I hired ******** ****** and his company “Tree Experts” to remove a tree, trim others, and grind stumps that were left. I was told that once the tree was removed they would return to grind the stump. It has been 2 weeks and they have not returned to grind the stump. I have a signed contract. They are no longer answering my calls.

This woman has not been charged for the stump grinding!! Its wrote on her contract that and she’s well aware.. The issue is she made numerous phone calls over and over Demanding someone come and grind her stump when it was already talked about it would be at least two weeks.. After a few of her kind words that she said to me, I responded that my company will not grind your stump. You can take your $200, and find another company.. have her produce her contract thank you

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Here is the contract. The company clearly circled "NO" to the question "Additional charge for Stump Removal." They then added a note that I would pay "$50 when done. opp. from tree work." In conversations with the son, I was told that the work would be completed, including stump removal, and that I would give the stump guy $50 when they came. I was told that they would contact me to schedule. I was fine with 2-3 week window, and reiterated that I just needed to know when it would happen.

I made 5 calls to this company. Not numerous calls over and over. This can be seen in the screenshot. I did not call more than one time per day. I left one voicemail.

I called on Friday, 8/9, and the phone was answered. I was told "the stump grinder is in your area. let me call them and I'll call or text you back." I did not receive a response back.

I called on Saturday, 8/10 and Sunday 8/11 (they performed work for me on both Saturday and Sunday in July, and their contract did not include hours of operation, so my assumption was that weekends were ok to make business calls). I called a final time on Monday 8/12. I did not get any answer. I called a 5th and final time using my work phone. That is when I got an answer, as if the company was screening their calls to avoid speaking with me. I spoke with the son on Monday, 8/12, using my work number. He told me that the stump grinding would "make a huge mess in my yard." and "didn't we flush cut that? do you really want the stump ground and a huge mess in your yard?" I told him yes, I want the stump ground. He told me that he would call the stump grinder and find out when they could come, though he couldn't give me an exact date or time, just that it would be 2-3 weeks out (from 8/12, not from the day they performed the work in July). I was ok with that and told them I just need a time frame.

Later that day, the father called me and berated me saying that he was "done with me" and "will never send a stump grinder." This is inappropriate. My contract is clear that stump grinding is not additional. At this point I do not feel comfortable working with these individuals, nor do I feel that they will ever come and perform the agreed upon work. Their BBB rating is an F, and I can see why.

The work was performed at her house at the end of July and we clearly communicated when the stump would be grounded. She called and lied. Four days after the job was complete. Saying she’s getting fined by her homeowners association because the stump isn’t grind out I contacted the president of the homeowners association and that was never communicated with her.. She is a customer you can never satisfy after the stump is grounded out. There would be a mound of wood chips and she was not fine with that. She wanted everything removed and we explained that that would be a re-sod  and there would be An additional cost this is why we don’t collect money on stump grinding till it is done and that’s why it’s circled no on the contract and we made a sidenote on the contract explaining that that she is fully aware!!! I would like for her to find another company to grind her stump.. I explained to her that I can’t do free work.. Thank you

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

business owner is making excuses saying I won’t be satisfied with their work, and therefore they refuse to complete it. I am saying that their work is incomplete. How will there be a resolution if business refuses to complete work on the basis that they assume I won’t be satisfied?

I hired Stump Cutters, owned by ******** ******* ****** on 10/15/2022 to cut down two trees, grind two stump, trim various trees, and apply a solution to my yard for bugs. After speaking to ******* (the team who comes out) we agreed on the price of $2,500 for all services. I told them that they could start the next day because we wouldn't be home later. We left our house and when we returned, they had already cut down two trees. We thought well they mean business and will finish this job quickly. We had to leave our house and we ended up paying them in full. They also said they'd leave an invoice on my door, they didn't. They left the stumps and didn't finish spraying our yard, telling us they would be back on Monday. After three weeks of calling, and texting I was always told, it'll be tomorrow, it'll be this, it'll be that, the job is still not done. I've called the owner of the company, left a voicemail, he has never returned my call. Each time I call, it goes to voicemail. They have a nice little scam going on by starting a job, collecting hard earned money, and never finishing. I'm now going to have to hire another company to finish what they started. This also happened to two other neighbors in my neighborhood. Buyer Beware!

On May 4, 2022 we contracted with Stump Cutters to cut down 4 trees, grind down the stumps, blow off debris from roof, & apply pesticide around perimeter of house. The only work they did was to cut down the 4 trees. They said they would come back on Monday, May 9, to finish the remainder of the work as their grinder for the stumps was broken and needed repair. Needless to say, they did not return nor were we able to contact them as they did not return our many phone calls. In addition, they took a rake and tarp out of our garage and did not return them. One of our pine trees was damaged due to a branch from the tree they were cutting down hitting the top of the pine tree and severing the top. Unfortunately, we paid the entire amount that was quoted. Therefore, we have no leverage for them to come back.
