    Through *********, I found a perfect 2 bedroom, 1 bath ************ apartment, with 2 car garage, and basement with laundry, at a time when I was dealing with a major life change. There were a number of repairs and upgrades that were required in my apartment during my 1 and 1/2 years there, as they had recently taken responsibility for the building. All were handled well by friendly maintenance staff. As I was moving in, I needed help with a large item, and by chance, one of their maintenance staff was just arriving. Thinking he was a resident, I asked if he might help, and he did, without hesitation. When it was discovered that my furnace and AC were not working properly, replacement started within 2 days of notification. Any general questions or concerns I had were always handled well by internal staff. I appreciated having a safe home in a good neighborhood that helped me during my transition.

    1 star is generous. This company has only taken over managing the property where I live for 2 months and it has been an absolute circus since day one.The lease I signed with the former property manager says my rent is due on the 13th and LaPlante keeps trying to force me to pay rent on the 1st; af I don't I get a hefty late fee. Fair housing says they have to honor the lease I signed.They forced me to come home from my vacation early so they could come in and do a Habitability Inspection, then they missed the appointment! Hours later they call me and tell me the guy isn't going to make it, well after it's clear to me that he's not showing up.When he showed up the next day, he showed up early, and I was on a work call. He was not apologetic, but was more worried about telling me that the missed appointment was not his fault. The side of the building is falling in and they have no intentions of fixing it.When I showed the maintenance man who came for the inspection my cold water in the kitchen runs about the size of a pencil lead he responded by that's the way it is in old buildings. I have contacted fair housing and I'm logging every interaction with this shady company. Run away! Worst experience ever.

We are sincerely sorry that we inconvenienced you. As soon as the issues you mentioned were brought to our attention they were promptly resolved. There is no discrimination, disrespect or malintent by any of our staff. I have listened to the recorded phone calls and dont appreciate the rude way you treated my staff members and explicit language used as they calmly tried to de-escalate a minor situation that you chose to amplify. I, too, have spoken to Fair Housing and the BBB. We are legally compliant and ethically minded, with no ounce of discrimination.Unfortunately, your residence is in significant need of repair, which is why our professional property management company has been brought on board in order to work through the proper channels to get the property into fully functioning shape again.

    I thought I was the only one with a bad review about this company to my surprise I’m not! Ever since this company took over new management, it has been complete madness. This company doesn’t care about their tenants. They only care about the money. The old property managers use to cut the grass in this large field area now the tenants are responsible for cutting two times more grass then before and if we don’t, we get charged an additional $100 I’ve been living in is property for five years. LaPlante just took over maybe three or four months ago, I called them for one maintenance repair now I’m being charged over $100 for this one repair. I’ve never been charge for any repairs since I’ve been living here but this new management LaPlante is all about money. I was completely unaware of any charges or fees, that will be added to my account. When I got notified about the maintenance repair was already past due. I tried to call in several times, but I’ve been phone tag all day. Once I was able to get in contact with someone, I was told that I have to leave a voicemail in order for someone to call me back. Meaning no one will answer the phone or talk to you unless you leave a voicemail. In addition, they have only took over new management for about three or four months, and they already requested a rent increase. I have also been notified that I will be responsible of a water bill that, I was not responsible for before. I only rent, I do not own this home. I would not recommend this company to anyone if I could give zero stars I would. This company is a complete nightmare.
