These people are shady!!! I was told from the first time I got my car worked on that to get it diagnosed was $40 *** himself. Then the short guy tried to charge me $80 after it was done and the boss wasn't around. I told him the boss quoted me $40. He was like oh ok. The first time they worked on it was fine for MAYBE a month!! Then it started making weird noises, I then called them again to get it looked at. They told me it would be $40.00 again to get diagnosed and that same day they called me and told me I needed around 3 parts for the car and 2 of those were priced each at $332.00. I was dumbfounded that the total amount would be $1,200.00. I requested that they send me a text showing the prices and what the breakdown for the $1,200 was for. He didn't like that but sent it. I am a single mother and life is hard, I understand life is hard for everyone. However, I will not be taken advantage of because I am a woman. I will do my research and see if they are honest. So I did, I went online, and I called AutoZone, ********, and the Kia *********** They had overpriced every single thing that the car supposedly needed. The parts that they quoted were $332.00 was $124.00. After talking to ******** and Auto Zone they confirmed that I was overquoted and they couldn't believe that F&M had done this. I have a screenshot from the quote. I will be sending it in with my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. When I sent my daughter to get the car after she got out of school they had "lost" the key to the car and told her that it was $86.00 for the diagnosis. I paid it over the phone and headed directly to F&M. I am terrified that they have tampered with my car since I am not using them and they "lost" the key for 30 minutes and the car was hidden behind where my daughter was unable to see what was going on. I paid $86.70 and I want it refunded and I also want *** to keep his word and all the employees need to be honest and stand by their word.

Although we are not even affiliated with the BBB, I will take the time to respond to this complaint. I would like to begin with stating the events that led up to this complaint. This customer previously brought us her car. Her vehicle had numerous issues and we discussed the findings with her. She stated she did not have the funds to fix all of the issues so together we decided to address the most important problems first. We did charge her for diagnostics. I specifically told her that diagnostics starts at $40 and goes up from there. We charge based on the time spent to diagnose the issue(s). The reason she had to return a month later is because the issue she returned for was not fixed the first time due to her inability to pay. As for the price of the parts, I told her that we only order parts from reputable places to avoid issues with warranties if a problem were to arise. She kept talking about finding the parts online for 1/2 the price. I told her that she was more than welcome to order the parts but we would not be able to warranty them. This upset her. As for the parts being $124 at AutoZone and OReillys , this is a lie. The price is currently $320.99 for the Monroe Quick Strut and coil spring. The reason the people from the above mentioned ****** told her they couldnt believe what she is saying is because anyone that has done business with us knows we pride ourselves on being honest and upfront. Her claim that she feared we tampered with her car would upset me if it wasnt so asinine. We will not be issuing a refund due to the $86 being the charge for fixing her lower ball joint on the passenger side  (due to it being a safety issue) AND for the diagnostics. We spent time on her car and no matter how difficult she was or how loud she got, we deserve to be paid for our time. I wish this person nothing but the best and I hope that she finds a mechanic that she can trust and afford. I do request that she not return to my place of business.

I am rejecting this response because:
They are not truthful! Money was never the issue. Dishonesty is a huge issue! To every hard working woman, I hope they start standing up for themselves. They are completely dishonest.

    Sincerely,
