I signed a contract with Strongsville Fence Co. on 6/29/22. A deposit of $12,868 was then paid and cleared the bank on 7/1/22. I had traded messages with Nancy back on 8/25 where she was ready to submit the request for a permit to the City of Broadview Heights regarding the fence. After no calls or messages after that, I found out that the owner (Chuck T****) was tragically struck and killed by a drunk driver on 8/26. After calls back to Nancy, she relayed my message to Mr. T****'s wife. I was informed via e-mail that Chuck was involved with the company with every step of the process on every job. Because of this, the business was small by design. Unfortunately, due to this sudden and tragic loss, all business was suspended. The e-mail also stated that there are no funds on hand. Unfortunately, the business is shut down. They no longer have access to the RaeTrent Remodeling, LLC and/or Strongsville Fence Co., LLC phone numbers and email addresses. There is a contact e-mail address at rtrsfconcerns@yahoo.com. I have messaged them multiple times, but with no response. The project was late due to COVID, but given timing the materials should be on hand somewhere. I'm looking for the materials to be delivered or ultimately a refund of the $12,868.

I paid deposit of $3395 for installation of fencing on my newly constructed home. Deposit paid via check on 8 July, which was cashed on 11 July according to our bank statement. We were awaiting final approval from city on grading of land, which was finally received on 14 October. Numerous attempts to reach Charkes *****, Owner, rested in no return responses. I drove to addresses on business card (vacant building) and address on contract (a residential home that no one answered). I then did a Google search and discovered Mr. ***** had been killed on 26 August on an auto accident. No other business associates were ever identified and no one has contacted us to inform us of the tragedy, nor that our work cannot be completed. I am now trying to recover my deposit of $3395.

I contracted with Chuck ***** in April 2022 to complete two jobs. One for a new fence and the other for a small siding project and gutters. I gave him a deposit of approx. $5,300 for both. There was some delay in getting the supplies but Chuck was emailing and texting me to keep me updated on the projects. I last heard from Chuck on August 3rd just letting me know that there were some delays etc. He would continue to keep me updated. I had Chuck do work for me in 2018 so I was not concerned. He is a very nice and reputable person. However here it is October and I hadn't heard more. I thought maybe something happened to him, was he sick or injured? I searched for an obituary just to make sure he wasn't dead and sadly found that he had been killed in a car accident on August 26th. I was shocked and deeply saddened. I have since emailed, text and called the business but have gotten no response. I am sure that they are grieving and that this is a very difficult time for them but they need to contact customers and let them know what is going on. Hopefully he was bonded and insured and able to either refund his customers or complete the jobs. I don't know what to do. Can you advise me? I have contracts and receipts of cashed checks
