I took my 2010 red Dodge Challenger in for repairs for a fan and radiator issue.

I returned to the dealership becaue the fan wasn't kicking in. The car sat for a week, they said the fan had a short. They told me they were waiting on parts. When I called to check, they said there might be a wiring issue, and the check engine light was reading multiple codes.

I called to check, and was told it would have to be taken to a dealership. When I returned to pick it up, I was told it was acting crazy. I asked what was going on with the electrical issues. They broke the dipstick checking the coolant. While the car was in their possession, they busted the headlight bracket/bumper. A friend said they saw a vehicle back into my car on their lot.

I had it towed to ****** White in ******, who advised me there was no coolant, and there was black electrical tape on everything, and they would not repair my car.

I am waiting on a final repair estimate from ******. They are estimating $150 an an hour of labor.

Customer brought vehicle to the shop on July 24, 2024 stating radiator fan isn't working. We originally install one in Feb 2024. Tested radiator fan and determined the resistor isn't working. Course of Action - Replace radiator fan assembly under warranty

After install radiator fan assembly, as soon as vehicle as started, the resistor on new fan assembly blew. Ordered in another assembly.

Installed another fan assembly and once again, upon starting vehicle the fan resistor blew. Therefore there is another underlying wiring issue causing a power surge to the fan resistor. This is something that would have to go to the dealership as there is after market wiring installed on vehicle.

Vehicle was picked up by AAA on 8/22/24

For the complaint that we broke dipstick checking coolant - coolant doesn't have a dipstick therefore we couldn't have broken something we never touched.

For the complaint that there was no coolant in vehicle - we didn't drain any coolant out of the vehicle while doing the repairs, therefore we wouldn't have added any back in.

For the complaint that we damaged the headlight area - we have video camera on all 4 corners of the building and it arrived at our location already damaged.

dealership said and if it happens six months ago they are still responsible for it because when you started something together every time it can cause it to short out and have problems again

And that it was wired wrong from the get-go or this would have never continued to happen instead of going down unplugging it the proper way from the connection they cut the wires into

The one picture of the dipstick tube isn't something we even touched. 2nd picture is again of something we did not do. The 3rd picture is of the radiator fan assembly that is wired correctly, as it has new wires with shrink wrapped which is the proper way to wire something. If the wiring of the radiator fan assembly caused this issue, it would have happened in February when we made the initial repairs, not 6 + months later.

We will not be paying for repairs for things that we did NOT cause.

I am rejecting this response because: I have attached a note from **** ****** indicating the overheating issue is related to the cooling fan function. They tracked the issue to the wiring related to the cooling fan.

I dropped off the Charger July 24th. On July 26th, I texted ****. **** said they checked the oil, and they are waiting on a part expected today.

On July 27th, I called ****, and she said she would call me back. I contacted her on August 5th - **** said the fan assembly and wiring to the fan were replaced. She said once they replaced it, they started the vehicle and it blew up instantly. Then she said they replaced it two times. I asked why it was replaced again, and she said she she didn't know if it was wired wrong, I could hear **** in teh background say "Mom stop, don't tell her nothing, we will have to pay for it". So she went on and said, "Well **** is **** to try to wire teh fan back in, and go from there to make sure it's wired correctly".

I called back on the 7th and asked how it was going. She said waiting on parts, and she would get back with me.

On August 9th, I called to ask if the car was repaired and how much was owed. She told me the car was unable to be repaired due to wiring the fan assembly. Then she said if my husband woulcd come in tomorrow, **** would show him how to hook up a cargo switch.

Tuesday August 13th, **** asked when we were coming to pick up car, I said things have been crazy but we would pick it up. I asked if the check engine light was on, and she said yes, it's a wiring issue, it's junk, but they were going to try to replace the wiring again.

On August 22nd I picked up the keys.  I asked **** if I could start the car. **** said no. I asked why doesn't my car start. **** showed me the piece, black with green, that was part of my fan assembly that kept blowing. He said see these wiring that's burnt, I said it looks like black marks from a copy machine. Then he showed me a new one which had green wires on it. **** said he didn't want to be responsible for it, and wouldn't work on it any further.

On August 23rd, I met AAA to get it towed to ****** White. When we got there, ****** White tried to jump the car, but it wouldn't start. ****** White told me the wiring has been cut from the wiring harness, and it was fused back together, and for me to look and see the new wires, which I did. (in the pic the green wires are new). ** said it looks like the dash is shorting out, and a code reads contact local dealer which it didn't say when I originally took it to Deputy. If the code originally said contact dealer, then they should not have touched it but told me to take it to a dealer.

So, it's my position that **** ******** note shows all of the issues go back to the mis-wiring performed by Deputy.

If it was a wiring issue that only the dealership could repair, why did they attempt the repair in the first place?

****** White is telling me my labor cost will be approximately $800, and I am waiting on the parts portion of the bill.

    Regards,

To whom it may concern, We have completed the electrical issue diagnostics on the vehicle.  The vehicle was found to have the wiring plug to the cooling fan assembly configured incorrectly.  The wiring has been sorted out and is now correct however, the cooling fan resister is showing to be faulty which is  likely due to being configured incorrectly and would need replaced.  The part is not available separately and would require cooling fan assembly replacement.  Estimate including already completed repairs is $1146.00 plus tax.

My Honda CRV 2011 car broke down on the highway 10/27/2022 last Thursday evening. Smoke came out of the vehicle and turned into an oil-like liquid all under.

I took the vehicle with the tow truck to the deputy's mechanic. They said the vehicle was ready on 10/31/2022, I took the vehicle and parked it in front of my house, which is 15 minutes away. I couldn't start the car after 15 minutes. An hour later it worked on its own. Then in the morning I dropped the kids off at school, it didn't work again.

Mechanic from deputy's inspected the car and said it was okay. I came home from 2 miles away and parked the car and after 10 minutes it didn't start again. The car looked like it was overheating. The engine is not cooling. It's kind of like it works again when it cools down. The radiator pipe had come off and there was no water left in it. I connected the pipe and added water. At this time, heavy smoke started to come out of the exhaust. the vehicle is no longer running. We cannot use the tool.

Actually, the car didn't have a problem, shouldn't the mechanic look at the water or the engine and know that the pipe is out when going to the repair? I am complaining about the change in the process applied to the vehicle, but the vehicle's antifreeze is empty, the vehicle's dehydrated and the engine of the vehicle is dehydrated, and I am complaining about the deputy's firm, as they inflicted material and moral damage on me and my family.

    Re: *** ********

    To Whom It May Concern,

Regarding the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau, please find the following information.

The customer did indeed have their vehicle lowered to our shop for an oil leak. We determined that the oil pressure switch was bad and replaced the part (see attached invoice). When the vehicle left our lot on I0/31/22, it was not leaking oil therefore the repairs that were requested had been completed.

The office clerk received a call from the customer a couple hours later stating their vehicle wouldn't start. I called the customer back to ask questions and to find out where the vehicle was located so I could go look at it and was told they got ii running and my assistance was not needed.

The customer called again the next morning of 11/1/2022 saying her car wouldn't run. When trying to make arrangements to go look at the vehicle, I was given the runaround to as where the vehicle was located. When the customer phoned in, they reported that the vehicle was not running but they were driving it around town. We eventually met up al the local gas station and we looked over the vehicle. We scanned the vehicle with our computer, and no codes were displayed. We checked the oil, since that was the issue, the vehicle was originally at our repair shop for. The oil was found to be at the correct level. The vehicle was sitting there running normally at normal temperature with no fluid found on the ground during the inspection.

We returned to our repair shop only to be called again late afternoon stating the car quit running again. I once again made arrangements to go inspect the vehicle which was located at their apartment this time. Upon arrival I found their maintenance man working on the vehicle. I inspected under the vehicle and there were no fluids found under the vehicle to suggest that there were any issues. At this time the maintenance man got irate with me, therefore I left to avoid confrontation as it wasn't the maintenance man's vehicle for me to argue with him over.

I don't feel that our repair shop is responsible for any new repairs as the new complaint the customer has isn't related to the issue that was fixed at our shop plus. they let another person work on their car and I don't know what that person did to the vehicle. The issue that brought the vehicle to our store was an oil leak and we fixed that issue.

The new complaint has to do with overheating and coolant issues which was inspected both times we went to the customer and no new issues were found. The first time the vehicle was silling and running at normal temperature while it was looked over. The second time the vehicle was not running but no fluids were located under the vehicle to indicate any issues which also at this time, they were letting another person work on the vehicle which does not work for me; therefore I am not responsible for anything that person did to their vehicle.

If you have any questions in regards to this matter, please feel free to contact me at my shop at *************

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******
