broken cement in accordance to American Concrete institute 6. Owner is very aggressive, combative, angry, rude, and unprofessional!!! 7. Sections of the cement work are lower than other sections such as there is a red line where the cement is to be filled but was not filled properly. 8. Sloppy estimate resulted in an over charge of $96.00. Mike was not willing to change this as he stated in a very aggressive tone over and over again, “it’s and estimate! It’s an estimate!” So, I reduced this amount from the final payment. 9. The crew Left cement on my side garage door. I can’t get the cement off. 10. The curb I requested to be part of the cement install is completely horrible! I gave to the owner very clear instructions of a curb I wanted to look just like the one on my street. I got instead a curb with different shapes and parts of the curb is 1 foot higher than another section of the curb 11. The workers put cement on a wood block and now is stuck to the side of the driveway and not able to remove the wood block!!!!!! DO NOT USE!Mike's Masonry & Concrete Repair Response

Brian,I find it troubling that after a few months of completing your project that you have a complaint. If there was a issue why didn't you call my office my phone number has not changed and office location is the same.If you will remember I told you at the beginning of the project that I was leery working for you because of all the complaint you have had with others that have worked for you. The gate was working properly when we left your project,If there was a piece of wood left on site all you had to de is call for us to pick it up,Down spout was taken down and reinstalled in the exact location ,the height of the curb is 3&1-2 inch above the finish grade of your driveway tapered down to 0 at the city sidewalk,You showed me no picture of any other type of curb or gave me an address of any other property to look at (I guess you expected us to drive all thru Huber Heights To find a curb of your liking) As far as me being a grumpy old man I'm very easy to get along with untill some one question our ability to do our work and untill someone ask for extra work for freeCustomer Response

Mike, As a customer and a disabled military veteran, I find it, and I am sure the general public and military veteran community, will find your nasty conduct towards me very disturbing. For a business of 50 years of experience I expect an unblemished job and to be treated as a customer. That did not happen. Instead, you were very nasty and unprofessional to me through the process! and you provided sloppy work! On the first day on the job, I brought some concerns and questions to you over the phone in a very nice manner. You immediately become hostile towards me and interrupted me with your very aggressive tone. It came to my attention your form work and methods were very sloppy and you were trying to save money by not doing the job properly. As I addressed my concerns with you over the phone, you became very irate with me and with a degrading tone, such as, “I been pouring concrete for 50 years! If you got a problem then get someone else to do your cement”. You went on and on in a demeaning tone with statements, “now you listen here” and don’t put words in my mouth”. Then later you offered to refund my money. When I inquired about your offer of a refund, you became angrier with condescending comments. I remained calm with you. Later I called you to go ahead with the job. Later in the evening of this same day, I did call you, left a message, and sent you a text. But you did not reply. I called again and went right to voice mail. I construed you blocked my number. None the less you continued the following day with the job. But you did a sloppy job! 1. You had no intentions of compacting the gravel base in accordance to American Concrete Institute. After I gave push back and remained firm this needs to be done. 2. I addressed with you an over charge of $96.00. You threw out your arms, then leaned back with your eyes very wide open, and in an aggressive tone stated, IT’S AN ESTIMATE! YOU WANT ME TO PUT IN THAT CEMEMENT! I WILL DO IT AND YOUR GATE WON’T SHUT! YOU WANT YOUR GATE TO SHUT OR NOT SHUT!!!! Your mean treatment caused my PTSD medical condition to rise to a very high level. I became very uncomfortable to be around you and I felt very unsafe around you. Then you continued to repeat yourself in a very aggressive tone over and over again, “it’s an estimate! It’s an estimate!” 3. Joints installed were NOT done properly. According to the American concrete institute, cement joints are to be installed/cut while cement is still wet at ¼ the thickness of the slab. You cut while the cement was dry. 4. No, you did not reinstall the gate properly. It would not close properly because it was not aligned properly. I fixed it. 5. The cutter was not properly reinstalled because your son made the open bigger thus casing the water to leak from the top of the drain hole! 6. Sections of the cement work are lower than other sections such as there is a red line where the cement is to be filled but was not filled properly. 7. Your crew Left cement on my side garage door. I can’t get the cement off! 8. No mike. You are not going to blame your sloppy work on me! Again, I am CUSTOMER! The curb I requested to be part of the cement install is completely horrible! I gave you very clear instructions of a curb I wanted to look just like the one on my street. I got instead a curb with different shapes and parts of the curb is very noticeable higher than another section of the curb! And the finish is very ruff like someone dragged a rake over it! It looks so bad it needs to be removed at no cost to me! 9. Your workers put cement on a wood block and now is stuck to the side of the driveway. You need to fix this problem. 10. There is excessive over spill of cement on the side of the curb due to improper footing/forming. 11. There are other defective portions that were later brought to my attention. The ones mention here are just the main ones. My original BBB reply to you was 6 January 2025 but was removed in error. I tried to reply again on 16 January 2025 but i was logged out. 17 January 2025 I sent a reply to you by mail with a copy of my google review, pictures of your defective workmanship and asking you when and how do you plan to rectify these deficiencies? You have not replied. In summary, your horrible treatment and conduct towards me caused my PTSD to spike. I became very uncomfortable to be near you and I felt unsafe to be near you. there is absolutely no justification for you to treat me the way you did for 3 days. Your feeling leery is not my problem. You took the job. I paid you $2,900.00 in 2 payments and you never even gave me a thank you for my business! Your crews left a mess of defective work and damaged my cutter. Most importantly, Your BBB reply confirms again that you have absolutely no concept that I am a CUSTOMER! In addition, you also confirmed that you do not have any customer service skills, you have no ability to even provide an apology for your sloppy work! Mike, so you are clear, your claim of asking for “free” work is unfounded! I never asked, implied, mention, suggested, or the such for you to do work for “free”. I just made it clear to you several times I want you to do the job correct and with no errors. Unfortunately, that did not happen! It is very clear why you were the lowest bidder for this job. In short, your workmanship is completely horrible and does not align with a cement company of 50 years of business nor with the American cement institute. In closing, so now, I want to know when and how YOU to intend to rectify these problems that you created? Give me a reply through BBB not later than 31 January 2025 of your intent to or NOT to correct your sloppy workmanship! “The memory of bad service last longer than the memory of good service”
