    In November of 2022 Ricks fencing and decking worked on a New Deck with Covering and we paid over $50,000.00. At the time the workers were great and very responsive. Because it was raining they said they could not complete the drainage for the Covering until there was dry weather. Since that date there has been many dry weather days. We have contacted the company four times leaving voice messages and even talking with staff and were told someone would contact us to complete the job. Now six months later and $50,000+ paid they refuse to contact us and finish their job. This is very upsetting and we want this very expensive project (for us as retired folks) be completed.

    I apologize for our delay in getting back out. The small amount of work that wasn't done was due to that needing to be done in drier weather. No excuse for not jumping on it once things did dry out. It is my understanding that it's all done and in good order not.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
    The Business responded within a few days after the post on BBB and completed the job. We appreciated the very fast response and they had done a very good job up to when they did not return our calls a number of times to ask that the work be completed. The work quality was excellent and our biggest concern was they did not respond. Thank you BBB for helping to resolve this issue. .

    The concrete work around the posts is unacceptably ugly. They don't seem to be able to bring it up to acceptable levels. I was a $5000 discount for the ugly concrete work, it doesn't look like the engineering drawings or the examples shown to me on their brochure. I want a letter of apology for threats to put a lien on my house if I didn't pay before they finished the project (got a permit of completion, had the touchup painting done, brought the concrete work up to good condition), and **** (another manager)'s cursing in a voicemail to me. I want a discount of $5000 to pay for unlovely concrete work.

    This is my second letter to the Better Business Bureau:

     

    I found Ricks response about the problems with ***************** to be unsatisfactory.

    1)      I would like a signed copy of the contract, signed about April 28 of this year.  If they dont have it I would like to know.

    2)     I would like Ricks to hire *******************, a concrete contractor, to dig out 4-5 inches of the current concrete around the posts and replace it with new, more skillfully done concrete.  The current concrete is ugly, according to all whove seen it.  It was Ricks second attempt.

    3)     I would like Ricks to reimburse me for the $20 I paid my handyman to move the wood out of the weather and rain where Ricks put it.

    4)     I want a refund of $3000 for poor quality materials.  Their brochure says they use top-quality materials and craftmanship.

    5)     I would like a refund of $3000 for poor quality workmanship.

    6)     I want a refund of $7000 for possible problems due to their history of inferior materials and workmanship, that *** occur in the future.

    7)     I want a refund of $3000 due to their threats and intimidation.  ***************** raised his voice to me and threatened me with a lien against my house, and that they would take me to court if I didnt give him a check for the remainder of the balance due.  They hadnt even received the second passed permit yet, let alone the final permit, which they still havent received.

    8)     I want a refund of $2000 for having to listen to ****************** obscenity of, Oh, crap! on my voicemail.

    9)     I want Ricks to pay all attorney fees, court costs, and any other expenses arriving from this dispute.

    I'm meeting ***** tomorrow at 10am to look over the project. I apologize if any of our employees have been any less that 100% professional and polite. I will gladly pay a reasonable amount to have her 2 concrete footings re-done by her contractor of choice. I've followed along with the progress of her project via our photo application. Other than the concrete it's difficult to see any deficiencies in materials or workmanship in photo's. So, I'll look at it in person and we'll be happy to fix anything that doesn't meet standards. We've obtained all required permits and will pass all inspections.

    Ricks built us a front porch. Over $10,000. I get the lifetime warranty, but not built to last. Its unstable and I put hanging plants on the railings and its pulled the railings away from the deck. I called for someone to fix and I keep having to contact them. They dont seem to care about it once they have their money. I have had to call them 4 different times. Still waiting for someone to stabilize the railings that I have to paint.

    Paid for an awning above patio/deck in back yard. I asked that it be attached to top of roof not under. They attached it so far and high-up that rain and snow will dump onto the deck. I will not even be able to walk out the back door without being snowed or rained on. I aske them to please come back out and help to remedy the situation. Currently they have-not contacted me.*****************

    On 5/31/22, we went to Ricks' fencing in ******************************************* to pay the down payment for a chain link fence $1,575.00. total bid amount was $3,278.79. My wife and I were happy as we finally found the fencing company that says "Custom ************************************************* We were hoping that our slope driveway when the fence will be in placed, be secured and in a "normal way". One of their employee came and started the fencing June 7th, then came back on June 17th to finish it. When the employee finish the fence, my wife was not happy of the outcome. There is also a cap that they are supposed to be put on, and tighten up the gate with another hinge, as someone can still swing and overtime it will be loose. My wife told the employee that she's not going to pay the rest because she was not happy the way they did it. after two days, *** called me and said they will be sending someone to look at it. What we wanted them to do is to drop the other gate so they will look descent balance. This morning, ***** called me and said he's not going to send someone here and demand to pay the whole balance, $1,703.79 and then agreed to take out $150 as the contract said two concrete holes. they only put one hole. As a veteran who has served this great country, i need to voice my opinion. As such, I didn't even ask for a discount if they offer a veteran discount. Please see the attached picture of the fence. You can tell the big difference of the two gates. the gap is very noticeable. if they can drop the other gate, to match up with the other. We will take the payment to their store as soon as they comply with our request. thank you,

Looking at your pictures, I think we will need to upgrade you to a custom gate to accommodate the slope of you driveway. I'll be happy to make that happen.

    I signed a contract on May 14, 2021 with ****** Fencing to have a shed style patio roof replaced with an open gabled patio roof attached to my house roof. I already had walls enclosing my patio and was assured that the walls would be preserved. The cost of this project was $56,479.85. 10 months later after engineering and permitting was finally done, I was told that the type of roof engineered was not what I had asked for. It was a patio roof made with trusses and would have a flat ceiling and closed *****. I was not happy with that but agreed to it because I was not willing to pay the nearly $4,000.00 it would cost to start over. (Though it was their mistake or lie). I believe they purposely deceived me. I work nights and while they worked I had to sleep. I woke up in the afternoon and found that they had removed the patio walls with out my permission and said they could not put them back in. I ended with a patio roof structure that was not how I wanted it and no walls. I would like ****** fencing to reimburse me for the walls. (I paid over $14,000 .00 for them). At the very least they should have installed an actual ceiling in this structure for me, ( there is open rafters at this time) and installed gutters for the money I paid. I had understood that it would be a complete structure for that money. I have had other contractors out here and they are encouraging me to file this complaint.
