On July 18, 2024, Macke Roofing (******* himself) gave me an estimate on my house and garage roof. ******* seemed to be very rushed. We discussed what options could be done with the house. He talked about putting a ridge vent on (and pointed to the neighbors across the street) or adding more raised vents to the roof. He asked me questions about the roof that I could not answer because I did not own the house at the time the original roof was put on. I told him he can go up in the attic and look around to find some of the answers he was looking for. He declined and said "we can do raised vents or a ridge vent".I yielded to him to make the decision. The original signed contract shows 9 vents in total. ***** ******, who worked as his GM at the time, approved the contract. ***** has since then resigned from Macke Roofing after working there for seven years. She is now working for another roofing company. Macke Roofing was over $2,000.00 more than other contractors. However, I decided to go with him because I always try to support local businesses, and he is a Veteran like my dad. As of today, there are only three raised vents and still no paint on my stack. ******* made another contract with ******* name crossed off (after I paid him and he said he would fix the problem) that shows seven vents. I still only have three! And now my roof is not up to code. His brother, **** came out and told me he would paint and talk to his brother about making things right. ***** even talked with ******* and told him he needs to take care of his customers and she would make sure that I would be taken care of. I have text messages with ******** ***** and *****. I have given almost three weeks for him to make it right. He has yet to do so. This has been extremely stressful and beyond frustrating dealing with him.I am left with large tire ruts in my front yard and a roof with no warranty now.

    Business response

    12/05/2024

Business states complainant did not let the business fulfill the contract over a dispute they are having with their neighbor.  They did return and corrected several issues and also refunded a portion of her funds back to her.  The complainant defaulted on the contract therefore no further services will be provided.

I paid 19,400$ for the job of my roof replacement. In the pics you can see my roof mast is cocked to an angle, it wasnt like that before the install The peak of my roof goes up to a weird angle and the contractor put up new plywood for that entire section. My gutters on the NW corner of my home have the supports cut and its falling down they also damaged a down spout that needs replaced and multiple gutter supports are missing around the house that they cut off. Also corner gutter seems were busted apart and have to be recaulked. During the install they left chicken bones laying throughout my yard that I had to pick up so my dogs wouldnt get them, they took power from my chickens on a 100° degree day that was powering a fan and only put it back after i caught them. They had to go inside of a building they were not even contracted to touch to do this After the first day they were there, there was garbage strewn about and in the neighbors property and in the farmers field south of my house. I told the estimator before the project of a 2x6 that was rotten, they took the roof off and put plywood down and it still wasnt replaced so i made a call to the contractor and they said they were not trying to hide it after told. Then the roof was finished and it was still here, i had to tell a 3rd time before it was "fixed". I dont know how you replace a 2x6 that needs replaced after the roof is finished. They said there was nothing they could do about the service mast that is cocked and the peak of my roof. I contacted the estimator on 8/25/22 about the damaged gutters, down spouts and cut supports. They said someone would be out to fix it and then i had to text again on 9/26/22 and asked if they forgot about me and now they are just stringing me along in asked that they come and fix the damage they did too my house and give a partial refund and was met with "sorry its not getting done on your timeline and they work was done so there was not reason to give a refund.
