On August 10, 2022 I reached out to Tuckers Affordable Fence for a quote. I spoke with Craig D***** and he came with his crew (2 other men) on August 17 to start construction of the two fences we had been quoted for. Craig quoted us $4,000 for the option we wanted. Installation was completed on August 18. Fast forward to March 3, 2023 the wind blew our gate off the wood 2x4's, nails were all sticking out of the wood about 1/2 an inch. Upon further inspection after the above incident we further inspected the fence and found that they had attached our other gate to a fence picket that was cut to about 2 inches, this is what our gate is secured to. We also found multiple areas where the wood was splitting because of the 2 inch picket that was used. I sent Craig a message on messenger to let him know. We had multiple fence contractors come to our home and give us quotes. They let us know that the fence was not constructed properly and that if screws would have been used the gate would still be standing. Craig said he would be come to look at it on March 5, 2023., at about 12:30PM he let me know he would not be able to make it today. On March 6, 2023 Craig sent me a message on ******** messenger and let me know he would be out Wednesday( March 8) or Thursday (March 9). Craig never showed and never messaged me back. My husband and I ended up putting screws in both sides of the gates to anchor it more since the screws are too short that were used. Our fence lasted 7 months. I would just like for Craig and his fence crew to come fix the work that was previously done and do it right.

In regards to the complaint Tuckers Affordable Fence or any other fence company is not responsible for acts of nature/high winds. She clearly stated that it was high winds that caused the damage in her complaint. Although it was a pleasure working with her, we stay as professional as we possibly can be. Sincerely, Tuckers Affordable Fence.

Tuckers Affordable fence stated that they would come look at the fence, but they never actually did. We had several contractors tell us the fence was not constructed right, but since the fencing company never came out we never had the opportunity to talk in person and voice our concerns to show them the issues with the fence. My husband and I did end up putting screws in the gate that weren't constructed right to give it more stability. It's just a shame that the business was not professional and we paid so much money for our fence that couldn't withstand a year. We just wanted them to take accountability and do right by their business and customers, but it has become very apparent that is not going to happen.

    Thank you,

Tuckers Affordable Fence has responded to this complaint. As I have already expressed are view as a professional fence company going by what the customer clearly stated as follows. “ we had some high wends last night and it blew are gate off”… clearly stating that the “ high wends blew the gate off”… Our company or no other professional fence company is responsible for high winds or as to say “ acts of nature”..  I did go by and look at it and it was clearly visible the gate was tore off due to high winds and that it was also put back up by someone else. We regret our customer feels this way but policies are policies and we’re not responsible for wind damage. The week this happened we done repairs due to high wind damages that went on at this period of time. Was they are fences we done repairs to due to high wind damage? No! They were fences built by other companies for customers that understood the fact of “ high wind damage and we were contracted to fix what Mother Nature done as far as wind damage from the same exact night. Photos shown are clearly photos of the gate etc etc after the high winds tore it from the post. We also gave her a  Military discount to show are appreciation so why would we not want to fix her gate if we were at fault. Are reviews clearly show what kind of fence company we strive to be. Thank you

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

    Regards,

    ****** *******

I did state that high winds blew our gate down, but upon further investigation the gate was not constructed with high standards. It stood for 7 months, that is not a Hugh standard fence, your nails you use barely pierce the wood, that is not good for a fence you want to stay standing. I was also not provided a military discount, he fixed my side gate that was previously at my home before we bought it, which is now broken too. If a company says I will come look at it and see what we can do, then they have the integrity to do so.

July 2019. I paid $5690.00 to have a privacy fence installed. I was told by Craig D, my cousin, that he would personally take care of any issues with the fence for as long as I lived here. After the first winter the fence was leaning. I have been trying since spring of 2020 to get him to fix the problem. I was told he would get here asap. Never happened. Spring of 2021 he quit taking my calls or respond to my text. Now spring 2022 more of the fence is coming down!!! I need to get it fixed. I had my second open heart surgery in March. I’ve been off work since December 11, 2021. I can’t afford to hire another fence company.
