A flier went out promoting a trade in special stating “your Kia will never be worth this much”. It stated our specific vehicle’s trade in value (not listed “as much as” or “with constraints”), with an additional incentive for providing said flier, and finally promoting an additional $7,500 that would be “given to us” by the dealership. The flier also advertised a 0% interest rate for a “Kia of our choice” as well as a monthly payment less than our current one. This flier seemed to be “too good to be true” and so we followed up and contacted the dealer directly over the phone and verified several details. I asked if we could use this promotion for a vehicle not presently on the lot or if ordered, I was told yes. I also confirmed all trade in value amounts listed above. When we arrived and began negotiations, almost everything we had verified was refuted. Our offer from the dealer was a trade in value lower than that listed on the flier, as well as no additional flier incentive that was advertised and the $7,500 was said to only apply as the federal ev tax credit. The language used on the flier as well as confirmed over the phone gave no indication this amount was stemming from the tax credit, as it was money “given to us” from the dealer. The dealership was over an hour away from us so we verified as much information as possible. We understand that we would not go into the negotiations and make out exactly how we would have liked. But the flier and information given over the phone was a blatant scam. It should also be noted that we arrived to the dealership on the day of the offer, Saturday August 12th at 8:45AM. I had contacted the dealership over the phone Thursday August 10th.

The promotion that this customer received is intended for us to be able to acquire more used vehicle inventory as current market conditions make it tough for us to acquire inventory. The mailer that we have states that the customer can receive the total amount in bold for their vehicle if they qualify for it. It also says that they can receive additional rebates and low APR on select vehicles if they qualify. We do not guarantee the value of their vehicle. In the fine print on the back of the flyer it details that offers can not be combined and the customers vehicle value is based off of excellent condition and 10,000 miles driven per year. We do our best to take care of every customer that comes into our dealership; sometimes the vehicle is not perfect and we have to adjust.
