    This involves my redemption of an oil change purchased on Groupon, but my complaint goes far beyond that. I bought the full-synthetic oil change through Groupon for $45. The small print said this did not include a "shop fee," nor the cost of a "specialty filter." My daughter took her car to the business while I was at work. They gave her just $24 credit for the $45 Groupon purchase I had made and charged her $10 for an inspection and $4.95 for an oil filter. They also told her she needed front brake pads and that if she didn't have the pads replaced immediately, it might result in rotor damage. My daughter felt her life would be in danger if her brakes went out, so she agreed. She later told me about it and showed me the receipt, which shows that they charged her for both pads AND rotors - a total cost of nearly $450 before taxes. She did not need new rotors, for which she was charged $259.60, plus taxes and most likely part of the unspecified "shop supplies" fee of $49.18.I believe they took advantage of her youth and inexperience, and in addition failed to fully honor my Groupon purchase. My credit card was charged for $534.02, in addition to the $45 I had already paid Groupon.

    I am rejecting this response because: The explanation lacks details. The business says it credited my $45 Groupon purchase off their normal oil change, and that my only other charges for the oil change totaled $5.97. The business, however, did not explain the additional $49.18 in "shop fees." 

    Additionally, my daughter is 18 years old. When she called me, she said the work to repair her brakes had already begun, and I did not know what her choices were at that point to decline the work and get her car off the lift. She did not indicate there was an option to decline new rotors and get only pads, which is all she needed at this point. I believe this business took advantage of a teenage girl's lack of experience.

    I took my 2016 Lexus is200t in Meineke Shop 2925 located at 2608E 2nd St Edmond OK 73034 for a oil change on November 14th 2022. I was told I had a crack in my radiator. I was told I needed to replace my radiator, two thermostats and temperature sensor  I approved all repairs to be done.  They contacted me on November 18th 2022 that my car was ready for pick up  I arrived at the shop, paid for the repairs and received my car.  I drove about 5 miles from the shop  and all of a sudden my temperature light went all to red and a lot of smoke started to come rolling out from under the hood.  I of course pulled over and called the shop. The manager Chris told me to bring the car back  I drove the car back to shop.  They inspected car and said I now needed a new water pump.  I approved new water pump to be installed.  They called me on November 22 2022 that my car was ready for pick up.  I arrived paid  for the water pump and received my car.  I again drove about 5 miles and my temperature light went all the way to red and again smoke started rolling out from under my hood  I pulled over and called the shop And again they told me to bring back my car  They inspected my car for over a week and on Dec 1st 2022 told me that they mis diagnosed the water pump and refund me for pump but they still don’t know what is wrong and they couldn’t do anymore. I had my car towed to Eskridge Lexus dealership  Once they inspected my car, I was informed the radiator that Meineke had installed was a cracked aftermarket radiator and it has caused my head gasket to blow. I will expect 100% compensation of engine repair from Meineke! I’m contacting you first, in the hope you will do what is right. However, I am talking to an attorney and will file an injunction if needed.

    Please find our response to the complaint raised by ****************, ** ******** attached.  We deeply regret our shortcomings here and are actively trying to resolve this matter with *****************  We have tried calling **************** to resolve the issue but she prefers to only communicate via email at this time which has been a relatively slow process.  I am unsure of the location and status of the vehicle as well as her acceptance of our offer to resolve the issue at this time and am awaiting an email response from her.
