JD Flora had replaced my roof, siding, soffit, gutters, and facia. I have been in contact with the salesman and the owner of the company. I have emails and text messages to show proof of communication. We did a walk around after the job was completed with the owner. Dave told me that he would have someone come back out to fix the issues. A man showed up in flip flops and glued down the siding that was coming off and smeared caulking all over the place. I contacted them again and he said he couldn’t fix their mistakes. I asked him if I needed to hire another contractor to do so and he said that was fine just to send him the quotes for approval first. The contractors that came and looked at the job said it was all done incorrectly and not to code. I notified Dave and sent him the quotes. He has since not responded to me or answered my calls. I have siding coming off the house and shingles are pooping up. I am worried that this could lead to water damage or other issues. I would like to have the issues fixed and have a piece of mind. I think that is fair for getting an entirely new exterior.Business response

Insurance Claim loss on March 26, 2021 - homeowner showed me the claim shortly after and I requested a readjustment from insurance company and got his claim upgraded from partial roof, siding, gutters and gutter guard and fascia wrap to readjusted for entire roof, entire siding, all gutters and downspouts and all new gutter guard and also two new windows and garage doors that were not previously included in the initial adjustment. We had contract signed August 1, 2021 and completed roof and received payment on September 8, 2021. We installed the siding, soffit fascia, gutters and gutter guards and windows approximately December 1, 2021. Homeowner said it was a good job on all work but he wanted some minor corrections done on the gutters because he thought they were cut a little too short on a couple of the rakes. We came back and installed with more length. Also he was concerned about a little oil canning on the fascia wrap in a couple of areas and we replaced. He had a complaint concerning electric outlet cover and we installed a new cover. We made best attempt to recaulk around some pipe penetrations. The roof or siding has no leaks and where one of the pieces did come loose, we reattached at customer's request. Initial claim was because a tree limb hit the house and the tree is still standing and we have had multiple storms since the job was completed but we were making best effort to correct all concerns.

They never resolved any of the issues that we discussed when Dave, the owner of the company came to my house and did a walk around to look at all of the issues. I had been in direct contact with him until I filed this complaint. He told me he would get things taken care of and that is all that I would like to see happen. The problem now is the siding and roof are starting to come off and there are holes through the siding that I can see plywood. As far as the statement about the tree still standing, that is untrue. The entire tree came down when the house was struck. It shouldn’t matter whether this is an insurance claim or not. The job should still be done correctly so that I don’t have to have it all done again. It looks and sounds like he is not offering to come to a kind of resolution.

Date of transaction was 08-13-22. I paid $2518.00 half of original contract.
To start out with it looks like this company has an answer for everything. I was to have several projects done.
First let me say that Ray T***** has lied about most of them. I have 4 brand new cheap windows as one of the company's own workers told me they were, with plastic hair dryer shrink wrap over them because they leak so bad. I also have 4 heavy blankets along the baseboards where the cold air is blowing in. I was told 5 times the new insulation would be put in all around the new windows. I was told by Ray T***** to go to **** ***** and buy some for them to use. They tried to tell me OSB BOARD and HOUSE WRAP would keep me nice and warm! You could see my drywall.
There was Jim that messed up everything so badly that Noah and Carlos had to come out and try to repair his mess. None of the cheap plastic latches make a tight seal when locked and you can still open all of them at least 1/4 to 1/2 an inch. Someone poked a hole through the cheap wobbly plastic screens. The spline has fallen out of all of them. I had to get on a ladder and stuff insulation around the gapping hole of my bedroom window before it was closed by the second guys. No one ever fixed the fascia board, but Jim lied to Ray and said he did!
I had to hire someone else to fix the leaking gutter that was replaced. I'm going to have to replace 4 of these horrific windows and also have insulation put in. Have the gutter taken off to repair the rotting fascia board correctly in the spring, and have the gutters aligned to head down to the downspouts at the correct ratio. This has all been re-inspected.
I want nothing to do with this company. I asked Ray T***** for an invoice and warranty 5 times but he wouldn't give me either one.
David F**** should have know better. He was here and saw this mess. I asked him if he would want his house to look like this? The best part Ray was going to charge me 528 extra to fix their 1st mistake!

I have have never lied to the customer
Four new high quality Vinyl Max windows were installed
One of the windows I was told did not close properly and I contacted Vinyl Max and they were going to send out a warranty crew to remedy and she said she did not want them to call or respond to correct
We initially installed two squares of siding around the newly installed windows and she was happy with the work until her neighbor inspected and did not like the work. We came back and did an inspection of the installer's work and I wanted to make corrections so I sent a new crew and removed the siding and installed new wood substrate and reinstalled the siding and installed trim around the windows and below the newly installed windows. Installed fascia wrap on the newly installed trim. I had a disclaimer on the contact to charge extra for wood that was used per linear ft and per square ft.
Regarding the gutters: fascia wood was not rotted and so not replaced. I gave her a price to install fascia wrap on the boards and she said she was just going to paint them herself next spring. She told me she was happy with the job after second installer was out there and now she refuses to pay her balance due.
Pictures submitted with the complaint are before second installer went out and made corrections. She would not allow me back on the property or make any contact with her or she would file charges against me.

On Dec. 8, 2022 I had a very small chance to respond to *** ******* ************** *******
I responded to five issues in detail that he had returned to you.
I got to the bottom, and basically it was too long, and I had attached two pictures.
The response said when you start, you have thirty minutes until it's closed. At that time I just put three small lines so that there was at least some response.
The day before I had closed out, making it look like I had accepted their response.
I've been on permanent and total disability since 1999, with the State if Ohio. It's hard to keep up, but I have a clear recollection of what happened in my case.
This complaint is still ongoing. The second crew of JDFLORAROOFING CO
actually shook their heads, and asked Ray T***** if "this guy really worked for him." I wanted to add that because Ray T***** said "my neighbor didn't like the work, so I changed my mind."
My neighbor just started showing me all of the things that were wrong.
That's when I called David F**** myself on a Sat. to tell him how upset I was, because Ray T***** wouldn't listen to me.
I never bothered to let Ray T***** know that I had called David F****, and that he was coming out at 1:00 the next Monday.
David F**** let him know, he picked up Ray T*****, and they showed up.
So there wasn't any voluntary repair from a second crew decision made by him to have the second crew come out. David F**** made the decision.
I have known him since sixth grade, and Ray T***** has lived on my street for twenty nine years.
I thought they would be fair.
They have changed their website, and removed three of their bad reviews.
Each time David F**** responded himself.
Twice, it was "we don't have this person as a customer."
Now, it's completely different, and all is well.
All I know is, I have to buy four new windows, and insulation to keep warm right now. I can verify for you the amount of money I make per month on disability to buy these products with.
As you may know, the first thing everyone will always tell you is, don't psy in full until the job is finished, and to your satisfaction. That's all that I am doing.
Please allow me to address each issue in Ray T*****'s response.

I will be willing to withdrawal my complaint in order to have my thebalance in full forgiven.I have ordered new windows that costs 4100.00 , I am also having insulation blown infor over 1500.00.They will not come out and do just one wall.I also have to pay to have all of the extra soffit, fascia board , and gutter work repaired.So, the 3058.00 will not begin to cover all of the new expenses incurred, but I can't begin to seethat your company could begin to start all over, and make my home a comfortable placeto live again.Today with the wind gust we're having, the air is blowing right through the plastic and cardboardaround the windows. I've also had my furnace on 76 degrees for most days, and a space heatergoing.I just wanted you to know Dave, that both you and I know that Ray T***** was never truthfulduring the mediation process.Sincere,******** * ********* please advise on the finalization of this complaint.
