On March 21 2024 Alex ******************** and two of his employees were hired to replace flooring in approximately 1400 square feet of our home. He was paid $2800. Immediately we encountered problems. He left our home riddled with damages, holes in the walls, a gash through the door, open holes in the flooring, but worst of all when he replaced our toilets he did not replace the wax rings and unbeknownst to us, the toilets flooded raw sewage into our home for two weeks. It was not until we noticed separation from the caulking did we find out what he did. We immediately contacted him to resolve these issues. It took him two days to come back. When he removed all the flooring so we could run fans and treat the sewage damages he left our home in even worse shape. His workers and him tracked raw sewage through our home and on our walls and disposed of everything in our own garbage cans. While he was trying to "fix" these issues that he caused he just kept making everything worse including leaving more holes in our walls, gaps in the replaced flooring and more. We decided to no longer allow him in the home once we found out he has no license and is not insured. He has been harassing us for money he thinks we owe him when he owes us so much money in damages. We are currently filing a complaint with the *** and have hired an attorney to help us proceed in court and navigate our homeowners insurance claim.Business response

I was called after many other people were notified about the incident to do repairs for something unintentional. Once problem was identified we repaired immediately to stop further leaks( replace wax rings and tear out flooring). We then came back as soon as we were able to (2 days later) to start full repairs (remove and replace subfloor, flooring and 1ft of drywall around leak). Once subfloor was removed the framing underneath was severely damaged but not from initial leak we had but from poor property management. The damage seen in the pictures provided is not 2 weeks of damage as owner claims but months and even years of poor maintenance. This was not a new construction home that we came in to work on. When we came to do the work we were also contracted to replace the deteriorating floor in the laundry room which is on the other side of the wall where her bathroom with all the new problems started and in her front entrance where both subfloors and framing were rotten to the point if you stepped to hard in the area your foot would go through the floor. It was a 1990s house with several problems and rotted floors (most of which were due to poor property management from owners). When we bid this project we were friends doing a favor as they didnt have the funds to cover a project like this, let alone charged by a contractor at regular prices. Their parents paid for the entire project but once they saw an opportunity to take advantage of someone they jumped on the chance. The only reason this became a problem was because I lent money to the owner months back for their bills (as she claims in the pictures provided) and asked for it back 4 months later. It became a problem because her husband was not aware that she had asked another man for money thus sparking a personal issue within their relationship. I was sent a novel of an email the very next day explaining how I do not care for the friendship that we had and was told to stop contact with them completely when I was simply just asking for my money back. Her husband communicated with me through the entire process and thats where we were very confused because we would get a normal response from him and then his wife would text/email me with something completely different. The trash thrown in their dumpsters was two bags of trash that her husband gave us permission to leave since they did not fit in our vehicles. My license did not get suspended until after the repairs were finished as I was notified by ccb.

I am rejecting this response because: the contractor was never licensed during the duration of this project. He is trying to place blame on us for his poor work instead of trying to take responsibility. If he was licensed and insured his insurance would rectify any issues. It's wild that he thinks he is owed anything. We have already started a homeowners insurance claim amongst other legal procedures. Every "review" posted in regards to his work he has tried to fight and with no positive response. He messaged the admin of a local ******** page to complain about my bad review when the admin knows how badly he messed this job up. He is still NOT licensed and actively working. His "friends" are constantly sending me his job site addresses. He is in current disputes with multiple homeowners, and never seems to be able to rectify the problems. He was paid for this job and he is crying for more money at this point instead of trying to save his business' name.
Sincerely,

I hired ***************************************, Owner of Garcia Garcia Construction LLC to build a patio cover that ran along the side of my house. He reassured me he was licensed and bonded and could obtain a builders permit. I paid a deposit of $5,220.00 on Oct 11th. I was adamant before I hired ********* that he could obtain all necessary permits. He reassured me he could. ********* stated that he's been in contact with my county and that all was going well and he didn't see a need to worry. In good faith, I allowed him to start construction (started construction end of October). Throughout construction I continued to ask about the permit and kept getting responses from ********* that all should be fine. He finalized construction end of Nov. I had a leak in the patio cover that was noticed first part of Dec and texted *********. He came out to "try" and fix it right away. I asked him again about the permit and he said he was still waiting to hear back. In January, I noticed the patio cover still leaking in the same spot so I texted ********* again and also asked about an status update on the permit. I have yet to hear back from *********. The patio cover is over 10ft tall and bigger than the 200sq ft non-permit regulations. Based of these measurements a permit should have been obtained. I will have to tear down the patio cover if the county doesn't approve the permit and hire another contractor to get permits and rebuild. I will be forced with paying fines and added fees since construction is done in order to obtain the permit now. I would like my deposit refunded or ********* to prove that the permit has been obtained and approved by my county.
