On 10-4-2023 Roof Ohio removed our old roof and installed a new one. During this process they walked on the garage roof, a completely unrelated roof to the current job. While wandering all over this roof, one of them fell partially through, punching a hole in the roof and damaging other parts. They were informed and warned by the gentleman that did the estimate, that the roof was not stable but proceeded to ignore the warnings and walk all over it anyway. They put a temporary patch over the hole. But a patch is just that, a patch and not a repair.

The installers were on that portion of the roof to pick up debris which had blown over from the connected slope RoofOhio Inc was installing. Our installers do not "wander all over" any roof. Unfortunately, as careful as our installers were, the extent of the rot was not evident from the top of the roof. The homeowner had requested an estimate for framing and replacing the section of the roof where the incident occurred, which indicates he was aware of the extent of the rotted sheeting. RoofOhio Inc declined to give such estimate because RoofOhio Inc is not currently framing any buildings. Our installers patched the area of damage with a patch that is beyond the integrity of the balance of the roof. Our patch will outlast the remaining portion of the roof.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:The crew was advised to stay off the roof by ***** because it lacked structural integrity in some areas. On 10-4-2023 I confirmed with ***** that he indeed informed the crew to not go onto the roof.
The roofers crossed the entirety of the roof to take a break in the shaded area. Excellent crew, doing exactly the opposite of what they're told not to do.
The "patch" is just covering the damage done. I just want it repaired and we're done. Keep in mind, litigation will be much more expensive for you than a simple repair. At which point I will bring up the hole that was ignored and roofed over.
