On Thursday July 14th a representative from Quantum sod came to our house to give us an estimate of the work we were wanting done. That work included removing a small flowering bush removing roots weeds and debris. Leveling dirt that was left over from raised flower beds. Then laying the new sod. I was told by the representative that they would find out if the sod was ready to be cut and they would call me that night or the next day Friday the 15th and I said okay I will run everything by my husband. I received no call on Thursday or Friday later in the day we discovered that they had come Friday the 15th while we were not home and did the work. You will see from the pictures that the sod is dead or dormant and very uneven we watered all day Friday and Friday night and Saturday morning Saturday night. We contacted the company on Saturday explaining we were not happy with the work done. We only got response by text from them stating they wanted their money or they would file a lawsuit or put a lien against our property, the estimate or bill was for $550. Today Sunday July 16th we rolled the sod back to see why it was so uneven in the pictures you will see all the weeds and trash and roots that was under the sod. Once again I state, this work was done without giving them the go ahead and no one home to see what was being done or put down. There was no contract only a verbal estimate and the estimate emailed which didn't break down a list of the work being done

    Business response

    01/18/2023

Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2022/09/27) */ We are only responsible to do the scope of work agreed upon via email and in person consultation (by request) before we show up. Every ticket item including the scope of the work we were hired for was completed before we left. Once we requested payment we no longer heard from you(This being the first time you have every reached out). In order to try to collect the amount we agreed to for completed work we also emailed you. We received no response. This was 74 days ago we assumed you decided you didn't care and were not going to take responsibility for the amount owed for the work completed. The items we sold you have been inseparably mixed with items on your property since the day we left. We also sold you a living product that was handled outside of our recommendations which was to simply apply water and watch the grass grow. The machines you rented were in addition to modifications outside what we were hired to do. We can't tell you what to do with the property you bought and own we would just like to get paid for the work we completed in full. We completed the work you hired us to do. We delivered on our end and would like you to do what you agreed upon on yours. Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2022/09/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We do not agree with the response due to many things. We did not agree for them to start the job. They came and looked at the area, discussed the worked needed and gave a price. I was told they would call me back to let me know if the sod was ready to be cut, my response was, good that gives me time to run this by my husband. They did not call back later that day or the next morning but we discovered that they came and did the work while we were not at home, this was without contacting me again to give them the go ahead. They state that we did not communicate with them again which is not so. My husband verbally talked to them on the phone and there was communication between Quantum Sod, myself and my husband through text, email and calls. This company has made several threats and have posted publicly against my character. They are claiming that we have mixed items from our property which is a flat out lie. Once again, I will attach all pictures taken, these were taken, day 1, and day 3. If need be, we have witnesses to what we found when we rolled the sod back and to the work, we had to do to clean up the mess. I also would like to add that we retained an attorney back in July who sent a certified letter to the company stating we were willing to pay for the material, in this case dormant sod, which we priced from several companies in the area. We also stated in our original complaint that we would be willing for a reduce bill for resolution, but once again only to pay for the market price of dormant sod. For this company to say there was no communication is not the truth, for them to say they gave an itemized estimate is not the truth, for them to say they we had an agreement is not the truth, for them to say we added things to the area is not the truth. We have kept a copy of all email, text, dates of phone conversations and copy of what our attorney sent with and more than happy to send those if needed. Business Response /* (4000, 22, 2022/09/29) */ Your attorney can reach out. The details in terms of why we ended up at your home is by your request. Your basically telling us what to get get paid from a conversation we initiated verbally with you which was a mistake. When we originally called you, shopped us online and agreed to our terms on our website first before any consultation happened by requesting a free estimate on our website. (Explicitly on your own will) Before you can submit your information for us to call you we ask for you to agree to our terms. Submitting your information confirms you agree. Unfortunately your speaking outside of the original terms and we deny all request to modify those. We suggest you review those terms on the same website you originally contacted us on. Lastly, we don't know what you want from us. We have originally terms you agreed to and would like to get paid. The terms can be found at www.QuantumSod.com which is the same website we ask for consent to the terms before you submit your request. We simply would like to be paid for the agreed upon amount based on your original request and the terms. We sent you a copy of your final invoice you can pay as soon as possible. If your not willing to pay for all the services, materials, labor, shrub removal, and haul off of debris that is not our choice but yours. We delivered on our end this invoice was sent over 76 days ago so again we just assumed you did not want to take responsibility based on you just not paying your bill. Based on this conversation we believe you don't feel like you have to or want to. If that is the case then god bless! We are telling you and have been telling you for 75 days what we need to happen! Consumer Response /* (4200, 24, 2022/10/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They did not have final approval to start the job. I was told they would call me the evening of July 14th once they checked to see if the sod was ready to be cut. My response was, that would be good and give me time to run the cost by my husband. They did not call the afternoon or evening of July 14th or the morning of the 15th but came without permission and entered our property. The other complaint is the work that was done was not of professional quality which can be seen from all the photos that we have sent as a file. Business Response /* (4000, 27, 2022/10/12) */ ***Document Attached*** We provided you the same invoice today 10/12/22 where we subtracted the price of materials. We still expect you to pay for everything else involved. This reduces your bill to $375 and is the absolute best we can do. Consumer Response /* (4200, 29, 2022/10/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We have checked the price of dormant sod for the area and have attached those prices. Quantum Sods invoice does not or has one ever showed anything itemized. Once again I state we are willing to pay for the material since it is in our yard but not at the price they have come to which is above market value for dormant or brown sod. I once again include a picture from the day Quantum Sod installed.
