I went to this nail salon with my sister in law I noticed that they asked me we wanted to share a nail kit for our feet we both said no we would like our own, her nail tech gave her a new nail kit and my nail tech brought out a used looking nail kit I asked if it was used and she didnt understand me after she was finished usually if its a new nail kit we have to pay for it they give it to you. Well my nail tech didnt give mine to me she took it back and put it on the shelf. Now Im concerned that Ill probably get an infection and came home and put rubbing alcohol all over my feet. When I confronted them they kept asking me to not say anything and still had me pay for my service also I asked for the owner but apparently the owner wasnt available and they gave me thier number when I dialed the number one lady who answered said it was the wrong number the other number was the lady standing in front of me. My frustration is now I got get a infection in my foot and who knows how many people they are being unsanitary with. Also I felt discriminated against as all the white women including my sister in law were offered new nail kits and mine didnt offer me one.

    Hi,

I am ****, owner of **** Nails & Spa.  I saw the complaint in the the letter which contain three cases:

    1) Using old nail kits.

    2) Discrimination

    3) Infection due to old nail files.

    For:

    1) We required each employee to sell a new nail kit for each customer. We don't use old files in our shop. Each client must have their own nail files.  Our nail tech forgot to charge the nail kit, and the client used this fact to claim that we have used the old file.

    2) Discrimination - We don't tolerate discrimination.  This is a groundless accusation.  Our tech forgot to charge the client nail files. She said we discriminate against her because she was colored.  Every person was charged the price for their services. Our prices were written in our menu, and we are not charged differently for each person.

    3) Infection due to using old files.  I was in contact with the client recently.  There were no records (no pictures, no doctor notices, no appointment to any clinics of any kinds).  There were no infections of any kinds.  I was asked for some kinds of pictures or to come to our shop so we can see the infections.  The client refused to come to the shop.

I believe the complaint was groundless based on these facts. Thank you.

    Regards,

    -****, Owner

I am rejecting this response because: this is not true. I didnt state I had an infection- what I said was a old nail kit was used on me and I asked to a new one. I have my sister in law who was with me who also saw them use a old nail kit. We told both our tech that we needed new ones. I do not have a infection but it could had led to one. They are not using sanitary products and are risking people and their health. A company like this should be fined or shut down for allowing this. Half of those tech do not speak English and when I asked she couldnt respond or didnt understand what I was saying. I will continue to seek justice as this was not ok! She used a old nail kit and even admitted to it. And apologized and tried to sell me a new nail kit. I am more then happy to involve my sister in law as she was sitting next to me. Saw everything as well.

    Sincerely,

    GG
