After a couple months of working with CAP Restoration, I received a text this morning telling me they will not longer be scheduling reconstruction work and I need to contact Westhill Global for next steps. I had already received the estimate, they worked with my insurance and the last step was to finalize cabinets needing replaced and schedule the work. I was very open about our first child coming the end of August and looking to have the work completed before that and before this morning, it seemed everyone was on the same page. To get this news over a text, no phone call or email, is disappointing and unprofessional. They will not call or text me back, and now need to start the process over without even N explanation of what happened.

We had extensive water damage from an ice maker leak. Our insurer contracted a water mitigation company (Code Blue) that subcontracted the work to CAP Restoration. The water damage required lifting wall-to-wall carpet off the floor and removal of the soaked carpet padding. One of the *** workers made a rough, off-seam cut across the length of the carpet. This action damaged the carpet beyond repair. We contacted *********************** who was our contact at Code Blue, and emailed him the photos of the carpet damage from the rough cut. He in turn, terminated CAP Restoration and told them to pick up their equipment. We contacted another mitigation company to finish they job. Our carpet was in excellent condition, but the damaged that CAP Restoration inflicted added $8,000 to the damages and delayed return-to-normal by several weeks. *** also missed high levels of moisture in baseboards and flooring. Our insurer covered everything except the work done by Code Blue/CAP Restoration. This should have ended the ordeal, but we received an invoice from Code Blue for $535.27. This is in spite of the fact that they were contracted by the insurer (not by me) who understably didn't pay them; and, CAP Restoration was removed from the job by *********************** (Code Blue) who was managing the project. We contacted *********************** (said he would fix it) and wrote a follow-up letter to the billing department. In spite of our efforts, invoices from Code Blue continued for five months and now we are being invoiced by CAP Restoration. I hope that this review helps prevent someone else from having an experience like ours. Dealing with severe water damage is horrible, but using an incompetent mitigation company makes it far worse.

Dear ***************, I apologize for your experience last year. I will be taking the appropriate investigative steps to ensure that this doesnt happen again. I will say that even though we try to open up carpet seams as best we can there are sometimes unforeseen issues that can cause the carpet not cooperate with us during the process. Delamination is normally the main issue the causes the seam to not open properly and appear jagged. Even if the carpet seam is opened up cleanly delaminnation can cause the carpet to loose a good mount of strength and tear or rip when the installers would go back to install the carpet. What delamination is, is when the materials that make up the carpet start to separate due exposure of water. We had recently received word that the claim was under your deductible and that we were to collect for our services up until the point were stopped. With that notice we issues an invoice accordingly. Since then we have seen that your insurance carrier is going to be picking up this payment and we discussed that on our call this afternoon. As you know at that time we canceled your invoice to CAP. Overall: payment issue has been resolved.
