In November of 2021 we paid *** a deposit of 1/2 of the total estimate which was $3500. We also spent more than $3500 on material for the bathroom remodel project. I did all of the demo prior to leaving him to start the project on February 11, 2022 while we went out of town (knowing it was our only bathroom) *** agreed to complete the job in 11 days. When we returned on February 21, 2022 almost nothing was done, only a little bit of floor leveling which was not done correctly. *** had a lot of excuses why the project was taking longer than he had planned. We continued allowing *** to work on our bathroom, after all, he did have our money. He missed every deadline we agreed to aver the next several weeks. We had to spend more than 2 weeks on hotels at our own additional expense then started using other friends and family bathrooms while we had no toilet or shower. ***** work was sloppy, not up to code and not installed to manufactures instructions. On March 4th *** packed up all his tools and walked off the job. He finally replied to me in a text a week later and then picked up the phone when I called. I asked for only my deposit back and that we would settle for that. If we were going to take him to court we would be looking for full compensation of the deposit, all material (that had to be removed and replaced by other contractors who we had to hire to complete our job) or reimbursement for all the hotel nights we also incurred. He told me there were laws that protected him from people like me and hung up. I have not heard from him again.

We hired Baileys Handyman Service in February to remodel a bathroom. We gave him a total deposit of $2600. We made several attempts to contact him to ask certain questions about products we had agreed to purchase and could not get a hold of him. When finally getting a hold of him we had asked for a starting date. He had told us that his starting date was the week of May 23. My question still one unanswered about sizing of a cabinet and some plumbing that we had concerns about. We have tried to contact him the week of Easter and he sent me a text stating he was not taking any business related calls that weekend he would get back in touch with me on Monday to answer any concerns. Which he did not. I tried several other times to contact him about questions and concerns we had about products that we needed to purchase with no contact back from him. We had agreed to totally remove all flooring cabinets trim sink and toilet from the bathroom prior to his arrival for remodel. He stated it would be the week of May 23 so we had totally removed all items we agreed to on May 20. When trying to reach out to him again about certain things we got a recording stating he was not available until after May 23. May 26 there was still no contact from him so we contacted Angies list which is where we found him. After a voicemail from them he then contacted me by text stating he returned home from vacation very ill but would address my concerns later that afternoon. Still no contact. A few days later I contacted him again he told me he had Covid and was not working in anyones home. We told him we would give him two weeks to get better and the bathroom completely finished or we would like a refund. Still no contact from him. I then advised him that I had contacted the attorney general and would not hesitate to file this in court. He then told me he was now cutting off all contact with me that I was doing this for no reason. We want a full refund from this man of $2600

On Nov 17, 2021 we hired Baileys Handyman Services LLC to finish a living room and bathroom in our basement. We gave him a deposit of $4500. He did not begin work until January 14, 2022. On January 21,2022 he then asked for an additional deposit of $2000 which we gave, now totaling $6500. He did some work in March, cutting concrete and getting a portion of the framing done. At that time we verbally agreed on an end of April deadline. The last time he returned any of my texts was March 28. He did not return any calls or texts in April until he finally responded by email on April 26 saying “he had been dealing with personal issues that kept him out of commission but that he would be in touch shortly.” We gave him a week, then sent an email giving him a deadline of May 31 to complete our project or refund us. I also mailed a copy of the email to his address to ensure he would receive the notice. He has not responded in any way to the email/letter and has not returned any calls, and the May 31 deadline has now passed. We would like to be reimbursed for the incompleted work.
