Horrible company. Charge processing fees to stop service. Reimbursement of overages take extermentley long to resolve. Avoid using them as a payment source.ExpertPay Response

ExpertPay only has "stop payment" fees if the user does not log in and cancel a payment prior to the cut off time and date. A user can cancel a payment or a recurring payment series without any charges if done prior to the cut off time. All fees are in the Terms of Service which are agreed to at the time of registration and at the time of payment.Review from Mark W

My actual vote is 0 starts. For this company and for my state for allowing this. This company exists to make $ off of people (primarily dads) paying child support. Someone actually thought this would be a great way to make money. It's kinda sick.ExpertPay Response

ExpertPay is not a part of any particular state. ExpertPay can be used for all 50 states. In many states, ExpertPay is a transaction free service when making a payment using a routing and account number. All fees for other payment methods are provided prior to making a payment and are available under the "FEES" tab. ExpertPay is not a mandatory method to make a payment and is simply an option.Review from Katrina H

I wouldn’t even give them a 1 star. I made a payment and their system processed it 2 separate times. I filed a dispute with my bank for one of the charges and was refunded. Expert pay then deactivated my account and demanded I pay them an additional $25 to reinstate my account due to the returned payment (THAT THEY PROCESSED TWICE NOT ME) I paid the $25 and now they’re telling me it will still be another week before I can make a payment again. Worst customer service and a complete scamExpertPay Response

ExpertPay does not have the ability to submit a payment. Every time a payment is submitted the user receives an email with a confirmation number, If the user did not intend to make two separate payments, the user is able to cancel payments made on a bank account until the 8:00 PM EST. ExpertPay is a debit-based system and reactivates the account once the fee has cleared the user's bank account.Review from Kyle T

With no option from the State of SD I am forced to pay an extra $50 a month due to fees to this garbage company that literally does nothing but transfer money from one account to another. I thought banks and credit card companies were bad, but this is extortion on another level. 3-5 business days to process my payment?! It should be done in seconds. 2.95% fee on a transaction for which they do nothing? Who is getting the kickbacks? $1.50 to transfer money from my account? Not even a bank charges that to move money in and out of their institution. They even charge a fee TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT that I am FORCED to have through the state. As if I wasn't an indentured servant already, these greedy low lives are taking advantage of people that are already in a difficult situation. I hope they and the states that are forcing people to use this are getting hit with one lawsuit after another.ExpertPay Response

ExpertPay is simply a method to make a child support payment and can be used for all 50 states. There is a one-time registration fee to cover the costs of authentication and bank account verification. For the State of South Dakota, there is a $1.50 transaction fee. The only time there is a $50.00 fee is if there is a payment returned by the user's bank account for insufficient funds. ExpertPay is a third-party provider and is not a part of the state. ExpertPay is not a mandatory method of payment for any state. All fees and payment information is clearly stated in the Terms of Service and must be agreed to upon registration and at the time of payment.Review from Stevie S

Regularly has the longest ACH processing time and highest CC processing fee of ANY payment processor I've EVER used - I have NEVER had a payment withdraw on a posted date - and makes a profit off of the NSF fees, so they have ZERO sympathy or humanity regarding the matter. Every other time I call for support, someone is rude, hangs up on me, or doesn't get back to me for 2-3 days. The ONLY reason they exist is because of parents being FORCED to use their terrible ACH system to make child support payments. Their processing times, fees, etc. are astronomical compared to consumer-based systems, because they don't have to improve anything - because it's either this or a money order to FOC. I want to highlight - this business' revenue DEPENDS on fathers' payments to support their children. And their system makes it harder to pay this than any other processing system I've experienced - I can only imagine how many instances in which ExpertPay was directly responsible for a child not receiving their support. ExpertPay runs entirely on an entrapment model, and should not be allowed to continue to do business.ExpertPay Response

ExpertPay is a transaction free service to the State of Michigan. The only fee for a payment made using a routing and account number is if a payment is returned by the user's financial institution to cover the returned payment fees. For parents paying support, there is a 2.95 percent convenience fee up to $60.00 for payments made using Venmo, credit card, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple pay. All fees are published and agreed to upon registration and at the time of payment. Payments made using a routing and account number follow the NACHA guidelines for debit base web payments and all other payments are sent to the state with a next day time-line. ExpertPay is simply a method to make a child support payment.Review from Johan B

I have been using ExpertPay for several years, but their customer service is unacceptable! I made a small chance in the profile and payments stopped completely without any warning. Customer service simply refused to help. This company should not be in business! It is only because the PA State bureaucracy is in such a ridiculous mess that this company still exists.ExpertPay Response

ExpertPay is a transaction free service to many states. ExpertPay debits the user's bank account as instructed by the user either as a one-time payment or recurring payments. The only time there is a $50.00 fee is if a payment is returned by the user's bank for an R01. This fee is agreed to upon registration and at the time of payment in the Terms of Service.
6. NONSUFFICIENT FUNDS FEE (NSF)
Any payment submitted using a bank account that is returned to CONDUENT for non-sufficient funds will result in a $50.00 NSF fee. This fee will be assessed to your account prior to any future use of the service. The payments that were originally submitted but resulted in the NSF will be stopped and must be re-submitted by you. When you submit payments using a bank account, an ACH debit is sent to your account(s) to withdraw the funds. The funds will then show as being received in our account and withdrawn from your account on the "settlement date". However, if your account did not have the funds to cover the ExpertPay® debit amount, then your Bank will notify ExpertPay® within two (2) days that the payment was NSF, and our account is debited. As a precaution, ExpertPay® holds all funds until we are confident that the funds have cleared your bank. We then send the funds to the appropriate state child support agency. If an NSF notice is received, we will cancel your original payment, and assess your account the $50.00 fee. Note, this is in addition to any fees your own bank may charge.Review from Jeremy M

App refuses to accept my SSN. I set up biometrics twice Nd the app refuses to keep it for my next login. This company does not make payments easier it makes them a total nightmare!ExpertPay Response

When using the app, there is the option to use biometric login. It does require to access the setting and manually activate it. We have asked the Customer Service Manager to contact you to assist you with the biometric feature.Review from Johnnie M

These people are not very good at their jobs. It's no wonder why support isn't paid they lack the resources to even comprehend what their job entails let alone give you any rational information that pertains to a support case.ive tried for a week to talk with someone who had any sense in their heads but to no avail.. they have no case numbers to reference anything. So now I send a check to support every week because they have no information on me even though I only changed jobs and had been paying for 4 years prior. Stay away because it's shady business.ExpertPay Response

spoke with ******* ********** and he is having his company take the child support payments out. However, ExpertPay does not have access to his case information. ExpertPay is simply a method to make a child support payment which can be used for all 50 states. We are required by NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association) to know who the end user is on the system. When entering the name, ssn and address, in order to authenticate the system requires the information to be accurate. When speaking with our Customer Service representatives, the user is able to escalate the call to the manager.Review from Paige W
